This has been a difficult year for many of the Women’s Committee members, Symphony musicians, and Youth Orchestra students whose homes and schools were destroyed in the Eaton fires. Despite these devastating losses, the Symphony completed the inaugural classical season under the musical direction of the dynamic Brett Mitchell. Students were relocated to new schools where they continued their music education and performed in a wonderful Spring concert. Your donation as a Patron of the Holiday Look In, along with your ticket purchase, has helped to keep their wonderful music playing!
Heartfelt thanks go out to the generous homeowners, and loyal patrons whose continued support makes this event possible. Your contributions have enabled us to successfully fundraise for the Pasadena Symphony and POPS and its local student educational programs. And it’s not too late to become a Patron of the Holiday Look In. You can still support our fundraiser by donating on the Pasadena Symphony website and checking “Holiday Look In on behalf of Women’s Committee.” Patrons who donate $100 or more will be recognized in the Pasadena Symphony Classics and POPS 2026 program books. Your contributions can help us reach our fundraising goal of $250,000!

In recognition of the impact that the Women’s Committee has had on fundraising for the Pasadena Symphony, the Association of California Symphony Orchestras (ACSO) recently honored us with the prestigious Most Valuable Player Volunteer Award. In the words of Sarah Weber, ACSO Executive Director, “The members of the Women’s Committee exemplify the best of volunteerism. They are generous in spirit, relentless in their efforts, and deeply devoted to music and community. Their impact on the Pasadena Symphony is truly profound.” I am so proud to be a member of this incredible group of women.
The Women’s Committee wishes you and your family a wonderful holiday season and good health, happiness and peace in the year ahead. Thank you so much for joining us.
Mona Neter, President Women’s Committee of the Pasadena Symphony Association

Welcome to the 58th Annual Holiday Look In Home Tour and Boutique! The Women’s Committee takes great pride in presenting this annual holiday event, and I am truly honored to Chair this year along with Vice Chair, Cynthia Bradley. The Women’s Committee hosts this tour of distinctive homes to benefit the Pasadena Symphony and POPS and their music education programs throughout the San Gabriel Valley.
The Holiday Look In Tour provides the perfect opportunity to begin or continue family traditions for the holiday season. This event allows you the chance to visit four beautiful, unique homes that highlight floral displays created by prominent floral designers. Each year guests are delighted to see stunning floral displays and holiday décor. While touring the homes, keep an ear open for the delightful holiday music provided by local musicians. Also, be sure to take a moment at a specially designed floral photo display at each house where you can take some fun photos! Feel free to tag us @pasadenaholidaylookin to share the fun you’re having!
In addition to the spectacular home tour, be sure to visit our free holiday boutique that features eighteen extraordinary vendors, each with unique gift items. The Holiday Boutique will be back at the beautifully renovated Scottish Rite. Please take time to visit the Boutique in addition to the homes.
It is with sincere gratitude that Cynthia and I thank our fantastic homeowners for their gracious generosity in allowing us to tour their homes. The Holiday Look In Tour would not be possible without their willingness to open their doors and gardens for our Look In guests.
We are also profoundly grateful to the inspired florists, talented musicians, dedicated member and non-member volunteers, generous patrons, and the tireless support of the Pasadena Symphony Association. This event could not be a success without them.
Cynthia and I are especially grateful to the members of the Holiday Look In Committee. Their incredible dedication and commitment to this event is what makes it so successful.
On behalf of the Women’s Committee of the Pasadena Symphony Association, thank you so much for your participation. We hope you enjoy your day visiting our homes and boutique as much as we have enjoyed preparing for this important event! Happy Holidays!

Welcome to the Annual Holiday Look In Home Tour and thank you for joining us on this holiday adventure! For more than half a century, the dedicated volunteers of the Women’s Committee of the Pasadena Symphony have curated this beloved annual holiday tradition to support the Pasadena Symphony and POPS.
I want to personally thank the homeowners who have graciously offered their homes for this year’s Tour and the talented design partners who have bedecked the homes with their creative and inspired holiday designs. I also want to thank each and every member and volunteer from the Women’s Committee, whose personal dedication and generosity of time, talents, and spirit, play a key philanthropic role in supporting the Pasadena Symphony and POPS, and especially our Pasadena Youth Symphony Orchestras and education programs.
While you surround yourself in the holiday spirit, know that your participation today also provides critical financial support for our performances and musicians, whether at the Ambassador Auditorium or under the stars at the LA Arboretum.
Just as critically, the Holiday Look In helps to fund the 11 ensembles and programs of our Pasadena Youth Symphony Orchestras, serving more than 700 young musicians in grades 4 – 12 from 84 schools, across 29 cities throughout the San Gabriel Valley. Lastly, our Student Access Program annually provides more than 3,000 young people and their families the opportunity to attend a Pasadena Symphony and POPS concert, at no cost.
If you have not already, be sure to visit the Holiday Look In Boutique on Dec 6-7 at the Pasadena Scottish Rite to complete your holiday shopping while supporting more than 18 local artists and small businesses and the Pasadena Symphony and POPS! Again, thank you for enjoying the Holiday Look In Home Tour, and for keeping orchestral music alive and well in our community.
Best Wishes for a Happy Holiday Season,

