Many of our listeners start the Challenge around the beginning of a new year. Here are some of the stories we’ve received as a result:
“I listen to WCQR every morning, and intermittently while working. I started doing the 30 day challenge but it’s not over. I’m gonna keep going.” - Kayla
“I normally listen to WCQR daily so the 30 day challenge is something I already do. However; I am challenging myself over the next 30 days to not only “listen” to WCQR, but to actually hear the words and think about how they relate to my life and current positions. I am challenging myself to follow through with the devotionals and spend more time in God’s word, and really intertwine it with my life. I am using this 30 day challenge in coordination with my New Year goal of speaking positive affirmation’s daily, to not only myself, but everyone around me. I love your station, your message and I could not get through my morning drive. Some days, I feel as though you are speaking directly to me. Thank you and God Bless you all!” - Wendy
“19 yrs ago this month, I did the 30 day challenge. I was a newlywed, pregnant with my daughter. I was in a back-slide condition, living MY life, MY way. It wasn’t working of course. I was on my way to work, channel surfing on the radio. I heard the challenge. I did want a better life for my daughter. I wanted her to hear good music — Not the TOXIC stuff I had been listening to. I’m still listening to 88.3. All of us are in church. My husband evangelises. My daughter is a great young women of the LORD. All of us are working in the church. My family is so BLESSED! Just because I took a challenge. The LORD was wooing me back. I feel he used this as part of his plan for HIS purpose for my BEST life. Thank you for being out there and challenging people. It WILL make a LIFE of a difference.” - Delina
“I started the 30-day challenge around the 2nd or 3rd of January and it calms me when I’m driving, but the best part is that my husband who is an AC/DC fan has started singing the songs from your channel. To me, that is the greatest gift there is.” - Tricia

Still Waters
“Hello, My name is Cassandra and I wanted to share something with you all. I heard the song “Still Waters” I little bit ago and just felt like I was being pulled to share this. A little over three years ago I was going through a Stem Cell Transplant to cure Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (cancer). I read Psalm 23 everyday to get through that procedure. If anyone is familiar with it, it’s a very rough process. I was in the hospital for almost two months. But God pulled me through and that chapter gave me so much hope — That God would lead me, and He did just that! Ever since that time in my life, and experiencing God at the volume I did, I haven’t turned back since. I just hope this would give someone listening hope in the darkness. Thank you and God Bless!”

The Blake Family
In January, a sweet friend, Madison, commented on our Facebook post asking for prayer for her family. Her husband had passed away just a few days before, so we sent a sympathy card with stickers and encouragement. It turns out that she and her family had moved to the area in April of 2024 and her husband was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in July. They donated to the station during Spring and Fall fundraisers, still praising God through the move, and diagnosis. After receiving the card, Madison reached out to thank us, and with song requests. We continued to stay in touch, and on February 6, the family was able to come to the station for a tour (and so we could love on them). Joseph and Tesla, both kids who love the songs and know all the songs we play, were fascinated by the studio and were able to record a couple of things with Christian’s help. In addition to the station tour and goodie bags, we blessed the family with tickets to our annual Night of Love and Laughter with Karen Morgan, as a way to hopefully bring some joy during a difficult season of life. We’ve been able to add this family to ours, and Tesla says “Rhonda’s my favorite.”
When I Fall
“Could you please play ‘When I Fall’ by Katy Nichole?
I’m going through a really rough time right now and this song really resonates with me, especially through many other times in my life. This station has kept me encouraged since I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ in September. I’m so thankful I found you all. I work in manufacturing, and listen on the app all day at work. I would also really appreciate prayers because I’m going through a painful divorce. Again thank you so much, for all that you do, God bless.”
Souvenirs & Unique Names
Late January, we posted on social media, asking people to share their unique names that are NEVER on any souvenirs in gift shops. We got lots of comments, with names like Zelda, Alistair, Jerrilyn, and many more! Christian & Amanda also did a call-in, and had the most listeners call in to share their unique names.
To go an extra step, we responded to each unique name with a custom graphic of their name on a mug. There were about 125 unique name mug graphics that we made!

But to take it even a step further.... we selected 5 names that would be IMPOSSIBLE to find on any souvenir, and asked our local craft vendor to create custom keychains for each of those names: Sabra, Starlete, Aletheia, LeDelhia, and Anitra.
We’ve delivered two so far... Aletheia says:
“Thank you all so much for my sweet gifts that you all delivered! I absolutely love them! Y’all are too sweet.”

Sabra's was dropped off at her house, and she said: "Thank you so much for the gifts! I loved everything and the T-shirt just happened to be my favorite color!!"

WCQR’s annual Night of Love and Laughter was a hit, with almost 800 attendees. Comedian Karen Morgan brought the laughs, and WCQR brought the love of Jesus. Guests were entertained with a free photo booth, and a chance to win an overnight stay at The Carnegie Hotel. What a great night!

WCQR Speaks to Nonbeliever
Tommy, a listener, stopped by the station for a visit, saying “WCQR plays all day long in my house, and my son plays his musical instruments along with the songs.” He also told us about how he will play WCQR in his work truck, and that a younger coworker, after listening with him for several days, said he didn’t understand Christianity, and Tommy was able to present the Gospel to him.

Listener Shares His Story
“A listener named Steven, who is a recovering addict with Recovery Soldier’s Ministries, called to share his story with us. He was so excited to tell us he finally got a smart phone (took him 5 years), and that he just downloaded the WCQR app! The excitement in his voice was contagious and he sounded like a kid at Christmas who just received his favorite toy - made our morning!”
Message of Thankfulness
“I just wanted to say thank you! Thank you for being here!
I have been struggling for the last few days. Last night was bad, really bad. I told my husband that I was done with this life, I don’t want to live it anymore. I told him I am tired of the struggling. The struggling through physical pain and the struggle that we are facing financially.
I prayed..... for the struggle to stop!
Then this morning, just a few minutes ago, I got in my car to go to work and the 1st voice I heard was Rhonda, and she said the struggle will not last forever and everything in His time (or something like that).
I sure did need that!! Thank you Rhonda and thank you 88.3 family!
