Personal Experience As A Student
From my personal experience, as a student a person who research about students and on how they become successful is very interesting, for me, it's exceptional to study for your classes while working concentrated. That's how students become successful to me, and it doesn't matter if you're going to a normal or same single–sex school as long as you are able to learn what you need in order to live a normal life. I go to a school where there are males and females of all kinds from my observation, everyone in gender is the same, we all get acceptable grades and I have noticed people work absolutely consolidated just to keep it that way. In my school, we bear extra–curricular activities for students after school comparable sports, dance, work club, crown, Bros, and GSA club these actually aid students follow and assist them master how to communicate with others. In the article Kewauna's Ambition" by Paul Tough argues about the studentseducation should always work hard and if you can't figure out, request for guidance which can be very understandable considering, since the girl he interviewed from the article he stated that "she went through each red–starred word with him, one by one, asking him to explain" (3). This quote is stating that everyone should have at least a chance to help or seek aid from a teacher so they can improve their understanding of the lessons. However, we should have a place an education or social–support systems in our schools already. Throughout my

What do you want to be when you grow up? Is one of the many questions that are asked by teachers and adults. Through the research and development of this paper, I feel that I am finally prepared to answer that question. College has always been in my plans but which college? Well, I have it narrowed down to three excellent and well–known colleges. Ohio University of Athens, The Ohio State University of Columbus and Miami University are the colleges that I feel would foremost prepare me to become an athletic trainer. My firstcollege choice is Ohio University of Athens; I think that Ohio University is a prominent university. Also, I like the rural location of the college. This college provides the classes I need to pursue my career in...show more content...
The Ohio State University (OSU) is my second college choice. Being a Buckeye has been a dream of mine since I knew what college was, but with the research I have done, I do not like the size or location of the college, however OSU does offer a really good athletic training program and that's what interests me most about the college. College is not cheap or easy but it is doable. Tuition for OSU is $11,285 per semester (collegecalc.org). With a larger college there is going to be a larger enrollment number. According to (osu.edu) there is an average of 50,000 students enrolled at OSU. Having a large variety of choices in majors is convenient. A total of 175 majors are offered at OSU (osu.edu).The recommended ACT score ranges from 26–30 (osu.edu). Scholarships and financial aid are both offered at OSU. The scholarships offered at OSU are various types of merit scholarships awarded to those students who qualify (osu.edu).Financial aid at OSU is like other universities ,they have grants loans and work study( osu.edu).Like Ohio University , OSU offers extracurricular known as intramural sports and many other programs. Although it is not my first choice if I get the chance I would become a Buckeye. Last but certainly not least, Miami University of Oxford, Ohio would be my third choice. Miami University is another well–known college that also has a rural location. This Get
As I wrap up my first semester of my freshman year of college, I begin to think back on my very new experience as a new college student. Between living in a dorm versus my comfortable home and the sudden increase in independence, college life was a brand new experience entirely. To me, it was almost like living a totally new life. However, I have always considered myself versatile and adaptable, so the transition to dorm life was not as stressful for me as it may have been to my peers, which allowed me to focus much more easily on my studies. Looking back on ENG 202, I now know that while I am versatile in taking on different literary theories and remaining consistent, my time management leaves much to be desired. I chose the English major itself due to my passion for languages, as well as my aspiration to teach English as a foreign language. My focus on linguistics, however, results in an attitude of "I just have to get through these requirements and then I can get to the meat of what I'm interested in" towards most English major requirements. So, when I signed up for ENG 202, I did not even look up the course description on the website. "Introduction to English Studies" was pretty self–explanatory, to me. I thought the course would simply be an overarching look at the devices of the English subject, such as grammar and literary analysis. I did not even know there were different ways to examine pieces of literature. My simple belief was that almost all analyses of texts

Discovering and choosing a college that best suits my needs was a rigorous yet thrilling task. The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising clearly came forth as the best choice for me to further my education in design. Being unable to visit the college campus, as I live in New York, I've done lots and lots of research about FIDM, and I realize the institute offers what I hope to gain from mycollege experience. I've been very interested in Interior Design for a few years and FIDM stands out as the prime institution to gain the knowledge to be a successful designer. As a prospective student of FIDM, I'm expecting to receive the information and resources to become a successful individual in the design community. While attending the college I...show more content...
I'm the polar opposite. I've known for quite some time what I've wanted to do after high school as interior design has been something I've loved for quite some time. With interior design, you have the ability to completely alter someone's life by designing a room or some sort of space for them. At FIDM I would work closely amongst others studying in interior design or other similar majors to take full advantage of my education. With the college being strategically located in the heart of Los Angeles, I would have lots and lots of resources and opportunities as an interior design student and I hope to put them all to great use. After completing my 4–year bachelor's degree I hope to delve right into a job in the interior design/decorating field. Taking advantage of my location, there will be a lot of opportunities job related for me. In 10 or so years I would love to own my own design firm or decorating business, and to be a very successful alumnus of the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. FIDM is who I am and where I want to Get
