Hawks Nest Quiz Bowl

Congratulations to Olin Bose who finished tied for 6th place in the U.S History Bee National Championship. The Championship for last year’s 8th-graders was rescheduled from June to December in response to COVID travel and health restrictions; The competition was held in a virtual setting for the 72 students who had qualified for the Championship Tournament.

Olin was among the Top-5 scorers in the Championship Preliminary Rounds, and moved on to the 36-person second round. Olin, was one of the two top-scorers in his second-round matches and was one of ten to advance to the final championship round (and the only New Jersey student to make it that far).

Additionally, Olin was the Top Scorer of all three Mountain Lakes teams participating in the 2021 Hawks Nest Quiz Bowl Tournament and the 20th-highest scorer overall among the 168 participants from 42 teams in the on-line competition, which included academic teams from around the country.

Olin’s Final Standings are as follows:
