New Addition:

Meet Brian “Hutch” Hutcheson Director of PARISHarts In July, Brian “Hutch” Hutcheson joined the Parish family as the new Director of PARISHarts. Hailing from Washington state with his wife Whitney and daughter Gryphon (Parish class of ’27), Hutch never dreamed that when he accepted the job last winter that he’d step on Parish’s campus to a “whole new world” to navigate on top of a new job. While he’s getting to experience Parish from a different angle, he shares his eagerness to get to know the whole of Parish.

“My family and I have found ourselves warmly welcomed into Parish and the Dallas community. I’ve really loved the opportunity to get to know the faculty and spend time in their classrooms. It’s been especially fun to see the Rosettes and Drumline perform during halftime football games. I can’t wait to experience those evenings with the whole community.”

Hutch previously served as the Director of Fine & Performing Arts at Eastside Preparatory School in Kirkland, Washington, overseeing all 5th – 12th grade arts related programming and events. In his time at Eastside, he was instrumental in developing and facilitating collaboration between the school’s maker space and the arts program, and was a part of the planning and logistics of constructing its 90,000 sq. ft. performing arts space. Needless to say, he knows something about change, growth and flexibility in an arts program and his experience has definitely come in handy this fall.

“The unusual start has also had some advantages,” said Hutcheson. “We’ve had to rethink how we share the arts, opening opportunities to experiment in new types of programming [and streaming performances]. I imagine some of this will continue long after the pandemic as a way to share the work of our students both in process and as a final product.”

Beyond the arts change initiatives in his previous roles, Hutch led peer mentoring programs and professional development training as well as experiential education trips to New York, Los Angeles and the Shakespeare Festival in Oregon. Prior to Eastside, he served as an Upper School art and design teacher at Charles Wright Academy, Middleborough Public Schools and the International Community School in Bangkok, Thailand. He also served as the arts curator for Rotator Magazine. He is a graduate of Biola University (B.S. in Science with Honors) and Rhode Island School of Design (M.A. in Teaching with Honors).

“Hutch distinguished himself in a talented pool of candidates with his strategic-minded thinking, creative spirit, capacity to build relationships within and outside the department, and understanding the importance of a student-centered program,” said Michelle Lyon, Associate Head of School at Parish.

According to Hutch, he was drawn to Parish’s entrepreneurial spirit, the ability to build upon an established and robust arts program, and the excitement and opportunities that await with the opening of the Noble Family Performing Arts Center. “Each tour I’ve been a part of shows huge progress and I’m confident the new facilities will unleash our programs to perform at their full potential.”

From your front porch to the classroom . . . #ParishConnectsUs When Parish let out for Spring Break last March, we never dreamed that it would be nearly six months until we got to see each other again, in person!

In the spring, when Dallas began to shelter in place, Parish gathered its forces and began to plan, not only for the crucial academic needs of our students, but for the social/emotional health of the entire Parish family. As part of the School’s planning, a critical piece has been the ability to keep the community connected, no matter if Parish students are on-campus, learning from a distance in their homes, or in a hybrid model. And, so was born #ParishConnectsUs as part of the School’s Belonging from a Distance platform. The program is intended to support our students and their families, faculty and staff by providing resources, such as social and emotional content, and access via its centerED programming, as well as provide opportunities for connection, even if in the virtual form. One early instance of the latter was the Front Porch Photo sessions by school photographer Wiley Williams, who drove to every zip code that our school represents to capture Parish families in their front yard or on their porch for pre-arranged photo sessions.

Of course, summer came (and flew by), and like schools and businesses worldwide, Parish spent the summer preparing for its re-entry to school amidst the ever-evolving COVID-19 pandemic as well as the social justice unrest that our nation and our community was facing. From informational pandemic Town Halls to Inclusive Community listening sessions with students, alumni, faculty, staff and parents, Parish administration worked throughout the summer to keep the community connected so that we could all come Together Again as soon as reasonably possible, and in the most positive and productive way possible.

