experiences

Event 1: We had our annual Encouragement Cafe Women’s Conference on January 25. We sold out with 900 women in attendance. Worship was done by Emerson Day and we had 25 vendors! It was a powerful time of worship, prayer, speakers and encouragement!

Messages about the conferences:

“Thank you WPER for putting this wonderful event together! I was so blessed by you all, Emerson Day, all the speakers and all who helped with this event. Thanks to those prayer warriors! I am still reeling in His hope and appreciate the prayers more than words can express!”

“I was so blessed to be a part of the women’s conference as part of the prayer team. I have never felt so used by God as I did that day! Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to serve.”

“Thank you so much for yesterday and all the hard work that you & so many put into pulling off yesterday’s conference!

I thought you’d want to know, we had a young lady in our church this morning who said she hasn’t been in church in a long time but went to the conference yesterday & it was “life changing” and she’s “starting again !! PTL !!”

Received this message with their gift: “We listen to you every day! WPER is a life line for so many people including myself. The world can be very depressing with everything that is happening. Having the music and hearing the stories makes each day a lot better. We want to thank all of you at WPER for what you do, and to each person in the WPER family who gives each month in hopes more people can find this radio station as their life line.”

From a sweet girl named Tiffany that texts us through the app regularly. We just introduced her to Positive Gold 2.0: “Thank you guys for always being there for me and giving me hope. I really appreciate it and I really appreciate all of you guys at WPER. I also appreciate what you guys do.”

From a listener on the app: “Thank you guys for always being there for me and giving me hope. I really appreciate it and I really appreciate all of you guys at WPER. I also appreciate what you guys do.”

From a sweet listener on the WPER app: “Good morning! I’ve been listening to WPER since last summer. My stepdad had pancreas cancer and I was driving from Richmond to Cobb Island Maryland weekly to help out. I found your radio station on one of my trips and feel more like I was found by your station. My faith is more present now than ever. I played your station all over mom’s house and was with my stepdad when he took his last breath. I know he is with our Lord. His battle ended here on earth and his everlasting life began on December 11. Praise God!! The struggle was real but his faith was so much greater. I want to thank you for the beautiful music as I’ve often thanked God for his hand in choosing the music I needed to hear. I play your station at home through Alexa in every room. My husband and I are in Vegas this week and I’m listening through my app on my phone. My commitment to your station is far more than 30 days. Thank you Thank you Thank you

Received a call from a listener: “She said she doesn’t know if she would have survived if it wasn’t for WPER. She lost her husband in 2014 and WPER started playing “Tell My Heart To Beat Again”. She lost her youngest son in 2021 and WPER started playing “Scars In Heaven”. When she was at her absolute lowest, WPER started playing “Weary Traveler”. And now she finds herself in the brand new release “Desperate”. She doesn’t know how but WPER always plays exactly what she needs to give her the hope to keep going!”

A sweet donor and listener called: “She is a widow that gives all she can to support the ministry. She said “Never have I been as close to God as I am right now. And it’s all because of WPER. You have changed and saved my life. Thank you for being there!”

Another message from an attendee of our women’s conference: “Theresa with all my heart I think it was so anointed and just an amazing day!! I loved it all so much! Your message was really inspiring and really spoke to my heart! We brought a full bus load and others drove. The chit chat on the way home was so positive! I really appreciate the buy one/get one. I was led to buy extra tickets for 2 new believers this year. 2 young mothers who didn’t have the extra money to buy one. One even this morning at church was there with her husband and 4 children and she shared how yesterday was life changing for her! I wanted to weep with joy! The other free one was for my Jenni. She shared around the lunch table even today how much she loved it! Emerson Day was phenomenal! So sincere and real! Wow! If I could think of a suggestion or anything critical to share I would. But I don’t have one! It’s top notch! Kudos to all who make it happen! Be blessed!”

A powerful testimony from a woman that attended the conference: “I attended the women’s conference today. I’m so thankful I was able to go! I always enjoy the different speakers, but today was especially for me. Stephanie’s story is also my story. I feel like I have failed my children over and over. I’ve said things without thinking first, I’ve lost my temper and yelled, I’ve forgotten to give them lunch money….the list is so long. Even tonight, just before writing this, I sent a text practically begging my (23 year old) daughter to forgive me for saying something that, at the time, I thought was funny. It was not funny to her and hurt her feelings.

I know exactly how Stephanie felt that day she held those box cutters in her hand. I’ve felt that way multiple times, the last “episode” I had was just a few months ago. ‘My children would be better without me. I just hurt them and screw everything up. It doesn’t matter how much I love them, I’ll just never be good enough.’ When people contemplate suicide it isn’t because they feel sorry for themselves and are being selfish, sometimes it’s the opposite. They feel sorry for the people in their lives they hurt and they want to put an end to the hurt they cause.

I needed to hear Stephanie’s story. I needed to know I’m not the only mom who feels like a failure despite her sincere love for God and her belief that he has plans for her and her children.” engagements on social
