WELCOME TO PASADENA, TEXAS
HOME OF THE MCDONALD’S TEXAS INVITATIONAL
Welcome to the 2024 McDonald’s Texas Invitational, the tournament where 80 teams will vie for championship trophies. We will again have 48 teams in the boys’ division and 32 teams in the girls’ division. This event has grown to be one of the largest high school tournaments in the nation where “The Road to State Starts Here” each year. Many of the state champion teams of the past have started their season at this tournament.
TOURNAMENT LEADERSHIP
We have so many citizens who have a passion for this tournament and who devote hundreds of hours of volunteer time to ensure its success. The leadership is provided by our tournament steering committee composed of 45 of the most dedicated area citizens who are committed to supporting the youth of our community.
VOLUNTEERS
Every year our 400 volunteers join with the tournament leadership to perform the many tasks from selling tickets, to hosting teams, working in the hospitality rooms, donating food and refreshments and being available to assist our guests and visitors. You will see them in the black shirts with the tournament logo. Let them know you appreciate what they are doing.
EDUCATION FOUNDATIONS BENEFIT FROM TOURNAMENT PROCEEDS
All of the profits from this tournament are donated each year to the PISD and DPISD Education Foundations. These funds are used for grants to assist teachers and students in the classroom. Studies each year indicate that the tournament has a significant economic impact on our entire area.
APPRECIATION TO OUR MANY SPONSORS
McDonald’s and the many area businesses provide the financial support needed each year. The event would not be possible without their support. The generous support they provide is very much appreciated and we encourage you to visit these businesses that support the tournament.
THANK YOU
There will be nearly 200 games played at 10 venues. Please check out the program for game times and game sites. You may also visit the tournament web site at www.texasinvitational. com for additional information. Thank you for attending and enjoy the games and your visit to our community.

Welcome to Pasadena! It is our honor that you are here for the 2024 McDonald’s Texas Invitational Basketball Tournament. This is one of the most prestigious high school basketball tournaments in the nation, and I want to congratulate your team for being involved. Thank you to all of the players, coaches, staff, families and volunteers who consistently make this event an annual success.
The Texas Invitational Basketball Tournament has generated over $2.8 million for the Pasadena ISD and Deer Park ISD Educational Foundations since its inception. The attention generated by this event places Pasadena center stage in Texas athletics, and we look forward to hosting all 80 teams again this year. May this tournament be blessed with good sportsmanship, player safety and great memories. Without you, the McDonald’s Texas Invitational would not be possible.
Best wishes,
Jeff A. Wagner Mayor of Pasadena

WELCOME TO THE MCDONALD’S TEXAS INVITATIONAL BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
High school basketball stirs my competitive nature more than any other sport. It is a sport where every possession matters, and you get to see how the individual effort of every player impacts the course of the game. It’s time for the 21st Annual McDonald’s Texas Invitational Basketball Tournament, the best high school basketball tournament in Texas.
We’ve once again gathered some of the elite high school basketball talent in Texas to compete against one another in this year’s edition of the MTI scheduled for Nov. 21-23. We adopted the slogan, “The Road to State Starts Here,” because so many of the teams playing in our tournament find their way into the state basketball tournament at the end of the season. This year’s competition promises to be stellar.
The City of Pasadena, its Chamber of Commerce and the Pasadena Independent School District once again join together to host the McDonald’s Texas Invitational. Along with our chamber and school district partners in Deer Park, we look forward to welcoming the 48 boy’s teams and 32 girl’s teams and all their parents and all the fans who love great basketball.
More than 300 community volunteers work hard to ensure that our tournament goes off without a hitch. We absolutely want you to have a great time in our community. The leaders of our tournament steering committee and our community take great pride in supporting our youth, not just in our town, but across Texas. I am deeply appreciative of the work they do in preparation for our tournament.
The tournament is more than just a game to us. All the profits from the tournament are donated to the Pasadena ISD and Deer Park ISD education foundations. As an extension of their mission, the funds are then given to teachers to support innovative teaching projects to assist students in the classroom. Since the tournament’s inception in 2003, more than $3.5 million has been raised to support our students. That’s what it’s all about…making a difference in the lives of our children and young people.
None of that work would be possible without the financial support of more than 140 sponsor businesses and individuals. You’ll see their names scattered around our gyms and in our materials. Despite the impact of Hurricane Beryl on our community earlier this year, these business owners, corporations and individuals renewed their support for the tournament because they know the value of a well-educated work force. They understand the goal of our tournament is to benefit our students. Take note of who they are. I encourage you to do business with them if you have a need for their services and products. You will enjoy getting to know them.
Scroll through our website at www.texasinvitational.com for game times, locations and additional information about the tournament. Download our tournament app called Tourney Machine. It will give you constant updates on the final scores of each game.
It is our hope that you enjoy as many of the 195 games that will be played in the MTI. Cheer the student athletes who pour their heart into every second of every game. I know they feed off the energy you bring to the tournament. It’s my hope these games stir your competitive nature as much as it does mine.
Thank you for being a part of something special.

Welcome to the 21st annual McDonald’s Texas Invitational Basketball Tournament.
The McDonald’s Texas Invitational Basketball Tournament is one of Texas’ premier high school basketball tournaments and serves as a significant fundraiser for the Pasadena and the Deer Park ISD Education Foundations. The proceeds from this tournament support the academic achievement of over 49,000 students in Pasadena and over 12,000 students in Deer Park through innovative learning opportunities for our students. Since its inception in 2003, the tournament has raised over $3 million for our schools. Your attendance, support and sponsorships make it all possible.
The McDonald’s Texas Invitational Basketball Tournament guarantees you will see exciting basketball, talented teams, and elite athletes from all across Texas. While you are here, you will be introduced to our outstanding school districts and our amazing cities. You will meet some of the most hospitable volunteers who exemplify why the Pasadena/Deer Park area is a special place to live, work, and learn. The fantastic business and community support adds to the enjoyment because we could not pull off such an extraordinary event without their assistance.
On behalf of the students and staff of the Pasadena and Deer Park school districts, thank you for joining us for this annual event. While you are here, cheer loudly and proudly for your team, watch some great basketball, and enjoy your time in our communities!
