MAYOR FOREWORD The 2021 local government elections marked a turning point in the governance of Inkosi Mtubatuba Municipality. While it introduced new Councillors to advance community interests, it also retained Councillors who served in the previous term of office.

This blend of Councillors is important for our Municipality as it introduces new and fresh ideas into our system but also preserves institutional memory.

Honourable Councillors have a responsibility. A responsibility to advance service deliveryt and a responsibility to play a critical role of performance and financial oversight in the affairs of our Municipality.

All Councillors have a duty to bring stability in our Municipality. While there may be differences in political affiliation, such differences should not supersede our ethical responsibility improving the lives and conditions of the people we serve.

I would like to take this moment to make a clarion call to the staff and Councillors of Inkosi Mtubatuba Municipality. Let us work together to rebuild the image of our Municipality.

This will not be done overnight. This will be done through daily actions where compliance with legislation should be prioritized. We are duty bound to protect the tax payers money. We are duty bound to improve on audit outcomes of our Municipality. Most importantly, we are duty bound to serve with integrity.

My office remains open for engagement. I call on you to work with us as we navigate these uncharted waters towards recovery. I am hopeful that we will recover and be better Trust Us!
