THE Life OF

A TIME TO BE BORN

On the peaceful morning of 6th April, 1961, silence was broken by immense joy and celebration as Sherlin Jeffery and Ceva Bannister birthed a healthy and handsome baby boy, in Nassau, Bahamas. His father, being so overjoyed, took his newborn into his arms and as he smiled, said, “My son’s name will be Lenneth Jeffery.”

A TIME TO GROW

Lenneth grew up in a closely knitted family. He did not talk very much because he stammered, but his presence was always known from a young age. Growing up as a little boy on Minnie Street, he was not allowed to leave the yard to look for friends, but was quite content playing with his sisters and his many toys, his building blocks being his favorite. He would spend hours building houses and other shapes with sticks. Church was an integral part of his upbringing. As a youngster, he and his entire family attended church every Sunday. He attended youth meetings, prayer meetings, choir rehearsals and any event his parents thought he should be a part of.

A TIME TO LEARN & WORK

Lenneth’s early education began at Claridge Primary, followed by C.H. Reeves Junior High, R.M. Bailey Senior High and later, Miami Lakes Technical College. He studied Auto Mechanics, Airconditioning and Refrigeration. From an early age, his entrepreneurial skills were evident and indeed it manifested during his adult life. Upon completion of college, he was employed at Thompson’s Electrical and All Brands Air Conditioning and Refrigeration until he started his own business in the

LENNETH BANNISTER - 4

late 1980’s, Lenny’s Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. Shortly after this, he established the popular Lenny’s Coolies. This is how he got the nickname “Lenny”. Lenny’s Coolies was the place to be, a bustling business attracting customers from all walks of life. A lot of his customers grew very fond of him and with some, he developed lifetime friendships. He was extremely independent (this he got from his father) and he didn’t let anything stop him from doing what he desired to do. Lenneth was a jack of all trades. Plumbing, electrical, mechanics, air-conditioning, refrigeration, carpentry, tiling, and farming – you name it, he did it. Because his father had a farm, Lenneth developed a passionate love for farming. His friend, Emon, just as passionate about agriculture, spoke with him daily about developing the Bannister farm, which still exists today.

A TIME TO LOVE

On 25th December, 2002, Lenneth was united in holy matrimony to Samantha Camille Burrows. This union was blessed with two lovely children, Schamal and Lennique. During this time, he became a member of the Anglican denomination, where he attended St. Agnes Anglican Church and later Christ the King Parish Church. In recent years, he got baptized and confirmed by the Venerable Archdeacon G. Kingsley Knowles, which he was extremely proud of.

A TIME TO ENJOY LIFE

While juggling a successful business, Lenneth truly enjoyed playing BlackJack. Hard Rock Casino, in Hollywood, Florida was his second home. He enjoyed taking quick trips and often invited family and friends to try their luck at the blackjack table. In November 2022, he taught his niece, Hillary, blackjack, and they sat at the table for hours! He was a member of Extreme Bikers, as he loved riding his Harley Davidson. He loved exploring around the World, taking cruises or visiting Las Vegas, where he watched the Superbowl sometimes. Lenneth was very stern and blunt at times, but behind his seemingly unapproachable demeanor, he was a cool, caring, comedic person. He lived his life to the fullest!

A TIME TO DIE

During the second week of December 2022, Len said to his sister Carlene, “I’m going to sing in the choir in January 2023. There’s nothing else left for me to do.” He also said, “If I don’t get a transplant, I’m ready to go be with the Lord.”

On 15th January, 2023, at 4:05pm, he traded time for eternity. He is now and forever, free from all pain and is resting in peace.

The Lord gives and, the Lord takes away, blessed be the name of the Lord.

May Lenneth’s soul rest in peace and rise in glory.

ORDER OF SERVICE

RECEPTION OF THE BODY ......................................................................................................... Clergy

CELEBRANT: With faith in Jesus Christ, we receive the body of our brother LENNETH for burial. Our brother was washed in Holy Baptism and anointed with the Holy Spirit. Let us therefore, with confidence, pray to God our Heavenly Father, the Giver of life, that He will raise her to perfection in the company of the Saints.

CELEBRANT: The Lord be with you.

ALL: And also with you.

CELEBRANT: Let us pray.

