The love shared between Shelton Taylor Sr. and Sharon Taylor produced a beautiful ‘Gem’, the first of two children. Shanteisa, or “Shanny”, as she was affectionately called, was born on the seventh of October, 1990.
Shanteisa commenced her early education at Abundant Life Pre-School. She attended St. Thomas More Primary School, and completed high school at St. Augustine’s College, graduating in 2008. She graduated from College of The Bahamas, with a Bachelor of Business Management Degree, in the class of 2015.
A pleasant and determined young lady, Shanteisa did not believe in being idle and was never averse to hard work. She commenced employment working summer jobs at various entities, such as Sandy’s, Executive Coffee, Mario’s Bowling Alley, as well as various Government Agencies. While attending the College of The Bahamas, she joined the Scotiabank family in May, 2012 as a Teller at the branch on University Drive. She worked with a “Spirit of Excellence” and this exuberant spirit and ambitious attitude compelled her to apply for the position as Executive Assistant to the Director of Corporate & Commercial Banking Centre at Scotiabank’s Corporate Centre, Bay Street, where she worked until her demise. She loved her job and her Scotiabank family. Shanteisa was a stellar employee which earned her the accolades of being named 4 Time, “Best of the Best Employee of the Year”.
The following sentiments were recently shared with the family by her colleagues:
“She was helpful and kind-hearted.”
“Shanny was always a good listener and gave constructive advice when asked.”
“She mentioned that she had started to write a book; I’m not sure what it’s about.”
“Shanny was ambitious! She was to begin an online course in Adult & Workforce Education Training.”
Shanteisa used her spare time wisely, and was committed to selfimprovement. Since earning her degree at C.O.B., she went on to complete many professional enhancement courses in preparation for future career opportunities. These included: Annual AntiMoney Laundering/Anti- Terrorist Financing and Compliance Training; Executive Assistant’s Masterclass; completed numerous workshops, seminars, and training in customer service; Information Technology & Cybersecurity; Risk Management; Global Sanctions; Workplace Safety; Diversity & Inclusion.
REMEMBERING
“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made”.
- PSALM 139:14
Beyond all of Shanteisa’s training was her early “home training”. The importance of Integrity, good moral character, service to others and sound Christian values were instilled in her by her parents and extended family from infancy. This training manifested into the responsible young woman she became.
Like her late father, Shanteisa was jovial in nature. She had a gregarious and magnetic personality, punctuated by her radiant smile. She brought much laughter to family gatherings. If you’ve ever spent time in her company, you can attest to these sentiments.
Shanteisa was a loving individual who cared deeply for her family, in particular, her mother who was her closest friend and confidant, and her brother, (aka “the bodyguard”), Shelton Jr. (“SJ”). She was not one to keep many friends, but the few people that she allowed in her inner circle bear witness to her big heart and love of life.
Cooking was one of shanteisa’s passions. She took a delight in trying out various recipes. Sunday afternoons were Family Dinner and fellowship time at the Taylor’s residence and her mother Sharon and SJ had no choice than to be the official taste testers of her kitchen experiments. Fortunately, she improved with each creation, and they were able to give her a good grade every time. This made Shanteisa even more proud of her “gourmet” creations.
Those who really knew Shanteisa would know that Sundays were reserved to be with her family. If given an invitation for a Sunday event, she would politely decline if it conflicted with the time for Family Dinner. The same applied to work; if she had to work on a Sunday, she would try her best to complete her assignment so she could be on time for dinner.
It was just this past Christmas that she told her mother, “Mommy you have a lot of vacation, apply for some time, I am taking you away and it’s on me!’’ They spent Christmas together. It was an enjoyable time for them both, neither knowing that it would be the last Christmas they would spend together.
On the afternoon of Tuesday, 7th January, 2025, Shanteisa transitioned from her earthly abode to her heavenly home. Although the family is grateful to God for the brief time she was given to them, a void remains. “Until our heavenly reunion, when the dead in Christ shall rise, we will cherish the wonderful memories shared and you shall remain in our hearts, and we will love you forever. May you Rest in Peace”!

Will Lift Up Mine Eyes Unto The Hills"
The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life.
The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time on and forevermore.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.
CONGREGATIONAL HYMN ............................................................................... “When We All Get To Heaven“
Sing the wondrous love of Jesus, Sing His mercy and His grace; In the mansions bright and blessed He’ll prepare for us a place.
When we all get to heaven, What a day of rejoicing that will be! When we all see Jesus, we’ll sing and shout the victory!
While we walk the pilgrim pathway Clouds will overspread the sky; But when trav’ling days are over Not a shadow, not a sigh.
Let us then be true and faithful, Trusting, serving ev’ry day; Just one glimpse of Him in glory Will the toils of life repay.
Onward to the prize before us! Soon His beauty we’ll behold; Soon the pearly gates will open We shall tread the streets of gold.

