Ridgefest

The 17 th Annual Holiday Preview is set for Friday & Saturday Nov. 16th & 17th with many stores open late. Visit 30 local businesses for Christmas shopping while enjoying refreshments, gift ideas, and holiday décor. Visit all participating stores to increase your chance to win a gift basket. Ridgefest invites consumers to local businesses to shop and enter a $500 Ridgebucks give-away. Ridge shoppers drop entry forms at local businesses; each visit equals an opportunity to win one of five $100 Ridgebucks prizes as well as other great prizes. Ridgebucks Paradise Ridge Chamber of Commerce issues its own currency, redeemable at 90 local businesses on the Ridge. Wallet-sized “Ridgebucks” gift cards make the perfect gift for any occasion, and are available in the Chamber office at 5550 Skyway.

Chamber Seeks Nominations for Annual Community Awards Paradise Ridge Chamber of Commerce Installation and Community Recognition Dinner

Paradise Veterans Memorial Wall: Update

New Employment Laws for 2019

D

ozens of new laws will affect employers and workers in 2019, with some delays in impact until 2020 or 2021.The #MeToo movement has resulted in new harassment protections, and other laws amend recent legislation relating to labor practices. Gary Bess Associates: Grant Funding Locally and Beyond

Gary Bess Associates has helped organizations meet their goals since 1991, with services that range from finding funders for projects to guiding them through the nonprofit status application. The work of GBA team members has far reaching impact in some of the most disadvantaged communities in the country. Their impact is also local, with regional organizations in Butte and other north state counties using GBA services to strengthen their programs. GBA has assisted the Butte County Sheriff’s Office in evaluating a

program to improve the lives of at-risk young adults. Currently, GBA is working with Adventist Health Feather River to assess the effectiveness of a new Ridge COPD assistance program. Help Ridge Kids Celebrate the Season

The Paradise Veterans Group is in need of donations again this year to purchase more toys for local children. Past Kids on the Ridge Christmas parties have been a success thanks to the generosity of the residents and businesses of Paradise and Magalia. Each year, a few hundred children receive a gift from Mr. and Mrs. Claus, and are entertained with games and bounce houses. All tax-deductible donations appreciated.
