Gonvick Lions Elect First Ever Woman President Kim Solberg now holds the title of the first ever elected woman. The Gonvick Lions Club was formed in 1975 and this is the first year that there has been a woman as president in 43 years. Kim Solberg was elected along with three other women officers of the club. Lion Ken Bauer, left and Lion Mike Quiggle, right, are shown presenting a Leader Dogs for the Blind Founders Tribute Plaque to Dr. Lance Bergstrom at the 2nd annual fund-raiser to assist in the expenses for Dr. Bergstrom’s trip to Haiti each year. The inscription reads, “In honor of Dr. Lance Bergstrom for his continued dedication to the Haiti Eye Mission--Barnesville,

MN, Lions 2018” The total amount the Barnesville Lions donated to this cause was $500.00. Even though the funds raised are very helpful toward trip expenses, Dr. Bergstrom, a member of the Fargo, ND, Lions, must still pay out of pocket expenses. Dr. Bergstrom’s continual services to assist those less fortunate exemplifies the Lions Motto, “We Serve.”