As Dave Monaco, Allen Meyer Family Head of School, frequently notes to the community, it is our deepest desire for all of the Parish community to return to campus as one, big family as soon as possible.

“COVID-19 remains a serious issue, and the health and safety of our community members is our highest priority,” said Monaco. “We continue to be diligent in our efforts to both keep our community physically healthy as well as sustain the emotional health of our faculty, staff and students, who are all putting forth a tremendous amount of energy to stay engaged, focused and joyful during a very trying time for our entire world.”

In August, the School introduced “Together Again: Parish’s Plan for the Safe Reopening of Our Campuses.” The staggered reopening of the campus, beginning with Lower School in early September, reflects the work of dozens of people – from Board members to administrators, to faculty and staff leaders – who worked tirelessly since early May to envision how we safely rejoin on our campuses.

While we’re not all on campus all the time, and not at the same time in the case of Middle and Upper School students who are currently (as of this article) doing school in a hybrid model, we are committed to keeping our Parish family connected and supported, and continuing

to guide students to become creative learners and bold leaders prepared to impact a complex global society.

We kicked off the 2020-21 school year with the Panther Nation Block Party, which went virtual with a 5K Fun Run and Walk. Typically, the Block Party is on campus and is an opportunity for parents to gather for a few hours of fellowship and enjoy a live pep rally featuring all the many student groups for the fall including athletics, arts, STEM and more. This year, instead of gathering on campus, families picked up their Panther Nation Block Party swag bags at a special drive-thru supply pick-up day. The bag included goodies and information for the aforementioned opportunities, as well as t-shirts for those who participated in the virtual 5K Fun Run and Walk. The 5K included contests for Most Spirited Family, Best Socks, Best Dressed Pet and Best “Where’s Pete” Sighting. Once the run/walk was completed, Panther Nation launched its online Pep Rally video to the community.

“It was so great to see our families walking through the many neighborhoods around town, and joining in together to make an unusual start of the school year special,” said Diana Hamilton, Assistant Director of Development. “It’s definitely not what I envisioned for Panther Nation Block Party with its inaugural launch in summer of 2019, but the Parish community knows how to come together to support its students, no matter the circumstances that face us!”

Raj Anthony ’21 reflects on how the last eight months have brought change to so many aspects of his and his peers’ school experience: “When we left for Spring Break, we did not know that we would lose our opportunity to personally wish the best to our friends in the Graduating Class of 2020. Although the attendance of Parish games/events has needed to be paused, students have found ways to become better connected online, which for the Class of 2021 will hopefully keep us all even closer once we graduate in just a few short months. Parish teachers and staff have also worked extremely hard to keep classes informative and fun – just like before – which is something we students deeply appreciate. They set the tone for the positive energy and optimism everyone has. While the year may not be what we imagined or desired, we have to be grateful that faculty and staff are doing as much as possible to maintain the true Parish Experience.”

Raj is also playing a part in helping his fellow students and Parish family during this time: His Parish Leadership Institute LEAD project – Panther Help Desk – has been a different source of connectedness for our community since spring. Raj and his board of Parish student volunteers serve as personal technology consultants to those in the community (including Parish grandparents) that have questions or issues regarding a myriad of personal technology devices, or who simply need general technology advice. When Raj envisioned his LEAD project, he had no idea that the pandemic would create an even more crucial need for the Panther Help Desk services, especially now that the majority of the world now depends on the virtual space for meetings, events and fellowship.

According to Maddie, the most challenging part of being on the opt-out platform is not being able to have the social contact that your peers around you are enjoying. But, she added that there are unexpected positives of opting out as well: “Even though I missed school, being at home can have its positives. For instance, spending time with your family, not having to get ready for school, or not having to wear a mask all day while staying safe.”

Sydney and Maddie switched to the hybrid model in October and rejoined their peers on campus.

“Being back on campus again and interacting with friends and teachers was certainly a morale boost,” commented Kristen.

“Honestly, it was seamless; I have been very impressed with the flexibility of the teachers and school leadership in managing both platforms.”