’Tis mystery all! The Immortal dies! Who can explore His strange design? In vain the firstborn seraph tries
To sound the depths of love Divine!
’Tis mercy all! let earth adore, Let angel minds inquire no more.
’Tis mercy all! let earth adore, Let angel minds inquire no more.
“And Can It Be”
He left His Father’s throne above, So free, so infinite His grace; Emptied Himself of all but love, And bled for Adam’s helpless race: ’Tis mercy all, immense and free; For, O my God, it found out me. ’Tis mercy all, immense and free; For, O my God, it found out me.
Long my imprisoned spirit lay Fast bound in sin and nature’s night; Thine eye diffused a quickening ray, I woke, the dungeon flamed with light; My chains fell off, my heart was free, I rose, went forth, and followed Thee. My chains fell off, my heart was free, I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.
No condemnation now I dread; Jesus, and all in Him, is mine! Alive in Him, my living Head, And clothed in righteousness Divine, Bold I approach the eternal throne, And claim the crown, through Christ my own. Bold I approach the eternal throne, And claim the crown, through Christ my own.
I cannot be seen but I can be heard. As you look upon a flower and admire its simplicity- remember me. Remember me in your heart, your thoughts, your memories of the times we shared, the times we loved, the times we cried, the times we laughed. For if you always think of me, I will never be gone.
Margaret Mead
To my beautiful daughter, I find it incomprehensible that I am writing you a tribute in death. I am shattered.
You were so full of life. You shared your goals and aspirations for 2025 and I prayed that you would achieve them, but it was not to be.
You blossomed into such a beautiful woman, sharing your love, generous spirit, care, concern and I am grateful, especially this past Christmas, December 2024, a time I will cherish and never forget. Though the pain of losing you is hard, I can find comfort in memories shared and the kind words expressed by persons whose lives you touched. You were truly “A Gem”. Rest in Peace, dear daughter, “Mother” loves you forever!
A sister; someone who has been where you’ve been; someone you can call when things aren’t going right. A sister is more than family - she is a forever friend!
Teis…my bups…wow…I’m still trying to process all of this. So full of LIFE; So full of LOVE; So much goals you aspired to accomplish.
Though I will not question God, I’m still saddened by the fact that your journey was cut so short. I will surely miss all the jokes, deep conversations, sound advice and let’s not forget that famous seafood macaroni.
I am forever grateful for the times we shared and memories we created. Those are the things that I will always cherish.
Rest in Peace My Forever Friend Love, brother bear

FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS
I would have never thought in my wildest dreams that you would have left us so soon, but God knows why. We will miss you ‘Shanny’, but your loss will be forever in our hearts and felt by our family.
The out-pouring of love and support shown from everyone who knew you, or even briefly met you speak volumes. Your kind heart, bubbly spirit during family gatherings will always be remembered. You truly made your presence felt and you left an indelible mark on everyone who knew you.
You will be always missed and remembered, because you were truly loved!
Love Auntie Carol
to myNiece
As an aunt, I have been fortunate to experience the beauty of this role firsthand, particularly in the presence of my precious niece, Teisa. From the moment you entered this world, you have been a beacon of light, filling our lives with your infectious laughter and heartmelting smiles. Your presence has transformed ordinary moments into extraordinary memories, reminding me how impactful a child can have on one’s life and Teisa and I shared that unique bond as aunt and niece.
Teisa, you have taught me the importance of embracing life with open arms and finding joy in the simplest of moments. Our relationship is a treasure to be cherished for a lifetime.
As I reflect, I am filled with gratitude for the privilege of being a part of your life’s journey. You brought great joy and love into my life. I would send virtual hugs and say Auntie Dale Loves You. I will miss you, but God loves you best.
Love, “Auntie Dale”
tribute to MY COUSIN
Shanny, you were like my little sister. In fact, when you were younger you used to tell people I was your big sister and when I asked you about it, you would clarify “I meant pretend big sister”. All I would do is shake my head and laugh. You were always a character. For our family the pain and loss that we feel is incomprehensible. For many of us this still seems surreal. It is hard to believe that you are no longer here. You were remarkable, talented, dependable, loving and caring. I will treasure the times and memories we shared together cuz. Love, Niketa, Your Big Cousin
TO MY FRIEND
my dearest
friend,Teisa
I find myself reflecting on our 20+ years of friendship, and while there are many ways to describe our journey, it always comes back to one word – “friend”.
You are the true definition of a friend – A friend with an amazing spirit, a big heart, and an incredible sense of humor. One who has stuck beside me through life’s triumphs and trials. A pillar of support and strength, and a safe space. We’ve shared, we’ve grown, we’ve laughed, laughed some more, and we’ve cried, and I wouldn’t trade a single moment. Thank you for everything!
It is difficult accepting that you’re no longer here and my heart aches, but I hope the memories we’ve shared will help to soothe the pain I feel.
I love you and I miss you. Until we meet again, your friend, Leo