Andrew Brown Chief Executive Officer

Several of them have participated multiple times during the past years and continue to bring new designs and unique, innovative looks to their holiday arrangements and decorations. As every home is different, each designer finds a way to bring the holidays to life in a manner that complements each home’s distinctive elements. The Women’s Committee of the Pasadena Symphony Association is so thankful for the participation of these talented florists. We encourage you to visit their establishments and patronize their services. See what they can do for your home!

The Arroyo home, a French Norman Revival treasure built in 1927, stands as both an architectural gem and a romantic symbol of its original owners’ love story. During World War I, Lieutenant Colonel Lansing Beach, while stationed in France, met and fell in love with Katherine, an ambulance driver. Their courtship amidst the backdrop of war inspired them to bring a piece of France back to Pasadena after their marriage. They commissioned architects Witmer and Watson to design a home reminiscent of the country of their courtship. The result was an enchanting French Eclectic Norman Revival style home that blended Medieval building traditions with the simplicity of the emerging Modern movement.
Approaching the property, one is greeted by a majestic native interior live oak with its towering branches casting dramatic shadows across the house. The façade’s symmetry is that of a traditional French manor. The home’s interior retains the restraint of architectural adornment for which the architects were known. Mirror-backed recessed bookcases flank the fireplace of cast stone in the French Boudin design, while the bay window invites viewers to take in the front garden and the Arroyo Seco park just beyond. This historic home’s integrity earned it a “Historically Significant Landmark” designation by the City of Pasadena under the Mills Act Program.
The current owners have enhanced its character with many family heirlooms, artifacts from their travels, and custom-designed light fixtures. Entering the foyer, guests encounter a series of nineteenth century century engravings of British monarchs from William the Conqueror to Elizabeth I, as well as a 7-feet-tall nineteenth century stained-glass window “cartoon” of Richard the Lionheart. Amongst the many antiques in the living room are a pair of paint-and-gilt Early American chairs along with the family’s treasured 1909 Steinway grand piano.
The dining room radiates elegance, adorned with two large nineteenth century family portraits, and a custom crystal chandelier designed by one of the homeowners. Beyond the dining room, the mahoganycountered butler’s pantry opens to a remodeled kitchen featuring Jerusalem Gold marble countertops. Suspended over the central island is the family’s antique birdcage refitted as a chandelier. The adjoining family room’s large bay window offers tranquil views of the rear garden’s boxwood parterres, echoing that of the front garden which was designed in 1997 by landscape designer Cynthia Varsi.
This home, generously shared by its owners for Pasadena’s Holiday Look In Home Tour for the second time, embodies romance, history, and artistry. It is truly one of the architectural treasures of Pasadena!

Welcome to “Mi Sueño del Sur.” In 1915, New York financier Herbert Coppell and his wife, Georgia Estelle Myers Coppell, purchased 4.6 acres of pristine land on the border of Pasadena and South Pasadena for $18,000 and commissioned famed architect Bertram Goodhue (Panama-California Exposition in San Diego, Los Angeles Central Public Library, Cal Tech) to design a winter home. The property ran along the eastern edge of Arroyo Drive, Columbia Place, and Grand Avenue. The resulting 16,000 square foot, twenty-eight room mansion was the site of lavish parties during the Coppells’ winter visits, and they became a fixture of Pasadena society. Built for an estimated construction cost of $70,000, with an additional $10,000 for the garage, the house upon completion was the largest in the area. The Coppells affectionately named the home “Mi Sueño” (My Dream).
In 1950, the real estate firm of Bleier and Scharf decided to break up the property into smaller lots in order to save the house from being torn down or converted into apartments, as was happening elsewhere in Pasadena at the time. The east side facing Grand Avenue was divided into six lots and called Churchill Place. The garage, which had its own entrance from Grand, was reconstructed as a single-family home. The west side was divided into two lots with new entrances from Columbia Place and Arroyo Boulevard. It was decided to divide the main house into two parts by removing the entry doors and two-story entry hall and the marble staircase, creating the home on tour today, “Mi Sueño del Sur.”
The understated grandeur of the exterior of this 6,000-square-foot home belies the richness of the interior space. Many of the stunning original architectural details are still in place today, including Palladian windows and massive French doors, Honduran Teak Floors, expansive mahogany woodbeamed ceilings, and a massive intricately carved stone fireplace. In 2019, the property was completely renovated, including the installation of a new kitchen, five new bathrooms, new lighting, and other cosmetic changes to create the exquisitely designed and sophisticated interiors. In 2024, the multiple private gardens were updated, including the original reflecting pond. The home features stunning world-class artwork and sculpture both inside and out. Featuring florals by Margit Holakoui, this property truly is a dream to behold.

