Event 5:
WCQR had the annual event Jingle & Mingle on Saturday the 14th! It was a great turnout, with lots of hot chocolate, cookies, hugs, laughs, and smiles! WCQR was joined by Appalachian Community Federal Credit Union, University Baptist Church of Johnson City, CrossPath Church, and Strong Tower Baptist Church. Santa was a joy for all kids - well, most kids. Guests could interact with the churches, enjoy hot cocoa, take lots of pictures, and walk around downtown Johnson City and look at the decorated Christmas trees.

DECEMBER
We followed up with one of our listeners that messaged on our app a few months ago. He said that a friend had encouraged him to listen to the station for 7 days, so we checked in to see how he was doing, and encourage him to take the 30day challenge. He ended up visiting the station to pick up a bible!

experiences

On Wednesday, Dec 4th, the WCQR team visited Elk River Evergreens , a tree farm in NC to support them by purchasing a real Christmas tree. We selected the tree, had a snowball fight, and afterwards, enjoyed coffee and cookies at a local coffee shop.

Tina , a listener and donor, surprised WCQR with a visit, bringing little goodie bags for all the staff members, including her handmade crochet crosses. She is a waitress at a local pizza restaurant and leaves a crocheted cross for each of her tables. Tina decided to share them with us, too!

We received many gifts, cards and goodies from our listener and donor family members and weren’t always able to take photos with them. We’d like to say “thank you” to Teresa, Mary Etta, Melissa, Terry, and everyone else that stopped by with kindness.
Donors and volunteers
Doug & Shelley blessed us with some Christmas treats!

Our mailbox was filled with SO many Christmas cards with kind words, prayers, and stories. We felt truly blessed by our listener family.

These are cards that we received from one of the homeschool groups that visited in November.
