PARK AVENUE SYNAGOGUE

We are thrilled to gather tonight as a community at our 19th Annual Gala to celebrate Park Avenue Synagogue and our honoree, Natalie Barth. As we stand surrounded by the impressive architecture and vast ceilings of Guastavino’s, it is hard not to admire the arches that support it all –symbols of strength and stability held together by the pressure and connections between its many individual stones. And so, too, is our PAS community – strong, vibrant, and thriving, held together by the bonds and relationships among and between our members. Just look around, and you will know our community wants to be together – and since October 7th even more so. Our community is showing up – tonight, for each other, as well as for Israel. It is therefore most appropriate that this year’s theme is Hazak V’nit-hazek, as we are all Stronger Together And, also, how fitting it is that tonight’s honoree is our dear friend and partner Natalie Barth.

Natalie has inspired so many with her particular brand of leadership, one that is characterized by her passion and perseverance for a community she so clearly adores. There isn’t anyone with whom she hasn’t partnered, from staff to clergy to lay leaders to our members. Natalie has shown time and again that success is not marked by the work of one but by the collaboration of many. We thank you, Natalie -along with Brett, Brian, and Benjamin -- for being such a special part of our PAS family.

Natalie served as an officer at Park Avenue Synagogue for more than nine years, giving tirelessly to the community and making her mark through various landmark initiatives in Youth Education and the Young Family Division. She was instrumental in strengthening our organization, central to hiring many of our staff, and helped navigate us through COVID so that we could continue to be there for our members. We are a better synagogue because of Natalie and her indelible impact.
