IN LOVING MEMORY OF
ELOISE HARRIS
September 17, 1989 - January 7, 2024
Krystal Eloise Harris, born on September 17, 1989 to Lionel and Lavonne Harris, was a cherished daughter, sister, niece and devoted mother. She entered the world joining her brothers Kelvin and Karlyle as the third child and the only daughter, bringing joy and harmony to the Harris family. Her father, Lionel, was thrilled to finally have a baby girl.
Krystal’s life was a melody, and she was a songbird from birth. She discovered her passion for music early on and became a cherished member of her Bahamas Faith Ministries’ Children’s Choir, the Bahamas National Children’s Choir, and the Bahamas National Youth Choir. Her voice resonated not only through her performances but also in the hearts of those who had the privilege of listening.
Her journey continued at Kingsway Academy, where she graduated with The Class of 2008. While there she touched the lives of many fellow students with her warmth, kindness, and love for life, and her infectious spirit left an indelible mark on everyone she met.
The happiest day of her Krystal’s life came when she embraced the role of motherhood, giving birth to her beloved son, Kristoff.
Krystal found immense joy and purpose in nurturing and guiding him through life. Every day was planned around Kristoff, packing his lunch, dressing him for school, teaching and helping him learn new words, crying when he said something new and celebrating every milestone he made with a thousand kisses. Krystal always said she had “two babies.” The second one being (Eloise Strachan), her 86-year-old maternal grandmother. It was extraordinary for a young woman like Krystal to take such loving care of her grandmother, sacrificing many outings with friends, or sometimes leaving events early to go home to Mama. The two had a special bond and while it was sometimes exhausting, Krystal would often get up in the middle of the night to help Mama and then rush to fix her breakfast before leaving for work.
On Sunday, January 7, 2024, Krystal was called home to be with her Lord and Savior. In her passing, she leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering faith. Her family and friends meant the world to her, and she cherished the bond with her brothers Ricardo, Kelvin, and Karlyle, and her many cousins who grew up with her.
As we bid farewell to Krystal, let us remember her as the radiant soul who brought harmony to our lives, and may her memory continue to inspire love and unity among those who knew her. In our hearts, she will forever remain a cherished songbird singing in the symphony of our memories.

KRYSTAL ELOISE HARRIS
A TRIBUTE FROM
LIONEL HARRISFather
Hello world... here I come! 1989 was the year when I could finally say “I have a daughter.” I felt proud to know that God had granted my deepest desire which was to have a daughter. I loved the nurturing journey from baby to young woman. As a baby, I cherished just having Krystal lay on my chest and sleep while I admired her.
Children have traits of their grandparents. One of our children had my father’s hands, another my
father-in-law’s hands, and another my father’s feet, but this baby girl had my feet and that was special to me. On cold nights I would heat the iron and warm Krystal’s bed before putting her to sleep.
Krystal was my song bird; she loved to sing and I enjoyed her singing. We went to church together. My wife and I taught the children to appreciate the awesomeness of God’s love for us through Jesus our Lord. It now
gives me great comfort to know that Krystal’s last words were “Thank you Jesus, you are the healer, thank you Lord.”
I loved Krystal. We will continue to love her by taking care of her son, Kristoff. She was not perfect, none of us are, but we shared a perfect love. I made it my business to let all my children know that I loved them, so Krystal knew she was loved. Peace and love forever.
MY Daughter
My daughter, Krystal E. Harris, who I fondly called ‘my one rose’ has gone to sleep.
I recall when you were just a toddler that I asked the Lord to let me live to see you reach age 18 so you could fend for yourself, and He kept me.
After you reached age 18, I had to pray for Him to keep you through your twenties because you were hell bent on testing your Dad and me with our 12-1pm curfew. There was always your excuse of “My phone died,” or “I didn’t hear the phone...it was down in my bag.” still God kept you safe.
Then came another stage…your thirties, and so along came my heartstring, my grandson, Kristoff. It’s amazing how at each stage of your life the enemy tested you; you were always being challenged. Sometimes you fell down, but you always got back up! You reminded me of myself. My word to you and your brothers was always “Live right so should the Lord come or call you home, you would be ready”. Krystal you always listened and were sure to repeat my words back to me when it was appropriate. Then you›d laugh and say «Mummy, I always listen to you, you know. I know you think I don›t listen.”... and then we’d both laugh in agreement.