O God of grace and glory, we remember before you this day our brother LENNETH. We thank you for giving her to us, her family and friends, to know and love as a companion on our earthly pilgrimage. In your boundless compassion, console us who mourn. Give us faith to see in death the gate of eternal life, so that in quiet confidence we may continue our course on earth, until, by your call, we are reunited with those who have gone before; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

ALL: Amen.

The Procession to the Sanctuary begins:

OPENING SENTENCES .....................................................................................................

CELEBRANT

Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and I am the life; he who believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and who ever lives and believes in me shall never die.” [John 11: 25-26]

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His compassion never fails: every morning they are renewed. [Lamentations 3:22-23]

Jesus said, “Let not your hearts be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me.” [John 14:1]

I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. [Romans 8: 38-39]

If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord; so then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s. For to this end Christ died and lived again, that He might be Lord both of the dead and of the living. [Romans 14: 8-9]

We brought nothing into this world, and we take nothing out. The Lord gives, and the Lord takes away: blessed be the name of the Lord. [Job 1:21]

The eternal God is our refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. [Deuteronomy 33:27]

INTROIT HYMN ................................................................................ “The King of Love My Shepherd Is”

The king of love my shepherd is, Whose goodness faileth never; I nothing lack if I am his, And he is mine for ever.

Where streams of living water flow

My ransomed soul he leadeth, And where the verdant pastures grow With food celestial feedeth.

Perverse and foolish oft I strayed, But yet in love He sought me, And on His shoulder gently laid, And home rejoicing brought me.

In death’s dark vale I fear no ill With thee, dear Lord, beside me; Thy rod and staff my comfort still, Thy cross before to guide me.

Thou spread’st a table in my sight; Thy unction grace bestoweth; And O what transport of delight From Thy pure chalice floweth!

And so through all the length of days Thy goodness faileth never: Good Shepherd, may I sing Thy praise Within Thy house for ever.

COLLECT FOR PURITY

ALL: Almighty God, to you all hearts are open, all desires known, and from you no secrets are hid: cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love you, and worthily magnify your Holy Name, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

COLLECT FOR THE DEPARTED

CELEBRANT: Let us pray:

Almighty God, we remember before you today your servant LENNETH, and we pray that, having opened to him the gates of a larger life, you will receive him more and more into your joyful service, that, with all who have served you in the past, he may share in the eternal victory of Jesus Christ our Lord; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

ALL: Amen.

THE MINISTRY OF THE WORD

THE FIRST LESSON .............................Ecclesiastes 3:1-11 ..................... Rev. Stephen Duncombe (friend)

READER: A Reading from the Book of Ecclesiastes, Chapter 3 verses 1 through 11.

1 For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: 2 a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; 3 a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4 a time to weep, and a time to

LENNETH BANNISTER - 9

laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5 a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6 a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;7 a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 8 a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace. 9 What gain has the worker from his toil? 10I have seen the business that God has given to the children of man to be busy with. 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.

READER: The Word of the Lord.

ALL: Thanks be to God.

HYMN .“Through All The Changing Scenes of Life”

Through all the changing scenes of life, in trouble and in joy, the praises of my God shall still my heart and tongue employ.

O magnify the Lord with me, with me exalt his Name; when in distress to him I call’d, He to my rescue came.

The Hosts of God encamp around the dwellings of the just; Deliverance he affords to all Who on his succor trust.

O make but trial of his love; experience will decide how bless’d are they, and only they, who in his truth confide.

Fear Him, ye saints, and you will then have nothing else to fear; make you his service your delight, your wants shall be His care.

To Father, Son and Holy Ghost, The God Whom we adore, Be glory, as it was, is now, And shall be evermore.

THE SECOND LESSON .................................... Rev. 7:9-17 ............... Michael Sampson (Brother-In-Law)

READER: A Reading from the Book of Revelation 7: 9-17.

9 After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands 10 and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” 11 All the angels stood around the throne and the elders and the four living creatures, and fell on their faces before the throne and worshipped God, 12 saying: “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom, Thanksgiving and honor and power and might, Be to our God forever and ever. Amen.”13 Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, “Who are these arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from?” 14 And I said to him, “Sir, you know.” So he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

15 Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple. And He who sits on the throne will dwell among them. 16 They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat; 17 for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to the living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”

READER: The Word of the Lord.

