EDITOR'S NOTE

Editor's note

Wrapping up the good, the bad and the ugly that came with 2023 Phew! What a ride we had in 2023! We made it through the rollercoaster that was 2023. Election drama, cash crunch stress, the Naira note swap deadline and all the "what just happened?" moments, had us all on edge. Your social media is probably getting flooded with everyone's 2023 recap, with that popular soundtrack: “And with that, the 2023 season comes to an end,” right? (Love to see it!). Regardless of all that happened, we can say we had a good year at Parthian. Let’s crunch the good memories of 12 months into one newsletter, shall we?

Trip to Rwanda

“Project shift made this vacation possible” Dumebi said and went on to narrate how his team of 9 Parthians were rewarded with a vacation to Rwanda after they won the Project Shift competition. “How did we win? We proposed a culture shift in the company. We had workable ideas that the judges found innovative and unique.” Dumebi explained further.

Rwanda is popularly known for its genocide memorial sites, and they’ve become major tourist attraction over the years. However, Kayode who was also a recipient of Project Shift’s vacation treat said the country has “plenty good food, squeaky clean roads and ohso friendly locals.” Though he also added that the friendliness may only be towards visitors. The trip which lasted for 3 days, from July 27th - 30th, was a breath of fresh air for all 9 Project Shift winners as the previous months have be full of burden for delivering value at work. Let’s say the experience was well deserved.

I-INVEST LEADS NIGERIA’S FOREX MARKET CONVERSATION AT #NES29 At the #NES29, our Group Chairman, Mr Dotun Sulaiman (MFR), projected the positive impact of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN’s) proposed policy documentation on the rules of the foreign exchange market operation in Nigeria.

12 | Parthian | Dec 2023

The problem in Nigeria is not just the lack of rules but also the failure to enforce the existing ones.

He emphasized the importance of clear and enforceable rules for the market, citing the current lack of transparency in exchange rates as a prime example of the challenges facing Nigeria’s economy. He stated that the problem in Nigeria is not just the lack of rules but also

the failure to enforce the existing ones. One of the major highlights for us at #NES this year is having the presidential visit at i-invest booth. Dec 2023 | Parthian | 13

A little Detty December Story

It may seem as though December might not be as detty as it should have been this year… Here’s how some Parthian Staff plan to spend the festive season

OKIKI

TOHEEB

AZEEZAT

My family members are coming over this Christmas so we'll spend time making memories, while making lots of Gizdodo and chin chin!

My December isn’t Detty at all oo! It’s very clean. If anyone has any party or hangout, they can share location and I’ll show up.

I plan to have as much fun as possible this season! You’ll most likely find me attending concerts.

THE FUN-LOVER

Office Besties of the year!

And… this award goes to Jonathan and Emmanuel!

What started with an i-invest task developed into a bond beyond the workspace for Jonathan & Emmanuel. They complement each other, with Emmanuel being the extrovert, and Jonathan being the opposite, but hey, they make it work out so perfectly. Off work, they spend time watching football matches together, and

coincidentally they support the same team (Up Manchester United!...you bet they celebrate and cry together, Lol.) Fun fact, they also like to eat together. We guess good food brings people together.

INSIDE PARTHIAN

Meet the editors Fae Fae is picky with food and likes to stay in warm spaces because she’s not a friend of the cold (yeah, she asserted once that she’s not ready to japa to Canada).

Anyone would think Feyi has a ‘fire’ to her name because she’s fierce, however, she doesn’t know how to hold glances during conversations and she gets anxious in the midst of confrontations.
