Showing Support to Veterans’ Group On July 20th Ste. Anne and Richer played host to the Community for Veterans: Ride Across Canada by coming out in full force with almost 30 horseback riders and 3 full wagons on a trail ride from Ste. Anne to Richer Dawson Trail Park.

wagon. Passengers included veterans, an RCMP officer in dress red, an actor from the western TV series - The Pinkertons, the MLA from Steinbach and lots of kids.

The ride arrived in Richer in the afternoon and the group and other guests then headed over to the Richer Inn for a fundraiser steak dinner.

In total with local and Ste. Anne Legion support, the communities were able to raise over $1,700 for the group and their foundation in support of veterans.

A half dozen local vets also participated in the ride either on horseback or in the wagons.

Richer Rodeo Right Around Corner The Richer Roughstock Rodeo starts on August 7 and runs until August 9 and is expected to be as exciting as the two previous years.

The Manitoba Cutting Horse Association will kick things off on Friday starting at 11 am.

The Rodeo committee has added a couple of new events, including a Wild Pony Race for kids aged 11-14 on Saturday and Sunday, and the Little Buckaroo Fashion Show on Sunday. Both events have prizes awarded.

ture something new also… the BULLNanza Bowl. An area of the rodeo ring will be sectioned off and for $5 more you can sit really close to the action and enjoy a beverage in this newly licensed area. Seating will be limited.

The Cowboy Social will be held Friday night and Saturday night will feature country favourite Trevor Johnson creating a perfect atmosphere for hitting the dance floor.

The Trading Post will be packed with an assortment of vendors and unique shopping opportunities.

Lots going on for the kids with the Burnell’s Family Fun Zone, pony rides and the Lilac Resort Petting Zoo. The barrel train will be making its rounds for the kids to hitch a ride.

And of course… the main attraction… the HRA Rodeo takes place

on both Saturday and Sunday. The Rodeo committee has won Rodeo of the Year for the past two years and are trying for a third year in a row.

Raptors in the Park!

Tuesday, August 25th 2pm – 3pm Redemptoristes Park – Pavilion Wildlife Haven Rehabilitation Centre is coming to Ste. Anne and presents raptors and reptiles in the park. For over 30 years, Wildlife Haven Rehabilitation Centre has been caring for injured and orphaned wildlife from all over Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario.

Wildlife Haven Rehabilitation Centre is a registered nonprofit, volunteer-based charitable organization dedicated to the rehabilitation and successful release of injured and orphaned wildlife back to their natural environment, providing valuable outreach and education services to the community and engaging volunteers in a rewarding experience.

Since 1984, over 35,000 injured and orphaned wildlife have been cared for. Wildlife Haven Rehabilitation Centre relies on the generous support of volunteers and donations to operate. Come face to face with live raptors and reptiles; examine a hawk’s talon, a turtles shell, and a snake’s scales. How do they hunt and hide? Are they ruthless killers or do they balance fragile ecosystems? Raptors and reptiles will answer all these questions and more! The presentation will allow time for questions from the crowd and feature a western hognose snake, a very special

species to learn about in Manitoba!

Sainte-Anne Pavilion Hosts Concerts in the Park