ALL: Thanks be to God.

LENNETH BANNISTER - 10

Master, speak! Thy servant heareth, Waiting for Thy gracious word, Longing for Thy voice that cheereth Master, let it now be heard. I am list’ning, Lord, for Thee; What hast Thou to say to me?

Often through my heart is pealing Many another voice than Thine, Many an unwilled echo stealing From the walls of this Thy shrine. Let Thy longed-for accents fall; Master, speak! and silence all.

Master, speak! though least and lowest, Let me not unheard depart; Master, speak! for oh, Thou knowest All the yearning of my heart. Knowest all its truest need; Speak! and make me blest indeed.

Master, speak! and make me ready, When Thy voice is truly heard, With obedience glad and steady, Still to follow every word I am listening, Lord, for Thee: Master, speak, oh, speak to me!

Speak to me by name, O Master, Let me know it is to me; Speak, that I may follow faster, With a step more firm and free, Where the Shepherd leads the flock In the shadow of the Rock!

THE HOLY GOSPEL ........................... (All Stand Including The family) ............................................ Clergy

GOSPELLOR: The Lord be with you.

ALL: And also with you.

GOSPELLOR: A Reading from the Holy Gospel According to John.

ALL: Glory to Christ our Saviour.

Jesus said, “Let not your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me. In my father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And when I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way where I am going.” Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way.” Jesus said to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but by me.”

GOSPELLOR: The Gospel of Christ.

ALL: Praise to Christ our Lord.

APOSTLE’S CREED

CELEBRANT: Let us with confidence and hope confess the faith into which we were baptized, as we say, ALL: I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day He rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy catholic church, the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

ALL: Let us then pursue the things that make for peace and build up the common life.

CELEBRANT: The peace of the Lord be always with you.

ALL: And also with you.

And can it be that I should gain An int’rest in the Savior’s blood? Died He for me, who caused His pain— For me, who Him to death pursued? Amazing love! How can it be, That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me? Amazing love! How can it be, That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?

’Tis mystery all: th’Immortal dies: Who can explore His strange design? In vain the firstborn seraph tries To sound the depths of love divine. ’Tis mercy all! Let earth adore, Let angel minds inquire no more.

’Tis mercy all! Let earth adore, Let angel minds inquire no more.

He left His Father’s throne above So free, so infinite His grace— Emptied Himself of all but love, And bled for Adam’s helpless race: ’Tis mercy all, immense and free, For O my God, it found out me!

’Tis mercy all, immense and free, For O my God, it found out me!

Long my imprisoned spirit lay, Fast bound in sin and nature’s night; Thine eye diffused a quick’ning ray— I woke, the dungeon flamed with light; My chains fell off, my heart was free, I rose, went forth, and followed Thee. My chains fell off, my heart was free, I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.

Still the small inward voice I hear, That whispers all my Sins forgiven; Still the attoning blood is near, That quenched the Wrath of hostile Heaven. I fell the life his wounds impart; I feel my Saviour in my heart. I fell the life his wounds impart; I feel my Saviour in my heart.

No condemnation now I dread; Jesus, and all in Him, is mine; Alive in Him, my living Head, And clothed in righteousness divine, Bold I approach th’eternal throne, And claim the crown, through Christ my own. Bold I approach th’eternal throne, And claim the crown, through Christ my own.

During the Singing of the Hymn the Elements are presented.

PRESENTATION OF THE OFFERING

CELEBRANT: Through your goodness, Lord, we have this bread and wine to offer, the fruit of the earth and the work of human hands. They will become our spiritual food.

ALL: All things come from you, O Lord, and of your own do we give you. Blessed be God forever. Amen.

CENSING HYMN ................................................................................................ “Jerusalem, the Golden”

Jerusalem the golden, With milk and honey blest, Beneath your contemplation Sink heart and voice oppressed. I know not, oh, I know not What joys await us there, What radiancy of glory, What bliss beyond compare.

They stand, those halls of Zion, All jubilant with song And bright with many and angel And all the martyr throng. The prince is ever in them; The daylight is serene; The pastures of the blessed Are decked in glorious sheen.

