MORE TIME, Mommy

Your earthly days are fast spent. Your voice and time for our chats are no more There’s a sadness that cannot be explained or measured. Losing you has caused deepest pain and displeasure. Your physical presence and laughter won’t ever again fill my home. If only I had more time to say, how much your prayers, love and support gave me strength to stand in my toughest days.

More Time, More Time with you Mommy is my deepest wish. More time to talk. More time to Pray. Be confident and strong you’d always say. Remember God’s word. Remember to Pray . Our God is unfailing and mighty. He won’t fail you child .He’ll make a way. Though the world thinks you’re defenseless and without hope. Remember God’s mercies and faithfulness never runs out. He’ll help you cope.

At times this world is such a bully, so unfair, so unjust Often mistreated and misunderstood. So worried who to trust I’d call you to tell it all. You always made time to listen. And after you’d say, “ Oh Child ignore the fuss. God’s Gat You every step of the way.”

More Time. More Time with you Mommy is my deepest wish. It’s hard not to feel robbed, cheated or defenseless I wish for More Time to Talk. More Time to Pray.

Now you’ve gone ‘bout your Heavenly business and have left me alone Our times together are no more. Your savior has taken you home.

You’d say Child God’s Gat You every step of the way. He’ll guide and protect you during your toughest day.

Forever etched in the Chronicles of Time is the life you’ve that led My Confidant. My Fellow Prayer Warrior. My Friend. Our Time together here on earth has come to an end. Go enjoy Heaven’s portals singing praises and hymns

Forever and Ever in My Heart

CELEBRATING HER LIFE AND LEGACY

On the island of New Providence, during the early dawn of September 22, 1958, the gift of a beautiful baby girl was unwrapped and presented to Arnold Pinder and Sheila Elizabeth Robert;

principles were the “Order of the Day”. Church attendance was non-negotiable. She would attend St Francis Catholic Church, St Andrews Presbyterian Church, Zion Baptist Church, East & Shirley Street, then back to St Francis Catholic Church (after dinner) with Mama Ruth, Grammy Gwendolyn and her biological mother, Sheila; in one day. Together these three strong women reared Renee into the phenomenal caring, humble and graceful woman she grew into.

Her early education begun at T.A. Thompson Primary School where she received a well-balanced education in the Social Sciences fields. She continued her secondary education at the Donald W. Davis High School. While there she was afforded learning opportunities to acquire the knowledge, skills and attitude that are essential to sound self, family and community development. Renee’s formative education concluded at R. M. Bailey Senior High School in 1977. As a student at R. M. she excelled in Social Studies, Religious Studies, and Cooking. Collectively these subject would propel her into her destiny. She grew to be very creative, collaborative, and innovative. Her efforts to continue to excel led her to attend trade school to learn Typing and Secretarial skills.

In 1979, Renee relocated to Freeport Grand Bahama. Having successfully acquired her Certificate in Secretarial Studies, she was employed at Godfrey Pro Pinder Law Firm as a Receptionist. Later, she was promoted to legal secretary after demonstrating a high level of proficiency in administrative tasks. Her commitment to her work could be seen amidst her colleagues, friends, and industry partners and rivalries which led to an advance career opportunity at Debbie Kikivarakis & Co. During her employment she put forth consistent and prolonged time, effort, and hard work into her assigned tasks. But her passion for culinary arts kept taunting her. Unable to resist temptation, she yielded and resigned from administrative tasks. However, her employment continued in the Tourism and Hospitality industry at Atlantic Beach Hotel, Lucaya, Grand Bahama. She became a staple in the kitchen as a Cook for more than a decade. She was very active in the Hotel Union, then led by Thomas Bastian and dutifully served as an officer with him and his team. She remained an advocate for truth, justice, fairness and inclusion for workers in the Tourism, Hotel and Allied workers sphere.

Renee loved God and loved her country. She received Christ the Lord as her Personal Savior in repentance and baptism. She was a member of Church of Christ and served in various capacity. Her high soprano pitch could be heard singing melodiously during service. She later joined the Voice of Deliverance Church Family and became one of the founding members

of Voice of Deliverance, Freeport, Grand Bahama. She served as a Minister, Pastor, and Elder for more than two and half decade, and up to the time of her transition. She was very well known in the Prayer community of Grand Bahama. Often times, she would open the Lord’s House and sit for hours in prayer and meditation on behalf of her children, family, neighborhood, nation and church. She was a member of many community Prayer Teams; including teams led by Pastor Lucille Woodside and Prophetess Anne Higgs.

Renee also served her country in front line politics. She was an active member of the Freeport Women’s’ Branch of the Free National Movement, Grand Bahama and served in many offices. The last being National Chaplin. She loved to pray. Her intricate involvement in politics extends throughout the Pine Ridge Constituency.

Renee love her children and family. Although she was the youngest girl, she cared for her older siblings’ children and their children’s children as though they were her own. Her deep love for cooking always drew her nieces and nephews to her house for delicious meals. Her house was dubbed “The Place To Be” often causing overcrowding to her delight. She was most supportive, forgiving and kindhearted in spite of the nuances of family conflict and chaos. Though she reside in Grand Bahama away from her biological children, she always visited them for special occasions and seasons. She would stay for extended periods of time then return to Grand Bahama. Her most favorite activities were cooking, listening to music and dancing, attending church, and reading her bible. She was very sociable, and out-going. Her stylish and glamorous outfits were always admired. She received many compliments and admiration for her classy self-presentation.

In December 2021, her visit to her children for the Christmas Holiday of 2021 would result in her remaining with them. This time she would not return to Grand Bahama. They observed that she was noticeably not in good health and begun to seek medical attention with various doctors and health specialist to determine her diagnosis, recovery process and return home. But Renee’s Savior had other plans. On June 2, 2022, she was admitted to hospital for closer medical attention. For the next twenty-four hours she remained in good spirits and led numerous conversations with her children, friends, family and, religious and political colleagues.

On June 3rd, 2022, the highlight of her conversations with her children throughout the day was visiting hours at 6:00pm. She looked forward to seeing them. On that day at 6:45pm Renee came face to face with her eschatological death. She transitioned life beyond sickness, sorrow, pain, and death.
