Kiddush
from PAS Blessing Book
by pasyn
Enjoy the taste of the wine or grape juice and let it remind you of the holiness (kedushah) that always surrounds us if we can just remember to notice it.
Barukh atah Adonai eloheinu melekh ha-olam, borei pri ha-gafen.
Blessed are you Adonai our God, ruler of time and space, creator of the fruit of the vine.

Barukh atah Adonai, m’kadesh ha-shabbat.
And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day. The heavens and the earth, and all they contain, were completed. On the seventh day God finished the work, ceasing from all work on the seventh day.
Then God blessed the seventh day, making it holy, for on it God ceased from all the work of creation.
Blessed are you Adonai our God, ruler of time and space, creator of the fruit of the vine.
Blessed are you, Adonai our God, ruler of time and space, who wanted us and made us holy through mitzvot, and who lovingly and willingly gave us Shabbat, a measure of God’s holiness, a symbol of creation.
It is the first of sacred times, a symbol of the Exodus from Egypt. You have chosen us and sanctified us from among all peoples by lovingly and willingly giving us Your holy Shabbat.
Blessed are you Adonai, who makes Shabbat holy.