Krys, you were always so respectful and protective. When your peers were out having fun, most times you were home babysitting Mama & Kristoff, and even when you went out, it was as if you had a self-imposed curfew, because like Cinderella, you had to rush home before your 12-oclock curfew’ to care for Mama. I would always tell you not to worry and that God was going to bless you because of your sacrifice. You’d say “Yeah,” but with some reservation.
You cared for Mama during your teenage years and for years as a young adult, For this, my siblings and I could never repay you. Making Mama’s coffee & toast every morning before getting yourself and Kristoff ready for school and /work was a norm. You loved and cared for Mama when others may have complained and moved on.
You had your shortcomings, you were not perfect by far, but when you fell, you always got back up. If the truth be told, the love you shared with everyone far outweighed your imperfections. You loved from the heart and as a Harris family, we expressed that on every phone call or each time we met.
Krystal, I can’t believe you’re not here in the flesh with us but I do think I have an idea of where you went! When Mama told me how you asked her to sing “The blood that Jesus shed for me” and how you sang along, and were praising and thanking God for His healing moments before you slipped away, I am convinced you knew Jesus Christ personally and met Him before you passed.
Krystal’s death was quick and like the Bible says, “No man knows when God and man reconcile,” (see 2 Corinthians 5:16-21), however some may not have time or opportunity to commit their lives to the Lord before dying, so I admonish everyone to get your soul right with God! Don’t let this opportunity pass you by.
To those of you who have blessed us with your presence, we thank you. Know this though: “That the enemy wants to sift you like wheat (Luke 22:31-34), but God has come to give you life eternal (John 3:16).
Krystal’s transition should serve as your warning after which you have no excuse should God call your name and you’re not ready to meet Him.
As you read this simply pray: Father God, I am a sinner. I have strayed away from you but today I commit myself anew to you. Forgive me of any sin I have committed and give me your eternal life. I believe and accept you in my heart as the manager of my life, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
If you genuinely prayed this prayer and you believe it in your heart, you have been born again. Go and tell someone and begin to attend a biblebelieving church of your choice so that you can be taught the word of God. (BFM is a good choice).
Again, I thank you all and I pray God’s Blessings upon you and your families
MOM, LAVONNE HARRIS

YOU WERE beautiful, kind, sweet and loving.
Never pretentious, never shy. I will miss our daily conversations, your laughter, your love, and genuine smile. I’m smiling now as I reflect on the way you greeted me with so much joy and excitement each time I came home. One would think I was royalty.
I will miss hearing you say “ Miss, when you comin, your baby waitin’ on you!” or “You know you’re the last Aunty” . I will miss cooking for you, making you pancakes and seeing you dance as you ate. I will miss all the videos you shared of Kristoff and the way you cried with each new word he said. I struggle now to find words, trying to understand this horrible nightmare. Not Krissy...the life of the party. I saw you just hours
before, so happy, radiant, and looking forward to a great year.
As I sit writing this, with Kristoff (Mr.) sleeping on my chest...I only see you. My heart breaks, for him, for you. The shock of your passing is making no sense but I want you to know that I will do everything in my power to help your Mum and Dad give Mr. a great life. I love you soooooo much Krissy and I am grateful that we had wonderful moments together. You were a blessing, Krystal Eloise Harris, and you will never be forgotten. May God welcome you, our beautiful Flower, and may you rest easy in eternal peace.
WANDA STRACHAN (AUNT)
Krystal,
I will miss you dearly. Your warm smile, special hugs, bright laughter and radiant beauty will never be forgotten.
We love you dearly and will always be thankful for your warm and loving presence in our lives. We don’t understand but we trust God and believe that you are with Him.
May your soul rest in peace.
AUNT DORETHA (DORETHA MILLER)
SHOCKED, CONFUSED AND A BIT FRUSTRATED,
I just could not believe or understand why God had to call you soon. I’m guessing He needed your angelic voice to join His Choir of Angels.
I am so grateful for the friendship we had. From the age of 12 years to now, you became my sister, creating memories that I will continue to cherish for the rest of my life. Always putting someone else’s needs and comforts before your own, you were a gem to this earth, and I hope you knew that you were and still are loved unconditionally.