“Through Panther Help Desk, I hope to positively impact the entire Parish community,” said Raj. “Our team of volunteers have been very happy to help those who have reached out and I’m making plans to sustain the service after graduation.”

Clicks, videos, pivots, turns, stumbles, falls, joys, successes – they’ve all happened in various forms since March, and while it hasn’t been easy nor ideal each and every time along the way, we are so proud of our Parish community for embracing the many efforts to make school as normal as possible with so many varying elements to consider (health authority guidelines, student academic and social/emotional needs, individual needs of at risk community members, and more).

As anyone could attest during this unusual time, our parents need a special shout out for all they’ve done. Not only are they adjusting to their own new schedules and work models, they are doing it all while juggling the challenges and changes of their children's new learning environment(s) and academic schedules.

“We made the difficult decision as a family to start the school year in the opt out program,” said Kristen Redeker, parent of Sydney (’24) and Maddie (’26) Phillips. “While opting out was difficult for the kids socially and emotionally, we so appreciated that it was available.”

The family is praying that they can continue in the hybrid model, but are very grateful to have the choice to opt out if it becomes necessary.

Speaking to parent outlook, the Parents’ Association, led by Suzanne Eades (2019-20 president) and Jennifer Willis (current 2020-21 president) also deserves a special thanks for all they’ve done to “shift” their plans to support our faculty and staff, and to bring a little fun to campus for our students, even when they themselves can’t be there. In the spring they had to halt so many activities, but they re-focused their efforts to find ways to best support our families during unprecedented times, including, but not limited to, virtual babysitting and story times with our faculty’s young children so their parents could focus their efforts on teaching our students from home.

This fall, the PA shifted their traditional faculty/staff birthday and holiday lunches to out-of-doors, grab and go options with food trucks, celebrating the faculty and staff with a special meal and a muchappreciated break. The team also didn’t let COVID spoil all the fun that comes with Spooky Saturday. Even though the traditional event had to be canceled, the PA brought lots of smiles to students on both campuses with “Spooktacular” outdoor decorations and goody bag treats for our Lower School students. And, they're still going strong in preparation for the annual Gala event in April – it might look different, but you can guarantee it will be an event to remember! Needless to say, the Parish Parents’ Association is the BEST in town!

Like many moms and dads out there, Kristen was also appreciative of the regular schedule of class times, whether virtual or in person, which she believes has provided needed structure for her girls during a time of so much pandemic-related uncertainty.

We each look forward . . . to a new day, a new experience, a vaccine, a birthday party, a vacation, a movie in a movie theater, a class field trip, and so many other things that occupy our thoughts of the future and a “normal” world. Until then, we will continue to work together as a community, a family, to create a joyful and meaningful Parish experience for our most treasured assets – our students!

“Being able to log into their normal classrooms in real time allowed them to feel like they were still a part of their classes and not missing out entirely,” she added.

(continued from page 2) Interview with Hutch: PB: Welcome! You’ve arrived at Parish during an unusual year. How is PARISHarts adapting during the COVID-19 pandemic?

Hutch: Despite the challenges we face with the pandemic, the arts continue to be everywhere at Parish. Creativity is in the fabric of this community, so while adjusting to the limitations has been a challenge for faculty and students, they have also risen to the occasion and found new ways to create and experience art. In addition to wearing masks and adding more spacing, the adaptations have actually provided opportunities to stretch our artistic expression. Take for example the Middle School Musical, Tuck Everlasting, which was performed outdoors and broadcast virtually. Our students were freed from the limitations of a stage perimeter in building the set, and they made use of Parish’s open green space, a nearby creek and our actors even climbed a tree in the production. This is just one instance of how the arts have forged ahead. Keep an eye on @parishepiscopalarts on Instagram to see more this year of the student creative process.

Hutch: I love the vertical concrete forms on the front of the building, and I look forward to experiencing the light they provide the gallery space. I’m also excited about the presence of two performance spaces and the flexibility they will provide for us in accommodating the logistics of a calendar packed with student performances.

PB: How will the Noble effect PARISHarts?

