• Telangana government has earmarked about 10 acres (40,406 sq. m.) of land for the Project, which is envisaged to be an Iconic Tower, which is proposed to be developed as an Animation and Gaming Hub, along with other support facilities.
OBJECTIVES
SCOPE
• This project is built along the IT corridor of Hyderabad, HITEC city. It will be fully equipped with world-class infrastructure and state-of-the-art amenities to support the growing AVGC industry that already supports 30,000 employees in the city. • It houses an ideal environment for the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming & Comics (AVGC) industry with plug and play spaces, state-of-the-art built-up office space at subsidized rates to first generation technocrat entrepreneurs, as well as small and medium enterprises engaged in the sector. The centre will be a key growth engine for tech exports and employment generation.

A ‘factory for creativity’ that is the most sustainable broadcasting studio yet designed. The Harlequin 1 building sets an international benchmark for sustainable architecture in a broadcasting environment.
The media production center the is college 1st new construction building in it’s 120 years history, Is now open. The 3,300 m2 facility designed by studio gang architects, provide adaptable, state-of-the-art facility including two fold is facility including two film production sound stages, a motion capture studio, digital labs, animating suites, a fabrication shop and classrooms.
It will house recording, post-production and transmission facilities for Sky’s Broadcast and Sports News departments. In scale this large building is roughly equivalent to two New York City blocks – 100m long and 50m wide.

Sky studios are constructed as five floors divided horizontally into three zones -make, shape, share. 1) The lower floors contain the largest studies to make the television content; 2) The middle floors encompass the production facilities, editing suites, and data centers within which the content is shaped. 3) The upper floors provide the transmission facilities to share television signal. Offering a multi-platform broadcasting center for all of Sky’s media channels.
Façades The façades of Sky studios are finished in a glass and aluminum cladding, with a modern wall scheme that has been designed to expression modern style and expresses the internal function. The chimneys protruding from the building that are ventilating the studios, it is a crisp and modern expression.

The design is intended to inspire a new way of teaching media production, through addingvalue in every corner of the building even the lounges, stairs and rest areas. The architect used the different levels and stages as a translation for the phases of media production, creates a dynamic, challenging and cooperative space for students. The building uses diagonal compositional lines and spatial layering; to create depth of field and natural light used to give “deep focus,” to get a simulation of animate movement through a framed view. The building is constructed as one-floor plan, but there are differences of heights and levels to accomplish technical considerations for the studio’s requirements. Also play a role in achieving the main idea, that enables students to participate in filmmaking, and sees all behind the scene aspects of movie making.

Cooling & Ventilation through Chimneys
CONCULSION
The performance of the giant natural ventilation chimneys that serves the main eight studios, offices for 1370 people, and freecooled data rooms for more than 400 computer servers. Cooling and Ventilation System execution: 1- Waste heat from the studio lights rises through the studio ventilation chimneys. 2- As waste heat rises, a small negative pressure is set up in the studios. 3- This pressure drop overcomes the resistance of the sound attenuators, drawing in fresh cool air from the exterior. 4- Exterior intake grilles 5- When external conditions are inappropriate for natural ventilation, mechanical ventilation and cooling of the studio spaces can be implemented using the same chimneys.

Sky Studios discuss the media production spaces particularly the Studio blocks and the spaces for broadcasting services; it also provides a sustainable alternative to ventilation circulation for this kind of buildings. After reviewing the Sky’s Studios project, it has been noticed the following points: 1) Innovative solutions were founded to provide natural ventilation and fresh air for the spaces of the building. 2) The project contains eight studios with two floors height with varying spaces. 3) Flexible and open spaces are offered for office works, which arranged around the exterior for a natural lighting and fresh air. 4) Providing break-out space on each floor, next to the atrium. 5) The broadcasting rooms require a large area for this equipment and its facilities. 6) The project contains five equipment room distributed over a large area.