There is the throne of David, And there, from care released, The shout of those who triumph, The song of those who feast. And they, who with their leader Have conquered in the fight, Forever and forever Are clad in robes of white.

Oh, sweet and blessed country, The home of God’s elect! Oh, sweet and blessed country That eager hearts expect! In mercy, Jesus, bring us To that dear land of rest! You are, with God the Father And spirit, ever blest.

THE EUCHARISTIC PRAYER

CELEBRANT: The Lord be with you.

ALL: And also with you.

CELEBRANT: Lift up your hearts.

ALL: We lift them up to the Lord.

CELEBRANT: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

ALL: It is right, to give God thanks and praise.

CELEBRANT: It is right, and a good and joyful thing, always and everywhere to give you thanks, Father Almighty, everlasting God: Through Jesus Christ our Lord; who rose victorious from the dead, and comforts us with the blessed hope of life eternal. For to your faithful people, O Lord, life is changed, not ended; and when our mortal body lies in death, there is prepared for us a dwelling place eternal in the heavens. Therefore we praise you, joining our voices with angels and archangels and with all the company of heaven, who forever sing this hymn to proclaim the glory of your Name:

ALL: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might; heaven and earth are full of your glory, Hosanna in the highest. blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

LENNETH BANNISTER - 14

CELEBRANT: Sovereign Lord and Father, to You be glory and praise for ever. In Your boundless wisdom You brought creation into being; In Your great love You fashioned us in Your image; In Your tender compassion You sent Your Son, Jesus Christ, our Saviour, to share our human nature; In the power of the Holy Spirit, He overcame the power of sin and death and brought Your people to new birth as first fruits of Your new creation.

On the night that He was betrayed He took bread, and when He had given thanks to you, He broke it and gave it to his disciples and said: “Take this, and eat it: This is my Body which is given for you, Do this for the remembrance of me.”

And after supper He took the cup of wine: And when He had given thanks, He gave it to them and said: “Drink this, all of you: This is my Blood of the New Covenant, which is shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Whenever you drink it, do this for the remembrance of me.”

Therefore, Father, according to the command of your dearly beloved Son

ALL: We remember His death

We proclaim His resurrection

We await His coming in glory

CELEBRANT: And we offer You, Father, our sacrifice of thanks and praise. Send Your Holy Spirit on these gifts of bread and wine that they may become the Body and Blood of Your Son, Jesus, our Lord and Redeemer. As we partake of this holy food of new and unending life, may your Holy Spirit establish us as a royal priesthood with the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. John the Baptist and all Your sons and daughters who share in your eternal inheritance; through Jesus Christ our Lord. With Him and in Him and through Him, by the power of the Holy Spirit, we worship you, Father Almighty, with all who stand before you in earth and heaven, in songs of everlasting praise:

ALL: Blessing and honour and glory and power be yours for ever and ever. Amen.

THE LORD’S PRAYER

CELEBRANT: As our Saviour has taught us, so we pray:

ALL: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be your Name; your kingdom come; your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.

THE BREAKING OF BREAD

CELEBRANT: We break this bread to share in the body of Christ.

ALL: Though we are many, we are one body, because we all share in one bread.

CELEBRANT: The Gifts of God for the People of God.

ALL: Our souls will feast and be satisfied, and we will sing glad songs of praise to Him.

THE AGNUS DEI

ALL: Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world: grant her rest. Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world: grant her rest. Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world: grant her rest eternal.

THE COMMUNION

FIRST COMMUNION HYMNS “And Now, O Father, Mindful of the Love”

And now, O Father, mindful of the love That bought us, once for all, on Calvary’s tree, And having with us him that pleads above, We here present, we here spread forth to thee That only offering perfect in thine eyes, The one true, pure, immortal sacrifice.

Look, Father, look on his anointed face, And only look on us as found in him; Look not on our misusings of thy grace, Our prayer so languid, and our faith so dim; For lo, between our sins and their reward We set the passion of thy Son our Lord.

SECOND

Alleluia! Sing to Jesus! His the scepter, his the throne;

Alleluia! His the triumph, His the victory alone.

Hark! The songs of peaceful Zion Thunder like a mighty flood. Jesus, out of every nation, Has redeemed us by his blood.