Hutch: The facility will transform the student arts experience across the board – from the gallery space to the dance studios, from the film room to the two performance spaces. The new facility will allow us to better manage and expand performance opportunities for students, from the smaller Black Box Theater to the larger performance hall. A bigger facility means more students experiencing the arts!

PB: How do you express yourself artistically?

Hutch: Creative-making runs deep in my family. My own body of work ranges from large-format relief printmaking to small public art installations. I love to paint whenever I travel, so there is a watercolor kit packed in almost every bag I own, and I also love to fold paper.

One of my favorite classes I’ve ever designed and taught was called paper engineering in which students explored the medium of paper, from basic origami to modular constructions based off of platonic solids.

PB: What features of the Noble Family Performing Arts Center are you most excited about?

Construction Update - Noble Family Performing Arts Center The stage is being set for the opening of the new Noble Family Performing Arts Center. While it is not yet time for the curtain to rise on this new chapter for PARISHarts, the silhouette of the 60,000-square-foot building provides a glimpse of how it will change the face of our campus and ultimately the experience of our students. Construction is on schedule, and with weather and materials availability permitting, the Noble Center will open its doors and new possibilities in the arts to the community at the beginning of the 2021-22 school year.

Ask Pete – What do Boosters do for Parish?

We are so fortunate to have three great booster clubs at Parish Episcopal School. Through annual membership, each club and its members, who are dedicated parents and friends of Parish, provide financial and community spirit support for Athletics, STEM and Arts programs.

The Arts People (TAP) provides support for PARISHarts programming as well as extracurricular and community activities. With the opening of the Noble Family Performance Center in the spring of 2021, TAP is looking forward to all that’s in store for the future of PARISHarts.

The 2020-21 school year marks the third year for sySTEMs, a booster club that seeks to elevate, support and grow Parish’s science, math and computer science departments as well as the signature STEM program by strengthening awareness of STEM opportunities and activities.

Athletic Booster Club supports the award-winning Parish athletic program (22 sports strong), promoting team spirit and recognizing our Parish student athlete’s participation, sportsmanship and achievement.

Here are just a few examples of some amazing things that these three booster clubs have accomplished around campus with the funds that membership dues and donations afford: The Arts People:

• Arts Showcase, which brings together parents and students from all divisions to celebrate their arts accomplishments • Providing flowers for sale at performance events • Technology for Lower School music classes • Goody bags for traveling PARISHarts students • Sponsoring holiday receptions on both campuses • Special notes to faculty, staff and the Class of 2020 Seniors • During the 2020-21 Coronavirus academic shift, helping with violin rentals for 3rd graders in lieu of choir sySTEMs: • Canopies and umbrellas for outdoor, socially-distanced teaching of everything from chemistry to "kitchen lessons" at the Hillcrest campus • Ozobot® robots to support virtual learning for Middle School Robotics classes • Rolling carts and supplies for various Lower School science projects to allow students to have their own materials in order to maintain social distancing • Lab equipment for Physics and Anatomy & Physiology courses as well as 5th grade iCAN Innovate STEM class • New iPads for Hillcrest Beasley STEM Center • Upper School sySTEMs Engineering Award Grant made to support hands-on educational activities for student in science, technology and engineering classes • Robotics and Rover Team Posters Athletic Booster Club:

• Helped bring Panther Blue turf to our baseball field • Hosted the Ed Snyder Memorial Golf Tournament to raise approximately $32,000.00 for the Gloria H. The Parish Episcopal School Alumni Association supports the mission of Parish Episcopal School, acts as a liaison between the School and its former students, offers beneficial and stimulating activities for alumni, and maintains and promotes alumni participation in the development of the School. The Parish Alumni Board is made up of 12 alumni representing diverse backgrounds (graduation decades, professions, ethnicities, etc.) They meet on campus 10 times per year (for now, virtually) and are the voice of our Parish alumni. Our 2020-21 Parish Alumni Board members encourage any alumni to reach out to them directly with any thoughts, concerns or questions.

distillery and restaurant, Lockwood Distilling Co., in Richardson, TX. It is a place where guests gather to enjoy crafted food and beverages with local flare. They have two children, Russ and Jane, who can be spotted helping out at the restaurant. Evan makes the spirits in house and Sally does a lot of the marketing and community service events. Check out their Hibiscus Lemonade aka "Panther Punch", specially crafted for Parish's 2020 Virtual Homecoming Week. ⑤ Christina (Mantzuranis) Helwig - Christina lives in Dallas with her husband Carter and 12-year-old son Griffin, and two-year-old twins, Porter and Hadleigh. She’s the Sr. VP of Global Marketing for AdvoCare and is grateful for AdvoCare Spark to get her through the busier days.

