From Pizza to Praise— A Pop-Up to Remember

(Text from Yvonne)

“Hello! I just want to say thank you for the Pop-Up Stop yesterday. Thank you for coming out of Jen’s Pizza Den to meet me. I feel like I have known you and been friends with you for years. I can’t help but think that will be what heaven is like. I think there is automatic connection because of Christ. WPER has helped me so much to ground me when my anxiety threatened to overtake me. I can look and point at so many times when a song, a message from Barnabas Piper, or something one of you have said while on the air that ministered to my heart. I’m grateful you are on the air. You have been one of the tools the Lord has used to strengthen my heart. Thank you so much. May the Lord bless you and keep you going strong and on the air for years to come.”

Stop 1 – Jen’s Pizza Den

We had a great time at our pop up stop at Jen’s Pizza Den! We had so many of our local listeners stop by from the Falmouth and surrounding area for a cold fresh cup of lemonade and some fellowship with the WPER team. We gave out prizes from the prize wheel and lots registered to win our big prizes that we will be giving away soon.

The Lord Is at Work—And It Shows!

(Here is an email from one of our diaper drive drop-off locations thanking us for helping them with collecting diapers.)

“I wanted to just say thank you for all of your efforts to make this diaper drive a success! We were amazed at the response and just so grateful for all the resources that your listeners so generously donated. The Lord is truly at work at WPER !”

The Lord Is at Work—And It Shows!

(Facebook Message from Cindy)

“I want to give a shout-out to evening DJ Dwayne. Earlier this week, I was listening on my way home from work, and he was talking about his daughter’s brake light problem in her car and how it was resolved. As soon as I get home, my brother is standing at his car, looking puzzled. He said the brake light won’t go off. His car is also over 20 yrs old. I looked at him and said according to what I just heard Dwayne say, it probably needs the brake cushion replaced. Guess what? That was it!! He ordered the part, and the brake light is off! God’s timing to Dwayne’s story was absolutely perfect!!! My brother says thank you, Dwayne!!”

WPER Night at the FredNats Game

We had a blast at our only Tuesday night baseball game in July! We were honored to host four of our donor families—and our ticket winner, Lucas, got to throw out the first pitch. Lucas is a big WPER fan and stops by our table at every Tuesday game. We love seeing him!

Stop 2 – King George Happy Dance Coffee Shop

This sweet little princess stopped by our Pop-Up just to snap a photo in front of the WPER van—and she stole our hearts in the process!

Brent from King George stopped by to share how much he loves listening to WPER. He supports local veterans in the area—and even brought us a flag as a gift!

Emily, owner of Happy Dance Coffee Shop, always has WPER playing in her shop!

The Burt family, longtime listeners, stopped by for a visit filled with smiles and great conversation.

Sally from Caroline County made the trip to visit WPER—she’s been a loyal listener for years and loves the station!

Jay and his family stopped by—longtime WPER listeners who absolutely love the station!

These sweet girls from Colonial Beach love listening to WPER with their mom—and when they stopped by, they couldn’t wait to snap a photo by the station van.

Strength for the Struggle

(Facebook Message from Christine)

“This morning I was struggling! My husband injured his shoulder where he can’t raise it. Doctors visits, upcoming tests, etc. Over the weekend I had a moment of no rain so I was mowing, and strained a knee. Now our dog, Biscuit has been sick for the past 2 days. Work has been stressful and it’s Monday and I’m trying to accomplish things. While I was in the midst of getting my day started after cleaning up after my dog... Thank God for WPER . I turned on the station and there was “I’m so Blessed,” centered in the knowing of Who walks with me every day!

If He brings you to it, He will see you through it. In every test big or small we gain strength and learn from it. Thank you for the enlightenment provided through the songs, stories and words every day!”

The Perfect Soundtrack for God’s Creation

(Facebook Message from Sue)

“Good morning! I just returned home from a 3 day trip to the Shenandoah Mountains. While I traveled along Skyline Drive, viewing God’s glory, I came upon your radio station. What a perfect compliment to the surroundings that truly elevated my experience. Thank you for doing God’s work!”

A Thank-you Note From Bloom

Bloom by PRC of Richmond sent us a thank-you note for the impact our listeners made through the Diaper Drive last month.

“My mom kept your radio station on all the time while I was growing up. My husband and I recently moved back into the area and it was the first station I plugged into my radio. I love music and I love Christian music. I often times find myself listening to Christian music, but I’ve never challenged myself to only listen to Christian music for a period of time so I am taking that challenge now!”

“WPER I love your station by the way!

I do dialysis 3 days a week and listening to WPER helps me stay focused and positive during treatment”

I am a long time listener, and am so grateful for your station. My husband has been in the hospital 8 times in the last three years. Every day driving to the hospital, I listened to your station. Often tears would come, but then God’s peace and hope. God bless you!!