Alleluia! Not as orphans Are we left in sorrow now; Alleluia! He is near us; Faith believes nor questions how.

Though the cloud from sight received him When the forty days were o’er, Shall our hearts forget his promise, “I am with you evermore”?

And then for those, our dearest and our best, By this prevailing presence we appeal; O fold them closer to thy mercy’s breast, O do thine utmost for their souls’ true weal; From tainting mischief keep them white and clear And crown thy gifts with grace to persevere.

And so we come: O draw us to thy feet Most patient Saviour, who canst love us still; And by this food, so aweful and so sweet, Deliver us from every touch of ill: In thine own service make us glad and free, And grant us nevermore to part from thee.

Alleluia! Heavenly High Priest, Here on earth our help, our stay; Alleluia! Hear the sinful Cry to you from day to day. Intercessor, friend of sinners, Earth’s Redeemer, hear our plea, Where the songs of all the sinless Sweep across the crystal sea.

Alleluia! King eternal, You the Lord of lords we own: Alleluia! born of Mary, Earth your footstool, heaven your throne: You within the veil, have entered, Robed in flesh, our great High Priest: By your Spirit, left us heavenward, In the Eucharistic feast!

LENNETH BANNISTER - 16

ALL: Almighty God, we thank you that in your great love you have fed us with the spiritual food and drink of the Body and Blood of your son Jesus Christ, and have given us a foretaste of your heavenly banquet. Grant that this Sacrament may be to us a comfort in affliction, and a pledge to our inheritance in that kingdom where there is no death, neither sorrow nor crying, but the fullness of joy with all your saints through Jesus Christ our Saviour. Amen.

Hark, my soul! it is the Lord; ‘tis thy Saviour, hear his word; Jesus speaks, and speaks to thee, ‘Say, poor sinner, lovest thou me?

‘I delivered thee when bound, and, when bleeding, healed thy wound; sought thee wandering, set thee right, turned thy darkness into light.

‘Can a woman’s tender care cease toward the child she bare? Yes, she may forgetful be, yet will I remember thee.

‘Mine is an unchanging love, higher than the heights above, deeper than the depths beneath, free and faithful, strong as death.

‘Thou shalt see my glory soon, when the work of grace is done; partner of my throne shalt be; say, poor sinner, lovest thou me?’

Lord, it is my chief complaint that my love is weak and faint; yet I love thee, and adore; O for grace to love thee more.

THE COMMENDATION

All Stand

CELEBRANT: Give rest, O Christ, to your servant with your saints.

ALL: Where sorrow and pain are no more, neither sighing, but life everlasting.

CELEBRANT: You only are immortal, the creator and maker of mankind; and we are mortal, formed of the earth, and to earth shall we return. For so did you ordain when you created me, saying, “You are dust, and to dust you shall return.” All of us go down to the dust; yet even at the grave we make our song: Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

ALL: Give rest, O Christ, to your servant with your saints, where sorrow and pain are no more, neither sighing, but life everlasting.

RECESSIONAL

“For All the Saints” (CPWI

For all the saints, who from their labours rest, Who Thee by faith before the world confessed, Thy Name, O Jesu, be forever blest. Alleluia. Alleluia.

Thou was’t their Rock, their Fortress and their Might; Thou, Lord, their Captain in the well fought fight; Thou, in the darkness, still , their one true Light. Alleluia. Alleluia.

LENNETH BANNISTER - 18
HYMN ............................................................................. 819)

O may Thy soldiers, faithful, true, and bold, Fight as the saints who nobly fought of old, And win with them, the victor’s crown of gold. Alleluia. Alleluia.

And when the strife is fierce, the warfare long, Steals on the ear the distant triumph-song, And hearts are brave again, and arms are strong. Alleluia. Alleluia.

The golden evening brightens in the west; Soon, soon to faithful warriors comes their rest: Sweet is the calm of paradise the blest. Alleluia. Alleluia.

But lo, there breaks a yet more glorious day; The saints triumphant rise in bright array: The King of glory passes on His way. Alleluia. Alleluia.

From earth’s wide bounds, from ocean’s farthest coast, Through gates of pearl streams in the countless host, Singing to Father, Son and Holy Ghost, Alleluia. Alleluia.