She most enjoys time with her family outside and traveling the world for work. She visited all seven continents in one year and cannot wait to take her kids to them one day.

In her work and daily life, she holds close the Parish tenets of Wisdom, Honor and Service, and countless life lessons from former Head of School Gloria Snyder to cultivate meaningful relationships and help others. ⓬ Krissi Osborn - Just over four years ago, Krissi moved to Barcelona,

Spain, for love, found an amazing job and now considers Barcelona home. She is the Sr. Manager on the Global HR Team at Werfen, an in-vitro diagnostics company headquartered in Barcelona with more than 5,000 employees in 30 countries. She speaks Spanish fluently and Catalan pretty well. Her career has allowed her to learn and grow professionally, and provided her great opportunities to travel – U.S. Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Thailand, South Korea, Hong Kong and Australia – and get to know and work with people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures. She spends time fully embracing (and loving) the Catalan and Spanish culture, and perfecting her paella recipe. Krissi got engaged last year to the love of her life, Jordi! They were set to get married in 2020 in a “casa rural” (old-time farm house) outside of Barcelona; however, due to the pandemic, they have postponed their celebration to 2021. ⑬ Meg (Mahaney) Schmidt - Meg and her husband have resided in Salt Lake City, UT, for the last five years and they absolutely love it there.

Meg works as a certified registered nurse anesthetist providing anesthesia in the operating room and is a member of their COVID-19 airway management team. When she isn’t working, you can find her snow skiing, mountain biking, camping and hiking. In February 2021 she and her husband will be welcoming the newest addition to the Schmidt family, a sweet baby girl!

⓯ Amanda Daum - Amanda owns Sticks, a children’s clothing brand

focused on producing high-quality, handwoven garments made with integrity, transparency and heart, every step of the way. She works with ancient, artisan craft techniques as an alternative to machine-made, unsustainable products, focusing on connecting with customers who hold these values in high regard. She was unable to launch Sticks first collection of children’s clothing due to the pandemic so, instead, she shifted focus to serving her community with masks! She took Sticks’ stock of colorful spring fabrics and turned them into masks for adults, kids and even dogs with matching bandanas. One hundred percent of the profits are going to providing meals to families in developing countries, specifically Guatemala and Peru. Check out her work on social: @madebysticks ⓰ Cozette (Kale) Killian - Cozette is a General Surgery Resident at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is starting her fourth year in the program and is currently in her second year of research in Dr. Jayme Locke’s laboratory (@UAB_TEAM) evaluating disparities in transplantation. After residency, Cozette is hoping to pursue a Cardiothoracic fellowship. She got married in November 2019 to John Killian who is an Alabama native and UAB Surgery Resident. When they’re not working, you can find them spending time with their dog Gentry and cat Gracie, and enjoying time at one of the local breweries in Birmingham.

⓱ Becca (Stockdale) Shwarts - Becca lives in Austin, TX, and works for

SailPoint Technologies managing operations for their Professional Services team. Becca and her husband welcomed their baby boy Jake into the world on February 28! Becca says he is a spitting image of his father but she thinks he has her stubborn personality so far. During quarantine, the Shwarts family has enjoyed the opportunity to catch up with friends and really take advantage of virtual happy hours! ⓲ Melissa (Garza) Tobias - Melissa works for Northside Independent School District in San Antonio. After eight years in the classroom, she is now the Language Support Teacher (LST) at Burke Elementary. LSTs in the district work with bilingual and dual language students to develop biliteracy skills, similar to a reading specialist but for bilingual learners.

