“I got a card of encouragement out of my mailbox today sent by someone there named Donna with some inspirational stickers. What Donna didn’t know was that we buried my Daddy a week ago today. He had lived in a nursing home 2 years after having had a major stroke and life had been so sad for me watching him endure this. I have truly known what depression was. I don’t know how Donna could know how much a card would mean to me in this season except that Jesus led her to send it. I’ve been a supporter of JOY FM for years, and it’s moments like these that makes me want to keep on supporting you guys! Thanks and God bless you and the radio station!”

A Message of Hope for a Grieving Family
(This came in my email concerning a Day Sponsor that was done for a donor in memory of their dear friend. The wife loved the segment.)
“Thank you; it was great! Monica and her family rented a cabin in Pigeon Forge, TN last week to remember Gerald, since they had many fond memories of time spent there together before Gerald’s accident. I asked my son (Andrew) to download the JOY FM app so they could hear the day sponsor segment. Monica let us know how appreciative she was to hear Gerald remembered in such a wonderful way through JOY-FM’s message. Thanks for all y’all did to ease their pain of loss. It meant a lot to Monica, Brittany, Katelyn and the rest of the family.”
Being a Blessing Every Day
“Just wanted to say thank you to Donna for the card I received in the mail. As always with God, it was right on time to bless me when there are a lot of things going on. I’ve been listening to Joy FM almost since the beginning. Thank you for being a blessing every day!”

“I thank you for the ministry you have with Joy FM as the worship and praise music and devotionals have been a big blessing and encouragement for me to listen to every day. It was an honor to be able to contribute to the ministry and participate in sharing the gospel with others in the listening area. May God continue to receive all the glory! God bless you and everyone who makes up the Joy FM team!!”

“WOW !!! exactly what I have been looking for !!
My name is David Pennington, “Southern Gospel” music has been a huge part of my life. My father sang and recorded locally in the Delmarva area with 5 separate quartets for more than 50 years.
I live in Alberta, and work in Petersburg, VA. I have WPER saved in 2 spots on my radio 89.3 and 90.5 in case one is staticky lol). I know we can and should praise God in many ways and I truly enjoy WPER’s format, but the music in your format just holds a very special place in my heart.
I owe finding you to Frankie (GM) at WPER. I emailed him a “throw back” request and mentioned my love for this kind of music. He responded with a link to your station. I just heard that you have a Chesterfield station that I might be able to hear at home and definitely should hear at work...YAY !!! God Bless all of you and thank you for this ministry!!”
“I’m grateful this Thanksgiving season for Joy FM, and also a shout out to Melody for being a special blessing to me several times this week. There was one day in particular that her morning prayer and devotions was exactly what I needed for encouragement. Continue doing God‘s ministry because you are so appreciated and we are thankful for you!!!!!! God bless you all at Joy FM!”

“Thank you for your beautiful thanksgiving greeting! As you probably know I live in Georgia. I found your station years ago while visiting the Carolina’s. I am an 83 year old minister, and have been in ministry for 63 years. Music is a great way to preach the gospel. Keep presenting the good news!!!”

“What a nice, kind way to give thanks. This holiday season I have an unexplained ocular disease, myasthenia gravis, that has no cure and is not contagious. It stumped my ophthalmologist but upon further testing I am thankful that God chose this time in my life to experience this disease. With His help and guidance of the Holy Spirit this will be a wonderful journey. I call this mg, but My God is bigger and all will be well. Oh how I thank God for Joy FM. Maybe this Thanksgiving you too will see something wonderful in the midst of challenging circumstances. Joy to the world! Great things He has done.”

After recovering from back surgery, Joy FM’s Community Care Coordinator, Wendy, has returned to the office — and the team is thrilled to have her back. She has already jumped right back into caring, serving, and loving people the way she always does.
Wendy is pictured here with Shelley (right), the Network Donor Liaison who helps keep hearts connected across the Joy FM family.

Josh Armstrong’s daughter, Evie, had a day off from school — and this is how she decided to spend it — at Joy FM!

To ring in the Christmas season, Joy FM shared a fun animated video on social media featuring Music and Production Director Brendan Beavers. The video was inspired by classic stop-motion Christmas specials and created using Nano Banana Pro, Photoshop, and Sora.

Joy FM welcomed Adam McCain, Chief Operating Officer for Positive Alternative Radio and a familiar voice to many through his Saturday co-hosting with Rhonda Lacey, for a morning visit with the team. His time here highlighted something people value deeply: this ministry is guided by real people who care, listen, and lead with purpose. Visits like this help keep the staff encouraged and focused on serving listeners well.

Meredith Jones, Joy FM’s Director of Business Development, and Josh Armstrong from the station’s Midday Show spent the day visiting several of the ministry’s business partners across North Carolina. They met with Greg Davis, President of AE Global in Charlotte, NC; Darrell St. Romain, a sales and leadership coach, along with Shelly, whose family owns E-Z Way Auto in Lincolnton, NC; Joe and Tiffany Ingham, the husband-and-wife owners of Cornerstone Bookstore in Boone, NC; and Mary Ann Freeman, the travel professional behind Cruise Planners in Morganton, NC.
