This little town is bursting with art, painters, potters, sculptors, woodbutchers, multi-media visual artists, graphic artists, musicians, actors, dancers, writers, quilters, and more. Besides providing gallery events at ArtZ, Farm Table, and Northern Lakes Center for the Arts; churches, restaurants, the medical center, and our school system, hold regular opportunities for the creatively inclined to display their work and talent.
Amery has one of the best outdoor music events in the St. Croix Valley area. Three music events are held annually the third Friday of June, July and August in Michael Park, along with a cruise-in car show, food vendors, local brews and wines. Tailgating has become quite popular... so, cruise on over!
The Spring Art Tour is held the first weekend in May every year. With nearly 50 artists, live demonstrations, drawings and refreshments; your self-guided journey will be incredibly fun and inspirational.
Order a cocktail or fuel up for your adventure among our diverse and ever-expanding community of restaurants. The Farm Table attracts visitors near and far with its complete menu of local and organic food. Enjoy dinner by the lake from Shoreview Supper Club or Waterside Bar and Grill. A cozy fire and craft brew awaits you at Amery Ale Works, and the coffee is always on at Amery Family Restaurant.
Bar food has become a cuisine category all its own, with food like potato skins and chicken tenders, we’ve got the fun food you crave. Enjoy a patio, enjoy the scenery... welcome to Amery!
a river running through a valley. Now, imagine a steady rain falling on the hills that rise from the valley floor. Some of the water soaks into the soil, but most flows down to the river. That’s a watershed.
We’re in the Lower St. Croix River Watershed. The rain and snow that falls on fields and woods, streams, ponds, lakes, and rivers feed the St. Croix River. These waters are used in homes, farms, industry, wildlife, and for recreation.
Farm Table purchases ingredients from sustainable and regenerative farms that keep fertilizers and pesticides out of the watershed, build soil, manage livestock humanely, and grow delicious and highly nutritious foods. They also work to sequester carbon in the soil and out of the atmosphere!

As soon as her feet hit the soft surface of the Harvey Stower Trail, Olympian Alicia Monson is home.
Alicia grew up in Amery Wisconsin. Here, she had the opportunity to grow up with a group of youth who strived to succeed, whether in academics, arts, or athletics. They took pride in each other’s accomplishments and pushed each other to do their best.
She began to run competitively in middle school, and it was in high school she realized her gift and love of running. Amery runners have the challenging hills of the school forest for strengthening and the beautiful Stower Trail to provide a safe route for long runs. She went on to win three high school state championships for
the Amery Warriors. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and ran as a Badger. While competing there, she earned a degree in Dietetics/Nutritional Science as well as earning many athletic honors including Big Ten titles, All-American titles and an NCAA title. When her college career ended, she became a professional runner with On Running as a member of the On Athletics Club. After a hard-fought battle at the 2021 Olympic trials, she represented the U.S.A. in Tokyo, Japan at the 2021 Olympics in the 10,000m race.
She continues to run on the world stage. She represents the support of a small community with dedication and drive. Amery supports Alicia as she shows the best of what small town America can achieve.

There’s a reason why Amery is listed as both a Bird City and Tree City, USA, and it’s found in our area’s many parks and recreation areas. From the banks of the Apple River to the shores of three in-town lakes, take your pick of public fishing piers to drop a line for Northern Pike, Muskie, Bass and panfish. York Park is a favorite destination for bird watching, hiking and picnicking.
Feeling active? We’ve got it all. Tennis, pickleball and basketball courts, playgrounds, a skate park, frisbee golf, hiking, biking, kayaking, skiing, snowshoeing and more!
RV camping, frisbee golf, outdoor skateboard rink and a newly-paved tennis court, make North Park a great destination!
Rustic Roads comprise a system of scenic roads and are lightly traveled country roads for the leisurely enjoyment of bikers, hikers and motorists.
RUSTIC ROAD 28 - Mains Crossing (old Highway 8). Passing by Apple River Park and across the scenic Apple River, this route offers pleasant views of deciduous forests and open farmland.
RUSTIC ROAD 41 - Clara Lake Road between County E and County G. This road wanders past scenic woodlands and farmlands. A canopy of trees shades the gravel portion of this beautiful road.
Welcome to one of a select few northern Wisconsin communities to be designated a Wisconsin Bird City, where bird watching is a favorite pastime for locals and visitors alike. Amery is surrounded by three lakes, the Apple River, farmland, marshes and forests, providing abundant habitat for both migrating and nesting birds.
Be sure to check out Amery’s York Park (bring your spotting scope), which is a part of the Great Wisconsin Birding and Nature Trail as well as the Stower Seven Lakes State Trail, abundant with birds and other wildlife.
If you are visiting, or you are already a resident of Amery, and you have picked up this guide, you are finding there is plenty of things to do and see in Amery. But, there are some exceptional attractions that are in our area and within a short driving distance.

Farm Table is about delicious, deeply nutritious food and a whole lot more. We work with farmers and food lovers to build local food culture. We source up to 80% of ingredients from sustainable farms within 50 miles. Our farmers use regenerative practices to:
• Rebuild soil health
• Reduce erosion
• Sequester carbon, and
• Humanely manage livestock
These practices help reduce carbon-gassing into the atmosphere, as well as prevent run off into the rivers, streams and ponds of the St. Croix Valley watershed. If you’re exploring the area:
• Take along a meal-to-go
• Drop in for lunch or dinner
• Take a morning or afternoon break with a cup of coffee/tea and crafted dessert
• Start your evening with a Farm Table happy hour featuring cocktails, local beers and wines