CLOSING SENTENCES

Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death, and giving life to those in the tomb. The Sun of Righteousness is gloriously risen, giving light to those who sat in darkness and in the shadow of death.

The Lord will guide our feet into the way of peace, having taken away the sin of the world. Christ will open the kingdom of heaven to all who believe in His name, saying, “Come, O Blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you.”

Into paradise may the angels lead you. At your coming may the martyrs receive you and bring you into the Holy City, Jerusalem.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE

THE COMMITTAL

There will be a happy meeting in Heaven, I know When we see the many loved ones we’ve known here below Gathered on that blessed hilltop with hearts all aglow That will be a glad reunion day

Glad day, a wonderful day, Glad day, a glorious day There with all the holy angels and loved ones to stay That will be a glad reunion day

When we live a million years in that wonderful place Basking in the love of Jesus, beholding His face It will seem but just a moment of praising His grace That will be a glad reunion day

There was a time I traveled

A lonely sinful road

Beneath a heavy burden bending low

But now all things are different

For Jesus took my load

It’s alright now, I’m His I know

It’s alright now

For I am in my Savior’s care

It’s alright now

My Savior hears and answers prayer

He’ll walk beside me

‘Til I climb the heav’nly stair

And ev’rything is alright now

As down a lonely pathway

Without a friend to guide

I walked in sin and sorrow all alone;

‘Til Jesus came and found me

And drew me to His side

It’s alright now for I’m His own

No more in sin I wander

No more in darkness roam

The Lord has placed

My feet on higher ground

Each day new heights I’m gaining

My soul is nearing home

It’s alright now, I’m heaven bound

GRAVESIDE HYMN. “Glad Reunion Day” GRAVESIDE HYMN ......................................................................................................... “It’s Alright Now”

TO MY Father,

It hurts me to be writing this, but your suffering has come to an end, You did the unthinkable, for that I commend. Many years of agony and pain, None of it done in vain. You were more than your illness, For God is my witness.

You were put to the test and you took on the challenge, For that Lenneth Bannister made you a savage.

Thank you for teaching me how to change a tire, This is a skill everyone should acquire.

Thank you for taking me to school on your bike, The embarrassment was totally worth the hype.

Thank you for taking me to farm, You really showed me how resourceful you are. Thank you for teaching me how to reverse in a truck, Not going to lie, I still kind of suck.

Thank you for always finding a way, This is a quality I also portray. There are many thanks to go around, But those are the ones that make me most proud.

Losing a parent is never easy, The thought of it still makes me queasy. Our relationship may have been estranged, But I am forever grateful sharing last names. So Lenneth Bannister, you finally get some sleep, And may your soul continue to rest in peace.

Your Daughter,

Lenneth

MY DARLING BROTHER

I don’t think or know if I will ever come across another person who would be as determined and dedicated as you were. You held on strong to the end and through your strength you gave me courage every day. I will always cherish and act upon the advices you have given me.

The past year 2022 – 2023 was a burdensome one for you with your dialysis, yet you held strong. You have fought an excellent fight and now you are safe in the arms of The Lord.

Your loving and caring sister, Carlene.

“NOT HOW DID HE DIE”

Not how did he die, but how did he live?

Not what did he gain, but what did he give? These are the units to measure the worth of a man as a man regardless of birth. Not, what was his Church, nor was his creed. But had he befriended those really in need? Was he ever ready, with a word of good cheer, t o bring back a smile, to banish a tear?

Not what did the sketch in the newspaper say but how many were sorry when he passed away. To everything there is a season, and to every purpose under the Heaven: Ecclesiastes 3:1

A TRIBUTE TO MY Brother

Tell me what does it looks like in heaven. Is it peaceful,Is it free like they say? Does the sun shine bright forever? Have your fears and pain gone away? Cause here on earth it feels like everything good is missing SINCE YOU LEFT. And here on earth everything different. There’s an emptiness . I hope your dancing in the sky and I hope your singing in the angels choir. I hope the angels know what they have. I bet it’s nice up in heaven since you’ve arrived. And if there’s a phone up in heaven and daddy or mommy or Shandy or Douglas hear it Lenny will run to answer it to say they are all together and watching over us. Gone too soon.

