The Paradise Ridge Chamber of Commerce is proud to host a weekly summer celebration of community and commerce. Located in the historic heart of Paradise in Paradise Community Park at the corner of Pearson & Black Olive, The Party in the Park Music & Marketplace is a 12-week convergence of families, community members, and commerce that reinforces neighborhood bonds as people gather to hang out in their hometown. Each year, The Party in the Park has enjoyed greater success, hosting hundreds of patrons each week. From June 19th through September 4th, The Paradise Ridge Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with The Town of Paradise and with generous support from presenting sponsor Feather River Hospital will bring music, entertainment, beer, wine, food, assorted vendors and fun to Paradise Community Park. Sponsor support sustains the event, which in turn enhances our economy by bringing more patrons to shop on the Ridge. The departure of Mike Butson of Coldwell Banker Ponderosa left some big shoes to fill. The Chamber thanks Mike for his years of service to the Ridge community, and welcomes a new business and Director. Steve Crowder, co-owner with his wife Lori of A Stitch Above Embroidery & Shirt Printing at 6345 Skyway represents both the retail sector and the downtown; he is a member of Paradise

Rotary and has been active with Chambers of Commerce in Nevada City and San Leandro. Steve brings more than 30 years of business experience to the Chamber. Although on the Ridge for just over a year, Steve and Lori have already involved themselves deeply in this community. Steve’s goal is not just to work in this community, but work for this community.

Chapelle is host to Northern California Ballet’s annual fundraiser, “The Concours de la Chapelle,” an evening festival of classic European cars, fine art, fabulous food and live entertainment. This August 23rd, Chapelle de L’Artiste celebrates its sixth year as it

is transformed into a magical wonderland for one of the most anticipated events of the summer season. Stroll elegant grounds viewing the finest in European show cars, listen to a variety of live music and sample gourmet treats from fine regional caterers. Enjoy adult beverages from four different cocktail stations including the ever popular Martini Island, the Wine and Beer Cave, Margaritaville, and Champagne and Wine bars. Business Briefs NCB Intensive Summer Program Northern California Ballet’s intensive summer program takes place August 1st through 10th, with renowned professional guest artists teaching daily sessions. The program welcomes dancers of varying levels ages 6-19, and training includes technique, pointé, jazz, acting, character, gyrotonics, rehearsals, variations, Pas De Deux and lectures covering topics such as nutrition and injury prevention. Joy Lyn’s Candies Owner to Serve on International Candy Organization Board Joy Lyn’s Candies owner, Pam Hartley, has been appointed to serve on the Board of Directors for Retail Confectioners International. RCI serves a broad range of confectioners and industry suppliers throughout the U.S., Canada and abroad. RCI provides an opportunity for confectioners to meet, network, share ideas, solve problems and develop candy-making and entrepreneurial skills. Pam credits Joy Lyn’s membership in RCI with helping staff to master Joy Lyn’s new candy recipes, techniques, and retail marketing.
