Event 1:

The Joy FM crew had an amazing time at the Asheboro Parade this year. We had our beautiful Mrs. Claus (aka Donna) along with our very cheerful Elf (aka Josh). The elf had a special helper to help spread Christmas cheer: Miss Evie Armstrong! We also had help from two of our happiest volunteers, brother and sister, Robbie and Keli Pierson.

The night was cold, yet beautiful and festive!

We had Joy FM fans everywhere we looked, and we gave out every single piece of candy, plus stickers!

DECEMBER

Event 2:

The Gaither Homecoming was an amazing Christmas Event. It was a night full of love, laughter, as we all worshipped together singing Christmas Carols and listening to favorite Christmas songs, and a few surprises! This event would make even the Grinch get into the Christmas Spirit! Our Joy FM family gave out lots of t-shirts, devotions, and helped several download the app to their phone. More importantly, we gave out encouragement, hope, and hugs to several of our listeners who stopped by to chat.

Our Joy FM team consisted of Brendan, Wendy, Brendan’s wife, Hannah, Wendy’s husband, Alan, and Josh.

Event 3:

Our Joy FM team went to see an awesome Christmas performance by Jason Crabb at Pinedale Christian Church

We had some amazing visitors at the station who not only blessed us with their visut, but also brought us presents. We have the best listeners and donors!

These dear sweet friends, volunteers, and donors, Thomas and Debbie Slack dropped off some Christmas presents for all of us!

DECEMBER

We had some sweet friends, Darrell and Luda Richards who came to visit. They brought a baby gift for Candi and some cookies for us all!

Our dear sweet Helen dropped by to deliver Christmas presents to everyone.

Wendy did a Community Matters episode on this ministry, Understanding The Word Ministries. They personally engrave these Bibles and give them out for free to anyone who is genuinely wanting to learn more about the Bible. They sent me one of their Bibles. They pray and anoint each Bible has they get sent out. He told me that God’s goal is 8 billion Bibles to be placed out into the world.

Giving back to our Community Matters. For the past year, Joy FM has worked to establish a relationship with Forsyth Tech’s Communications Department. Through this relationship we have been able to discover new, local candidates for hire, as well as volunteers looking for service hours, and exposure to our radio ministry.

John Long gave back to the community, and Forsyth Tech, by conducting mock interviews with five Communications students, in order to better prepare them for the workforce and hopefully a future in technology and radio!

From our Business Development Director, Trish Stanbery:

Christina, at KR Truck Repair, and I have built a great relationship over the past two years. This year has been really tough on their business and she had shared with me a while back that they were making some budget cuts, but planned to stay at Joy FM.

I went to see her and gave her a surprise and delight from Joy FM and me. I surprised her and their team with 2 dozen amazing assorted cupcakes from Maddie’s Bakery, along with our devotional, and Joy FM phone charging pack. Also, John, Josh and Melody helped create a video clip of appreciation for their support and it put the biggest smile on her face.

She shared with me that God brought them 5 new businesses and they all told her they heard about them on Joy FM!!

This is why we do what we do! We love seeing God bless those who in return bless our station!

We were celebrating baby girl Payne at First Baptist Church Summerfield! They gave her a shower and included the Joy FM ladies crew and some of our special volunteers!

On the back row, we have the best volunteer in the world, Teri Pierson and the sweet Robin Dowdy. The second and the best row is the incredible Casey Hostetler, the sourest of us all Wendy Bundy, our Mama Melody Vaughn, the fabulous star of the party Candi Payne, and the best all around, MVP, Donna Carpenter. Last but not least, the sweetest soul, Keli Pierson is in the front.

Everette and Miriam Selby who are just the most wonderful people dropped off a gift card for coffee!month. They are some of our beautiful donors who love Joy FM!
