Right Song at the Right Time

(This was from a dear sweet donor who is a long time listener and loves Joy FM!)

“If you don’t think you folks don’t play the right song at the right time, it’s incredible...I was leaving my doctor’s office this morning, teary as he is retiring, and this was my last visit. As I was leaving the parking lot you played ‘I’m not giving up!’ Joy FM always seems to play the right song at the right time.. Thank you so much for being there!!”

Meet Elliott!

This is Elliott, and he has to have his Joy FM on to sleep while Mama’s going to work. God bless y’all!

Elliott’s mama, Regina, told us that one day she was getting ready to leave for work and Elliott just kept whimpering. Finally she realized she hadn’t turned on Joy FM for him. As soon as she did, he went over and curled up to sleep.

Surprise Visit

We had a surprise visit from two lovely ladies—Vicki and Cindy! Vicki, a longtime Joy FM listener from Texas, was visiting family in North Carolina and wanted to stop by to meet Wendy.

A while back, Wendy helped Vicki find a song she’d heard on Joy FM and even sent her a package with Joy FM swag and a lyric gift. Touched by the kindness, Vicki wanted to thank Wendy in person.

Since Wendy is still recovering from surgery, I called her so she and Vicki could chat—it was such a sweet moment! Then I gave them a tour of the station. What began as a surprise visit became a truly special memory for us all.

Gold City Hits and Heritage Concert

On October 12, John, Melody, and Meredith attended the Gold City Hits and Heritage concert in Mount Airy, NC. The concert featured Gold City, Joseph Habedank, and The Hoppers. John and Melody were able to welcome the crowd, and the Joy FM team loved getting to speak with so many listeners! It was a wonderful evening of dynamic music and fellowship!

Fundraisers wouldn’t be possible without the faithful support of our volunteers! They show up ready to serve—often putting in marathon shifts to help us reach hearts and homes with hope. We’re beyond grateful for their dedication and servant hearts.

"Thank you! Joy FM means alot to me. My husband has been gone almost 14 years and How Great Thou Art was his favorite song; in fact, he told me he wanted me to play that song at his funeral. Talk about hard! I did it though. When I'm feeling down and missing him the station will play that song just at the right time. He was a Viet Nam veteran, Purple Heart recipient and died of lung cancer caused by Agent Orange. I always support your station and made 3 donations during your fund raiser. About 12 years ago, Joy FM produced CD’s of the 15 most requested songs played that year and gave it to supporters for contributing funds for a day of programing. It was a wonderful gesture and one so appreciated. I still have that CD in my current car and listen to it often.

I am retired now but I will continue to support Joy FM and just know that I still get a Blessing and joy hearing about the love of Jesus through the words in the music you play. May God Bless you all.”