She also works with campus bilingual staff and support teachers in the field. Bilingual education is her passion and says that she’s "beyond thrilled and blessed for my new position." When she's not teaching or creating content to teach, she's busy with her two toddlers who are four and two years old. Melissa says that her summer has been all about family time and self-care via her favorite hobby, fitness.

•• Charles Cook - Charles married Taryn Blair in Cabo San Lucas in January

2020. The newlyweds live in Houston, TX, and Charles is entering his fourth year with the Houston Astros serving as Director of Player Evaluation. In his current role, he will drive the evaluation process for amateur players across both the domestic and international markets.

Charles and Taryn enjoy spending their free time jet-skiing on Lake Conroe.

•• Makram Haidar - Makram graduated from medical school at Texas A&M in May and moved to Harlingen, TX, in June. He absolutely loves the field of psychiatry and is ecstatic to be working at the University of Texas, Rio Grande Valley, as a first-year psychiatry resident physician.

When not working, you can find Makram jogging, cooking, Zooming with friends and family, or trying to find the time and place to surf in South Padre Island (when it’s NOT a COVID hotspot). Makram says that it is the first time since both Haidars (brother Al Haidar ’08) were at Parish that his entire family was under one roof for months on end (to which he notes was very enjoyable). Pre-pandemic, Makram was able to celebrate his graduation with more than five weeks of solo traveling in Peru and Brazil that conveniently ended right before the pandemic, and he was able to experience Carnival in Rio de Janeiro first hand!

2• Connor Sprague - A Texas Woman's University '19 graduate with her M.S. in Informatics (clinical track), Connor is now a Health Research Analyst at HMS in Dallas, TX.

from Phoenix. A TCU Nursing School graduate now working as a pediatric ICU nurse, she was a travel nurse for the past year and a half and had quite the adventure. She is now following a new path in Dallas as a liver transplant coordinator at Children’s Medical Center Dallas. She recently started a blog called RNFORCE (play on word reinforce with RN for registered nurse). As a nurse, especially working in ICU, she has struggled to cope with extreme traumatic events that she witnesses at work. Meghan was fortunate enough to identify her own struggle with this and found that journaling provided reprieve and helped her navigate through the stress that work brought in to her day-to-day life.

When she recognized these feelings were not just her own but many of her coworkers as well, Meghan felt that if she could show vulnerability and share her struggles publicly it might encourage others to do the same. Follow her work at www.reinforcern.com and on Instagram: @rnforce

2• Whitney (Keith) Paulus - In fall of 2019 Whitney began her Assistant Manager position on the Labor and Delivery Unit at Clements University Hospital at UT Southwestern. In March 2020 she completed a master's in Nursing Administration from The University of Texas at Arlington.

Whitney and husband Mitch are welcoming their first baby in December 2020. Whitney also serves on her class reunion planning committee along with the help of Dillon Hoelscher ‘10 and Eric Humphrey ‘10, planning for the Class of 2010 10-year reunion.

•• Keagan Riley - Keagan currently resides in Camp Lejeune in North Carolina and serves in the United States Marine Corps. This year he completed The Basic School, which is the Marine Corps' officer training program where they are taught the skills necessary to lead a rifle platoon. In September, Keagan completed the Naval Justice School. This is the Department of the Navy's training program for Navy JAGs (Judge Advocate Generals) and Marine Judge Advocates.

2• Molly Aaron - Molly is a lifetime Longhorn and a corporate recruiter for

one of the leading logistics companies in the nation, Stevens Transport.

Since graduating Parish, she has remained just as close with her Parish friends as she was seven years ago, and she hopes the same for all Parish alumni. In her spare time, you can find Molly hanging with friends, being outdoors, cooking and staying active in the Dallas community.

