INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT Pasadena ISD continues to monitor the spread of COVID-19 and receives regular guidance from Texas Governor Greg Abbott, Texas Education Agency Commissioner Mike Morath and other local, state and federal agencies regarding response, prevention and mitigation efforts. This direction will continue to evolve based on COVID-19 conditions across the state and our local community. We will educate our students, staff, and community members about the importance of frequent hand washing; covering a cough or sneeze; not touching one’s eyes, nose, and mouth; staying home when sick; and other measures to help prevent the spread of communicable diseases. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout every campus and district facility. Pasadena ISD Custodial Services will continue to routinely clean and disinfect all facilities, including cleaning frequently touched objects and surfaces with approved germicidal agents which are effective against multiple disease-causing viruses and bacteria. During this time of increased community spread of COVID-19, Pasadena ISD asks staff and students to partner with us by taking important steps to keep Pasadena ISD healthy and safe.

• The CDC recommends COVID-19 vaccination for everyone over the age of 12. Pasadena ISD does not require vaccinations for students or staff. • Pasadena ISD will report all confirmed positive COVID-19 cases of staff and students to Harris County Public Health and the Texas Education Agency as required. • Face coverings are highly recommended for all students, staff, and visitors on Pasadena Independent School District Property. The Texas Governor’s Executive Order (GA 38) prohibits school districts from requiring staff, students or visitors to wear masks. Staff, students and visitors should maintain social distance where feasible.
