Rustic Roads comprise a system of scenic roads and are lightly traveled country roads for the leisurely enjoyment of bikers, hikers and motorists.

RUSTIC ROAD 28 - Mains Crossing (old Highway 8). Passing by Apple River Park and across the scenic Apple River, this route offers pleasant views of deciduous forests and open farmland.

RUSTIC ROAD 41 - Clara Lake Road between County

E and County G. This road wanders past scenic woodlands and farmlands. A canopy of trees shades the gravel portion of this beautiful road.

Welcome to one of a select few northern Wisconsin communities to be designated a Wisconsin Bird City, where bird watching is a favorite pastime for locals and visitors alike. Amery is surrounded by three lakes, the Apple River, farmland, marshes and forests, providing abundant habitat for both migrating and nesting birds.

Be sure to check out Amery’s York Park (bring your spotting scope), which is a part of the Great Wisconsin Birding and Nature Trail as well as the Stower Seven Lakes State Trail, abundant with birds and other wildlife.