Big Boss

Thank you for the many memories we share. I have so many wise advice from you that’ll last me a lifetime. If I didn’t see you every day, I definitely spoke to you everyday. We’d be on the phone for hours from one topic to the next. From a small child , I was always your shadow. Whether you were in your trailer welding , in the back of the bar fixing a car ,in from of the bar gassing up a car’s a/c, repairing a cooler, doing plumbing for one for your investments, electrical at another, weeding the yard, mixing cement, you name it and I was there. I never just stood there and kept your company , I’d ask one million questions until I had an idea of what to do, then you’d let me try it out. If I did it correctly , you’d leave me to do it by myself and you’d work on something else. That’s just the relationship I had with both you and uncle Douglas. I remember when you taught me how to drive a manual car. It was extremely spontaneous and of very little instructions. You called to see if I was home , then you asked “ Stac, you know how the drive stick shift ?” I said “No sir.” Before I knew it , you were by me and said “Well why you ain’t dressed yet ? I have to go” I was so lost because you never asked me anything , it was always “Let’s go”. I went outside and you started the flatbed truck. You pointed out the clutch, the accelerator and the brakes. “ Sink the clutch, put it in 1st, slowly ease off the clutch and give it a lil gas at the same time. When we reach to a stop, press brakes and then sink the clutch. Let’s go.” You didn’t even stayed to make sure I understood the assignment. Before I could’ve confirmed those instructions in my head, you were already in the vehicle in front of me and began to pull off. You’ve always had great confidence in me. Though I stalled at every stop, we made it to the destination safely. You couldn’t wait for me to park that truck so you

say that you were. Instead, you came and said “ You so slow, just like Carlene and Deborah ‘dem man. I told you I have somewhere else to go, why you keep stalling out ?” I replied with something cheeky and we both laughed. Though you can be rough around the edges , I loved you wholeheartedly. You spoke your mind, I spoke mine and we quickly moved on from that. I’d never forget when you called me February 12th, 2022 at 3am. I answered my phone in a panic because we had just hung up a few hours ago. You had an early flight the next morning to attend the Super Bowl in Vegas and I thought you were calling to say you missed your flight. But I answered and you said “ Stac, Cleveland clinic just called and said they got a kidney. I’m on my way there now.” I cried like a baby. That’s all you ever wanted. Though things didn’t go according to your plans, I’m grateful to witness the miracle God did through you. From that day forth, you went through every avenue, travelled near and far just so you could get that. You are definitely the strongest person I’ve ever met. Big Boss, I miss you already.

Take your much needed rest, Mr. busy body.

A TRIBUTE TO Lenneth

Len, why did you leave before we had that last conversation?

Nevertheless, we shared numerous precious moments that time cannot erase. I truly appreciate the unique relationship that we had. The opportunity of being there as a big sister during your primary school years was the catalyst that made our relationship so special. It was another opportunity for me to play the role as big sister.

Len you did not just live , you lived every day with a purpose. Your insatiable desire to create and explore new ideas was one of the things that I admired about you. In your own special way, you have touched many lives by your selfless acts of kindness. You were always strong, energetic, tenacious, hardworking, and very resilient. You always made the best use of every opportunity that you encountered. I enjoyed being big sis, and I will always cherish the moments that we shared. I am glad that my shoulders were there when you needed to lean in your difficult moments, your calls were priority, and I took pride in listening and sharing, godly wisdom. It’s difficult to say goodbye, but it’s a must. You will be deeply missed, but I have settled peace about your departure because I know that death is only a servant that open the doors to a better life. You are fought a good fight and finished your course. So you go on and take your heavenly rest. Someday we will meet around God’s throne.

May your soul rest in peace and rise in glory

Big Sis, Ludell Whylly

Dear Uncle Lenny,

Never in a million years would I fathom your demise. You were so strong; every time you were knocked down, you got back up and strived on. You never felt sorry for yourself or gave in to the negativities of this life. You were always one call away and would give me an encouraging word about my career or life in general. You would always invite me on a trip and I’m so glad I spent your last time at the Hardrock Casino with you at the Blackjack table. One thing I will always remember you being is a fighter; you were a man who lived life your way to the very end! I will cherish the memories until we meet again. Salud!

Your Niece, Hillary