Constructed in 2016, this big and spacious development has a floor area of 58,000 sq ft and a total area of 540,000 sq ft, providing ample space for IT companies to conduct their businesses. The building offers both furnished and unfurnished office space and is up to date with all modern and essential amenities such as a large cafeteria, lounge, and landscaped garden. It also has an extraordinary security system that ensures things run smoothly. Association of Bangalore Animation Industry (ABAI) is a non-profit organisation committed to developing the Animation, VFX and Gaming industry in India. This occupies the ground floor of Nalapad Brigade Center, Whitefield.
Sky central is the new headquarters of Sky UK company, sky provides TV, broadband, mobile services, and business. It is a “flagship building” represent as one of Europe’s leading media companies and telecommunication, also the largest pay-TV broadcaster in the UK’s. Architects of Sky Central challenges the “conventional ideas” of the workspace; encirclement and evolving the simplicity of the work environment, through creating spaces encourages ad hoc meetings between individuals and offers a sense of health and comfort between all teams. As simple “shed typology” carrying the broadcaster’s activities and people together in clusters of neighborhoods symbolize as open and flexible space designed to cater for a new type of creative business. The design promotes flexible, wellbeing, cooperative, ease of access, openness, and communication for users. The central hub is linked the distinct neighborhoods to achieve full flexibility, and the stacked mezzanine space has established a variety of diverse work areas lined together, it is reached via ramps and stairs, allowing for unpredicted and surprising interactions to happen naturally.

The stacked central mezzanine space is arranged different work areas lined together, it is accessed via stairs and ramps, and overlying voids within floors plates to formed interactive visual connectivity. Sky central includes studios for media production and broadcasting, library, auditorium, brainstorm spaces, break-out areas, and wellbeing areas. Also, it offers the food services.

The facility consists of: • Finishing school (3-6 months courses) • Center of Excellence (post-production labs) • Incubators (capacity 60 people) The spaces in the Facility weren’t exactly planned keeping in mind the Circulation or the access. The spaces were accommodated to the area available on the premise of Office building. The capacity of the Incubators was limiting, so had to shift to the Classroom or AR/VR room of the finishing school. ABAI Finishing school will train and provide skilled technicians to the companies in Karnataka.

Sky Central is chosen as one of the cases studies, to enhance the concept of joining the office work with community zones in a one complex place which is applied by establishing a series of “neighborhoods” housing and flexible spaces support it, within these ‘residential’ feature wipes the borders among work and home and forms an intimate and human scale in the workplace. This section serves the companies and agencies of media production that responsible for the filming, editing, and development of a specific production or multimedia broadcast, the section aimed to offer different areas of spaces to accommodate several sizes of the companies supported with all required services. The Facilities The production companies are divided as follows: 1. Administration: consist of the chief office with a secretary, meeting room, financial office, and the accountant office. 2. Offices (Directors): each one of the production companies has at least one director responsible for producing films or other product for the company. 3. Internal Studios: small or large studios depends on the size of the company, it used for one person shows or interviews, the studios are flexible to fit more than the show. 4. Studio Control Room(SCR) 5. Post Production Rooms-Editing rooms: include several of desktop computers, responsible for the final stage, as mentioned in the first chapter in the last phase of multimedia production. 6. Master control room (MCR): the last monitoring point in the video and audio chain before a signal is transmitted. It includes video monitors, videotape recording (VTR), transmission equipment, video server, and automation broadcast equipment for recording and playback of television programming. 7. This section serves the companies and agencies of media production that responsible for the filming, editing, and development of a specific production or multimedia broadcast, the section aimed to offer different areas of spaces to accommodate several sizes of the companies supported with all required services.
The offices, all the AVGC facilities, Leisure breakout spaces, locker rooms and administration which need security are zoned separately, So that the activities don’t intervene together.

These lockers are dedicated to specific offices for the storage of equipments required for the MOCAP studios and other the main studios. All the required props and cameras are stored in here for the later use.
Motion Capture is a cutting-edge method of capturing all or part of an actor’s performance so that it can be translated into the action of a computer generated 3D character on screen. The exact movements of the actor are captured and rendered onto the digital character. These spaces require a lot of head room for execution.