•• Chris Cole - Chris has recently completed his three and a half-year Doctor of Chiropractic program here in Dallas. Chris mentions it has been “a beautiful and bittersweet end to 22 straight years of academics, but an exciting step into a life full of service and facilitating health and healing with others.” He hopes he can properly celebrate with a trip to the beach to rest and integrate the entirety of his educational experience. Chris will be packing up and moving to Nashville, TN, to step into practice with some friends and fellow chiropractors at

2• Cyrus Ghaznavi - Cyrus graduated from Rice University in May 2017 with a B.A. in Biological Sciences and Policy Studies. Cyrus is a third-year medical student at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and has aspirations to be an infectious disease physician. He recently co-founded a student-led volunteer initiative that provided services to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

•• Sara (MacDowell) Murph & Michael Murph - Sara and Michael have tied the knot! Their lives in the last few months have almost entirely revolved around planning, cancelling and re-planning a wedding, and preparing for this new chapter together. Sara mentions that “it has been a long time coming – 15 plus years of knowing each other and seven years in a relationship (including four years of long distance!).” COVID-19 may have thrown a wrench in their original wedding plans, however, these high school sweethearts were able to move forward with a celebration with their immediate families in an intimate ceremony on August 22.

On July 17, 2020, the Murph’s will celebrated with their wedding party, extended family and friends at their dream reception! The Murphs reside in Dallas. Michael is an Analyst at Sendero Consulting and Sara is a Talent Development Coordinator at The Beck Group.

•• Brookie Hewes - This fall trimester, as a Parish Upper School Math Teacher, Brookie and Parish freshmen, Adelaide B., Chloe P., Alex R., Eva N., Sadie P., Taylor W., Carly P. and Gigi E., participated in a student mentoring program with Forerunner Mentorship. While there, the girls played Halloween - themed games and represented Anchored By Family, Brookie’s start-up nonprofit effort in hopes to strengthen the Pleasant Grove community.

•• Alexander Beys – Since graduating from Oklahoma City University with a B.F.A. in Acting, Alexander has been signed by the Kim Dawson Agency.

Most recently, he was featured in a UPS Commercial and is now one of the faces of UPS. Right before COVID-19 hit, Alexander was in the midst of planning to relocate to Los Angeles for acting opportunities. In the meantime, according to Alexander “like every other actor, I am waiting tables at Bistro 31 in Highland Park Village. Come see me!”

•• Nadia Jones - Baylor 2019 graduate, Nadia currently resides in Dallas and works at CyrusOne as a Marketing Coordinator. Nadia will continue her education to pursue her master’s this fall at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor for Sports Management. Nadia is also a mentor for the Parish Leadership Institute and anticipates returning to the Midway campus (pending COVID). She recently opened an Etsy shop where she sells various crafts involving pressed flowers and other fun items. Nadia picked up this hobby of hers during the start of quarantine and says “it is a fun hobby during this unusual time.” Check out her items on the Etsy shop, So Uniquely Pressed.

•• Marshall Nichol - Marshall currently resides in Dallas, TX. He’s a Hendrix College ’19 graduate, earning his B.A. in Health Science. During college, he played one year of baseball and competed three years of Track and Field where he focused primarily on Javelin. Upon graduating Hendrix, Marshall immediately began working on his doctorate in chiropractic from Parker University, Dallas, where he is 30 percent of the way finished with the program. Concurrently, he’s assisting a lead role in the Rehab and Performance Membership division at a local sports medicine clinic, Kinetikchain. At Kinetikchain, Marshall performs soft tissue manual therapy as well as prescribes appropriate corrective and preventive exercise for people ranging from pre-teens to Olympic athletes, to weekend warriors. In addition to these two "full time" gigs, he is also a Health Coach at a start-up gym in Dallas called Mvement, offering training and health consultations to help better the lives of others. While pursuing a full work schedule, Marshall also made room to squeeze in a wedding this summer. On August 22, Marshall and Leah Boehl tied the

knot! Marshall’s wife is a media planner and a can be spotted alongside Marshall cheering on the Panthers.

•• Jasmine Samei - A 2019 Colorado School of Mines graduate, Jasmine currently resides in D.C. where she is a product supply engineer for Procter & Gamble. She works on the Swiffer manufacturing lines at the largest P&G plant by volume in West Virginia. Jasmine says it has been one of the best experiences of her life!