This lovely Mediterranean-style home was designed by Roland E. Coate in 1925. Coate was well regarded as one of the most distinguished designers of Spanish architecture in the 1920’s. The house is centrally located in the Oak Knoll District of Pasadena, adjacent to the historic Langham Hotel, on a street frequently referred to as the “Petting Zoo of Architecture” due to the vast array of exquisite and architecturally distinct mansion-sized homes.
This 3800 square foot, three-bedroom, five-bath home is known as the Griffith home since it was originally built for F.W. Griffith. (Frederick W. Griffith was an American businessman and politician from New York.) It is an outstanding example of Spanish Colonial Revival architecture, featuring the soft texture of white-washed adobe exteriors, mission-style arches and batten shutters on the windows. Other architectural features include windows with wrought-iron grilles and a balcony with a wrought-iron balustrade. The use of red tiles on the roof was intentionally chosen as a contrast to the sun-washed white exterior walls and vibrant patio greenery.
This beautiful home might be considered “understated” from the street view, with the front façade unadorned except for a small cartouche (scroll) over the front door, three front windows and a small sculptural buttress. In true Mediterranean style, the house faces inward to a beautiful courtyard, arched loggia, Spanish-tiled fountain, refreshing pool, and spa. A magnificent crepe myrtle tree provides shade and beautiful flowers when in bloom. This gorgeous outdoor living space, landscaped by Rick Button Landscape Design, provides a peaceful sanctuary for relaxing and entertaining and is one of the features that drew the current homeowners to the home.
The real magic of this unique home is apparent as soon as one steps into the front entryway. Unique patterns of original Saltillo tiles and wood-beam ceilings welcome visitors and invite them to explore each of the beautifully appointed rooms that connect to the entryway. As one walks through each of the home’s rooms, tastefully decorated by the homeowner with many of her grandmother’s furnishings and paintings and with careful attention to the home’s architecture and color palette, it is obvious why the owners fell in love with this charming Roland E. Coate Spanish Colonial Revival home.
FESTIVE FLORAL ARRANGEMENTS BY HANK MAARSE OF JACOB MAARSE FLORIST

Welcome to this stunning Spanish Revival masterpiece, designed in 1927 by esteemed local architect Elmer Grey. A celebrated figure in Southern California’s architectural history, Grey is best known for designing iconic landmarks such as the Henry E. Huntington House at The Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens, the Pasadena Playhouse, the Zane Grey Estate in Altadena, and the legendary Beverly Hills Hotel. In 1904, Grey met renowned architect Myron Hunt and developed a friendship while riding horses together Sunday mornings in the Pasadena area. They soon formed a working partnership designing many notable private residences, along with larger projects, including schools, churches, and hotels.
This beautiful home is located in the prestigious Oak Knoll/Langham neighborhood and was originally built as an accessory building to the larger estate next door. It was later subdivided and expanded in 1961 by R.W. Kingery. Initially used as a gallery and library by a professor of Natural Sciences, the space now serves as the formal living room and an upstairs loft. The two neighboring properties are still connected today by a charming shared structure, functioning now as the garage and a fully appointed accessory dwelling unit (ADU).
From the moment you arrive at the circular driveway and step into the tranquil and peaceful courtyard, you are embraced by the warmth and timeless charm of this Spanish-style gem. Though the home has evolved over the years with several additions and remodels, the current owners have lovingly restored it—carefully preserving and reintroducing original architectural details such as rich wood accents and classic wrought iron light fixtures throughout. The result is a seamless blend of enduring design and modern-day comfort, offering the best of both worlds.
Outside, the beautifully landscaped backyard features many mature fruit trees, a sparkling new pool with water feature, a firepit, and multiple dining areas perfect for relaxation or entertaining. The home’s timeless charm is further enhanced by the Hanukkah floral displays created by Lisa Cardella, adding to the atmosphere of this historical gem. This special home is a true blend of history, beauty, and modern elegance.

Caroline Norman was an enthusiastic member for 27 years. She and her husband Charles loved and generously supported the Pasadena Symphony. Charles owned and operated Norman’s Nursery and donated flowers for our Prelude luncheons and other events. They built a spectacular home in San Marino designed to look like it had existed for decades which was also the highlight of the 2003 Holiday Look In tour. Caroline welcomed us with her kind and gentle spirit and their home became a favorite location for many meetings. Due to her declining health many of our recent members did not have the opportunity to meet her. Caroline was very special.
