A Word From Our Local Food Bank
Thanks to numerous large-hearted donors, Accueil Kateri was able to provide generous Christmas hampers to 108 families in need. The hampers included age-appropriate gifts and new books for all the children. In order to better serve the food bank clients during the pandemic, Accueil Kateri set up operations in the Knights of Columbus Hall at 132 Centrale. This led to the purchase of the hall and some ensuing renovations. Accueil Kateri is very grateful to the Ste-Anne Knights of Columbus who agreed to sell their hall for a very favourable price. Accueil Kateri is also very thankful for all who donated time, supplies, skills and money towards the purchase and the renovations necessary for the transformation of the hall into a food bank centre. Special thanks to the Town of Ste. Anne, the Ste. Anne Municipality and Caisse Financial Group for their important contributions. Thanks to a dedicated team of volunteers, Accueil Kateri has con-
tinued to provide hampers to approximately 70 to 75 families every two weeks adhering to public health guidelines during this pandemic. A note to all gardeners – If you have a little extra space, please consider the « Grow-a-row » program. Accueil Kateri will gratefully welcome the extra produce you will harvest.
Winter Clothing With the Spring weather arriving it’s time to put away our winter clothing! Please consider giving your children’s gently used outerwear which you feel won’t fit next year to the Ste-Anne food bank, Accueil Kateri Centre. The food bank volunteers are also getting ready for next winter, gathering items to give to children in need. It’s best if the items are functional, but we accept ski pants which need repairs. We also accept toques, mittens and socks. You can place your donations in the yellow bin behind the food bank at 132 Centrale or in one of
the boxes in the RC Church, either in the Church entrance or in the office. Thanks in advance for your generosity. Thanks very much for your support... Suzanne Ritchot.
Online Soccer Registration We are hoping that by May we might see a bit of normalcy, so we are going to go ahead and open registration. This year though we will wait until we are closer to the season to collect registration fees. To register go to soccersainteanne.com. Online registration will close on April 7th.