•• Seth Applebaum - Seth is headed back to school after his recent

graduation from the University of Texas, Austin. At UT he majored in Communication, Leadership and Entrepreneurship. During his time in Austin, he was very involved in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. This fall, Seth is attending Northwestern University, Segal Design Institute, McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science to pursue his M.S. in Engineering Design Innovation. Seth made the move to Chicago this summer and is excited to focus his studies on consumer products and design/innovation strategy.

•• Alexis Curts - Alexis graduated from the University of Virginia in May, and spent the first few months of quarantine in Virginia with friends before coming home to Dallas. While in Dallas, she enjoyed spending time with friends and family, reading books, painting, and working with Guggenheim's recruiting team to hire their future internship class. She has started her career at Guggenheim Partners as an Investment Banking Analyst and made the move to New York City in August.

•• Megan Huynh - Megan is a 2020 University of Oklahoma graduate who received her B.A. in Psychology. Upon graduating, she worked as an ophthalmic technician for the Norman Vision Clinic in Norman, OK, and was recently accepted to the University of Houston College of Optometry.

Jonathan Moebius - Jonathan graduated in May 2020 with his B.A. in •• Architectural Studies from the University of Kansas. He recently moved back to Dallas and is currently seeking work in the architecture world.

In 2021, Jonathan will begin graduate school at University of Texas, Arlington, to pursue his master’s in architecture. He hopes to land a position as a graduate teaching assistant at UTA and is excited to continue his educational journey.

Keaten Olson - Keaten has settled into her new home in Kansas •• City, MO. She started her career at Lockton Companies, a privately held brokerage firm, as their marketing assistant in the Brand and Communications Department. A former member of the Parish cheer team, Keaten made the Kansas City Chiefs cheer team and has enjoyed every moment of virtual practices preparing for the season. Aside from working and dancing, she is also teaching virtual yoga at Lockton for all of the associates. Keaten says that "it has been a challenging experience but something I have really enjoyed learning."

Kensi Olson - Kensi recently graduated from the University of Tampa and •• moved back to Dallas to begin her career at Deloitte. After work, Kensi spends her time playing golf with family and friends, and exploring new areas in Dallas.

Aahad Patel - Aahad graduated in May 2020 with his degree in •• Computer Science and Business Administration from the University of Southern California. He currently works as a Software Engineer on the HBO Team at AT&T in Los Angeles. In his spare time, Aahad enjoys walks, reading and re-teaching himself to play the piano. He is currently working remotely in Dallas with plans to move back to Los Angeles in early 2021.

•• Amanda D'Auria - Amanda graduated one year early from the University of Texas, Austin, with her B.B.A. in Management and graduated with honors. She is currently working in the B2B Sales Development Program at AT&T. When she’s not working, she’s coaching AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) girls basketball teams.

•• Jeremy Hodge - A 2020 New Mexico State University graduate, Jeremy is currently pursuing his M.B.A. at Walsh University in North Canton, Ohio, and is quarterback for the Walsh Cavaliers football team. Jeremy mentions that “attending Parish Episcopal provided me a strong foundation for a successful future.”

•• Will Riney - Will plans to graduate from the University of Oklahoma in May of 2021. He’s majoring in entrepreneurship with a minor in finance. Over the summer Will started a power washing company, D&W Power Washing Co., with one of his fraternity brothers after losing his consulting internship due to the pandemic. His ultimate goal is to expand the company by hiring high school/college students looking for a part-time job starting summer 2021. His summer was full of traveling between his home in Dallas and his house in Norman, OK, making visits to clients in both cities.

•• Tyler Hamilton - A sophomore finance major at Texas Tech and Raider's

baseball athlete, Tyler enjoyed sitting in on a Managerial Accounting class this summer. Other than school, Tyler has found ways to practice baseball and is in the hopes to get back to playing in the coming months after having the season cut short this past spring. He enjoyed spending time with family these last few months, but is ecstatic to get back to Lubbock in hope of making another run to the College World Series!
