When Prayer Goes Both Ways

“One of the things that has touched me most since joining Spirit FM happened during my very first prayer call.

A gentleman called in asking for immediate prayer. I was honored to pray with him, and after we finished, he surprised me by asking if he could pray for me. Of course, I said yes.

As he prayed, I found myself fighting back tears. Here I was, thinking I was helping and encouraging him, and instead, he ended up encouraging me.

That simple moment reminded me that Spirit FM is so much more than a radio station. It’s a family of believers who genuinely care for one another and carry each other’s burdens in prayer.

We had a Mother’s Day Getaway contest where we had 125 nominations from people nominating a mom or mother-figure in their life who deserved a nice getaway and here were some of the nominations and our winner as well!

Honoring a Faithful Heart We recently had the opportunity to surprise our longest-serving volunteer, Stacey, with some sweet treats as a small way to say thank you. Her reaction was priceless! Stacey has faithfully served this ministry for years, and her dedication, encouragement, and unwavering support have been a blessing to everyone at Spirit FM. Thank you, Mrs. Stacey, for your faithful service and for believing in the mission of this ministry. We are so grateful for you!

A Sweet Visit from a Faithful Listener We recently had the pleasure of welcoming a special visitor to the Spirit FM office, Debbie, a long-time listener from Waynesboro. She stopped by to say hello and she didn’t come empty-handed! She brought some delicious sweet treats for our team, along with plenty of encouragement to go along with them.

Moments like these remind us that this ministry is about so much more than radio. It’s about the relationships God builds and the lives He touches every day through the message of hope shared on Spirit FM. Thank you, Debbie, for your kindness, encouragement, and faithful support. You blessed our team more than you know!

A Community of Compassion On May 30, Spirit FM hosted our annual Diaper Drive, and the response was incredible! Across all six locations—Galax, Appomattox, Roanoke, Lynchburg, Pulaski, and Staunton/Waynesboro—our communities showed up in a big way to support local pregnancy centers. The generosity of our listeners was evident everywhere we looked, as donations poured in to help meet the needs of families and babies throughout the region. Thank you to everyone who donated and helped make this year’s Diaper Drive such a success.

Together, we’re sharing the love of Christ in a practical and meaningful way.

June 3rd we had our first ever ICE CREAM POP-UP event in Daleville, VA at MooMoo’s Delights. Doug, Robyn and Joseph had an amazing time getting to meet new people and enjoy some sweet treats!!

June 17th we had our second Ice Cream POP-UP event at Klines Dairy Bar and it was such a great time seeing some of our faithful listeners while enjoying some sweet ice cream!

Live & Laughing June 6th Jackie and Joseph had the great opportunity to head out to Calvary Assembly of God, in Beckley, WV, for the Live & Laughing show featuring Jonnie W., Ed Wiley and Christian McCartney! It was a night filled with laughter and great conversation with our wonderful listeners!!

Moore’s Family Picnic On June 20th Spirit FM had the amazing opportunity to be a part of the Moore’s Electrical and Mechanical family picnic at English Park in Altavista, VA! It was so much fun and such a beautiful day to be there!

Salem Ridge Yaks Game Wednesday, June 24th, Spirit FM got out in the Salem community for a night of food, fun and of course BASEBALL with the Salem Ridge Yaks!! It was such a great day! We had laughs, great conversation, and saw some familiar faces while also meeting new people in our listening area!

“God used Spirit FM to encourage me through the hardest challenge of my life. A year and a half ago, I was accidentally injured which caused a spinal fluid leak. I had excruciating headaches and vomiting when I would sit or stand. No one could diagnose me for over a month, and test after test offered no answers. God encouraged me through your station to praise Him no matter my circumstances, that He was still worthy and good, and that whether He healed me or not, He would faithfully carry me through. Finally a local headache clinic diagnosed me just in time to prevent me falling into a coma. After a couple surgeries and hospitalizations, God completely healed me just in time to save my job and led me to forgive who injured me. Now, my husband and I have a baby boy and a testimony that God can do anything and turn around the most hopeless of situations. Thank you, SpiritFM, for walking with me through that time.”
