PreK 3 Curriculum Overview he PreK 3 curriculum focuses on developing key social-emotional, language, and math skills through T engaging, age-appropriate activities. Through developmentally appropriate practices, the curriculum emphasizes independence, communication, and problem-solving, ensuring students are well-prepared for their future academic journey. ● IMPACT: The IMPACT Mindsets articulate Parish's belief that in today’s world, information is no longer a commodity. It is not how much a student knows that matters, but what a student can do with that information. Students learn to advocate for themselves, practice responsible independence, and develop effective problem-solving skills. Emphasis is placed on self-control, time management, and organization, while fostering positive interactions and respectful communication with peers. Skills taught include: ○ Paying attention ○ Following 1-2 step directions ○ Following daily routines ○ Taking turns, sharing, and appropriately communicating with others ○ Building strength and coordination of muscles for academic and nonacademic activities ○ Building confidence as learners and a positive relationship with school ● Language Arts: The curriculum emphasizes early literacyskills such as recognizing letters, identifying sounds, listening to stories, and developing fine motor skills for writing. ● Mathematics: Students learn to count, identify numbers, recognize shapes, compare quantities, and begin understanding patterns and spatial awareness.