Not knowing that this time would come, God allowed us time over the holidays to share our appreciation for each other in our lives…We embraced and said “I love you” not knowing it would be the last. Thank you for giving us Kristoff. He’s the sweetest boy and we will continue to pour love into him and remind him of how many lives his mother touched with her voice, her smile, and her love.
I will miss you and love you forever.
Krystal,
from the moment that you left me and Kristoff, my heart was split in two. One side filled with memories; the other side died with you.
Since you left us on January 7th, I’ve had little time to sleep, and I’ve taken many walks down memory lane with tears running down my cheeks.
Remembering you is easy, I do it every day, but missing you is a heartache that will never fade away.
I’ll hold you tightly in my heart and there forever you will stay.
Wishing you could come back to Kristoff and me, to take this pain away.
LOVE YOU FOREVER, SHELDON
YOUR SISTER KRYSTLE

AS I KNEW HER: Leona Eleanor
My preciousbelovedKrystal.
So beautiful and full of life. You were always there for us as we shared our lives. We celebrated, we cried, encouraged, supported each other dreams and aspirations. You were always present. My girls simply saw you as their sister and I embraced you as my niece. You were one of the last girls to join the “Sanhedrin Council’s 2nd generation, and you ensured that those older ones stuck together. You are gone that’s difficult to understand and accept, as you were always there giving your support and suggestions, ensuring that Uncle Mark’s desire was continued, that we be there for each other. We did very little without you and as we made plans for family fellowship someone would say “Call Krystal”.
You showed up with Kristoff at every family function participating, laughing and ensuring that everyone got something to eat. I recall our last game night on Thursday December 28th, where you sat quietly with Kristoff, those beautiful eyes showed weariness and then you left early because you were tired and wanted to check on Mama. You did not participate as you normally did, not knowing that your spirit man was preparing to meet the lover of your soul.
This is really painful to say goodbye, but I am reminded once again that we are only passing through, and that everything on earth is temporary.
Thanks, Krystal for your limitless love, your compassion and kindness Your bold but gentle spirit and your consistent check ”Aunt Cyp you okay”. I am missing you so much. May your soul rest in eternal peace until we meet again.
AUNT CYP
(CYPRIANNA BETHEL)
Hi Baby!Krissy,
This feels crazy to have to talk to you in the past tense and my heart still jumps when I recall the shock and pain of you leaving us. I remember being frightened when your mom, my big sister, was pregnant with you. She was so sick and miserable…but oh the joy when you were born…a baby girl! Lionel and Lavon’s only baby girl was here. You were showered with love and gave so much in return. We always referred to you as “Miss Kissy Kissy,” because as a child you loved to hug and kiss everyone.
Fast forward 34 years, and I can say Krissy, you became a lifeline for all of us. You cared for Mummy and were the biggest advocate to keep our large family united. For 3 years you fussed me and Uncle Anton for spending Christmases abroad with our kids and not insisting they come home. They were all studying and working abroad, and it was hard, but finally, Christmas 2023, they all came home. What a wonderful time we had together last month. No one had a clue that this would be our last Christmas with you, and now Justin, Lindsay and Andrew are so grateful that they came home.
Who’s going to open the door when I come to visit Mummy during the week, Krystal? It was always you with a smile. It was you whom we sat with, along with Carol and Karlyle, hanging out with Mama in the evenings, and you never left the front door until you saw me safely leave in my car. I’m so happy that we didn’t take love for granted and always said “I love you, Sweetie” and hugged and kissed each time. It’s so painful Krissy. You had so many dreams and plans. I know that Jehovah God, our Creator, gives life and takes life away, but this time it really hurts because none of us got the chance to say goodbye. My only joy comes from the assurance Jesus gave us that as believers we are only asleep in death and will see each other again.
I miss you, Krissy. Thank you for blessing us with Kristoff. Not to worry…he will be love and cherished too!
HOPE SEALEY (AUNT)
MY DARLING Krystal,
I never imagined that December 27th would be the last time I would have given you a hug and a kiss. You were beautiful, young, and full of life, love, and the potential to do great things. You were my cherished niece and daughter of my heart since the day you were born. When I think of you, I will remember your laugh, vibrant spirit, zest for life, and love for your family and friends. I will remember every precious moment we shared, from the time we danced the night away at your sweet sixteen birthday party to your fearlessness as you caught your first barracuda during our trip to Long Island. I will cherish all these memories because they are a treasure, just like you.
