Thesis Work (In Progress) A Unified Theory of Type -Student Work -Graduate -Redefinging Type and Typology for the Modern Era

My Masters thesis is on type and typology within architecture. Throughout different periods in architecture the ideas of type and typology have evolved from author to author. The term type and typology have very distinct definitions. Type refers to the detection of sameness and differentness within architecture. Where typology is the systematization of this detection. My investigation started as an exploration of a unified theory of type and has evolved to include the question of whether this unified theory can move type and typology past the limitations of formulas and into the realm of an open ended process.
