The Pontifical Mission Society of Holy Childhood (HCA/POSI)

POSI is an organization within the framework of Catholic Church that leads children to be interested in missions by a prayer, educational activities and financial support. Children become missionaries for others according to the motto: “Children help children”. This Society supports both spiritual and material needs of children. At present we can find POSI in 120 countries in the world and the children from poor mission countries participate in the activities as well. The number of children in individual projects varies from several dozens to many thousands. Part of the projects is to support quality schools and off-school assistance for the poorest families, catechetic and community help in distant areas, elementary medical help, saving orphans and those suffering from malnutrition etc.

Formation activities of children

In the framework of PMS work Little mission clubs (groups of children) where children support missions in a very creative way under adults´ leadership. They have member cards for club members and also posters for mission notice boards, formation and animation materials for missionary work. The number of Little Mission Clubs registered in CR at the end of 2020 is 230 and they include nearly 2700 regularly and actively working children.

There are various formation mission activities going on the level of indivudual dioceses. However, in 2020 they were limited or totally banned. Therefore a lot of

traditional events did not take place at all. During summer several summer camps with mission themes took place because the situation was a little unbounded.

EDuCATION EQuIPMENT – CARTOON CALENDARS

There are published cartoon calendars for children to prepare for liturgical feasts of Easter, Mission Sunday and Christmas. Children have a prepared task for every day and they can color the calendar. The tasks lead them to experience a deeper period and remind them to think about the others. The National Offices in Croatia and Austria have also shown interest in the Czech graphic design of these calendars.