I will remember the purity of your heart
and your willingness to help anyone in need. I will remember watching you blossom into a wonderful mother, working tirelessly to ensure Kristoff had everything he needed to thrive. I will remember your beautiful voice, a symphony of joy and love that resonated deeply within us.
Though my heart is broken because you have left us much too soon, I will hold on to each adventure, shared giggle, precious memory, priceless and irreplaceable, and the faith that through Christ, we will see each other again.
With all my love until that glad reunion day.
AUNT KAY (KAY GARDINER)
Writing this was far from easy!
You not being here with us feels surreal and crazy to even think of. We’ve spent so many years together, from playing in Mama’s yard by the cherry tree, to walking to the beach during the summer months or splashing around in Aunty Hope’s or Aunty Kay’s pool, to becoming young adults, and now having families of our own.
As we’ve gotten older life has certainly changed but as we reflect on your life and talk about you and the times we’ve had with you , one thing has remained the same year after year, your love for us all, the way you made us feel, and the love we all have for you! You were a constant reminder of how important family is and what it truly means to love unconditionally in spite of our differences. We know you knew how much you meant to us all but had we known that that Sunday would’ve been your last, we would’ve made sure to hug you a little tighter the last few times we saw you , kept you on the phone a
little longer the last few times we called you, to hear your voice and that laugh once more, to tell you thank you for the amazing job you did living with Mama, being her right hand, confidant and a huge help these past few years! Mama holds a major piece of all of our hearts and you being there with her and for her is something we the entire family will eternally be grateful for! You’ve had your own special relationship with each of us individually but we can all agree that your kind hearted nature, your loving spirit, the moments we’ve shared and the memories you’ve helped our family create will always be cherished! You were a phenomenal woman Krissy, an amazing mother, a beautiful daughter, loving granddaughter, a fantastic niece, the sweetest cousin and a loyal and true friend! Thank you for being apart of our lives!
We miss you and will love you always.

To my sister & best friend,
Our paths crossed in College in Toronto, where we not only became roommates, but we became inseparable. We barely knew each other at this time, but we knew that we were meant to be. We experienced a whole new phase in our lives together. We grew together. We laughed. We cried. We rode on the subways and navigated the big city together. We travelled to each other when college was over and grew to become family. The sisterhood we built is my forever home. I am grateful to have known you. Your soul and your presence is something I never knew I needed. You were so beautiful. Your laughter, your voice, your smile, your dimples, lit up every room you walked in. Thank you for your kindness, your love, your wisdom, and accepting me and everyone around you for who they are. You loved hard and you enjoyed people and the blessings of life. You took on opportunities as they came to you and always made the best of every situation. You were driven. You were strong. You had goals. Your soul was pure and comforting to anyone who had crossed your path. People gravitated towards your spirit. I cannot articulate how special you are to me. You centered your life around God and your family. In every conversation we had, you were giving praise to the Lord and you would speak about your son, family and friends who you loved so much. One thing you knew for sure was that you were meant to be a mother. You had so much love to give and you prayed for that blessing. I can’t express how happy I am that you have gotten to experience motherhood and experience your precious child.
Your strong faith and walk with Christ brought me and everyone around you closer to God. What a beautiful blessing you are. I
will cherish every memory I have of us, and hold it close to me. Our late night laughs, our singing sessions, deep talks, our cuddles, and just straight out being silly. My favorite times are just being awake with you in the middle of the night. Talking and laughing until we fell asleep mid conversation. I loved to bug you and hear you say, “Girl, get this camera off me, girl!” or “What’s wrong with this girl?!” with the biggest smile on your face. We spent days on end with each other, whether that was living together or driving 30+ hours straight from my hometown to Toronto together. We missed each other the moment we were away from each other. We would say “Bye,” and message each other within a couple minutes saying, “I miss you already!” We expressed so much love to each other every time we spoke and for that I am grateful.
I’ve been listening to our voice notes, reading all of our messages and looking at our pictures and videos every day, trying to relive every moment with you. You live in my heart forever and ever.
Thank you for the family you’ve blessed me with. It pains me that our physical time here on earth is over but spiritually we are never apart.
I will keep my promise to you and be there for Kristoff and your family and friends.
I miss you every day and I love you so much. Sleep peacefully.
Until we see each other again my Sweet Buuushkins.
