Opening Hymn ”I’m Pressing On the Upward Way” (CPWI 418)
I’m pressing on the upward way, New heights I’m gaining every day; Still praying as I’m onward bound, “Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.”
Refrain: Lord, lift me up and let me stand, By faith, on Heaven’s tableland, A higher plane than I have found; Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
My heart has no desire to stay Where doubts arise and fears dismay; Though some may dwell where those abound, My prayer, my aim, is higher ground.
Refrain
I want to live above the world, Though Satan’s darts at me are hurled; For faith has caught the joyful sound, The song of saints on higher ground.
Refrain
I want to scale the utmost height And catch a gleam of glory bright; But still I’ll pray till heav’n I’ve found, Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
Opening Prayer Clergy
Reading Hebrews 4: 14-16
Mrs. Angela Davis (Daughter-in-Law)
14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and fnd grace to help in time of need.
Leader: The Word of the Lord.
All: Thanks be to God.
Psalm Psalm 145: 14-21 Mr. Tyler Wallace (Grand-Nephew)
14 The Lord upholds all who fall, And raises up all who are bowed down. 15 The eyes of all look expectantly to You, And You give them their food in due season. 16 You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing. 17 The LORD is righteous in all His ways, gracious in all His works. 18 The LORD is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth. 19 He will fulfll the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them. 20 The Lord preserves all who love Him, But all the wicked He will destroy. 21 My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord, and all fesh shall bless His holy name forever and ever.
Leader: Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
All: As it was in the beginning is now and shall be forever. Amen.
My Jesus, I love Thee, I know Thou art mine; For Thee all the follies of sin I resign; My gracious Redeemer, my Savior art Thou; If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.
I love Thee because Thou hast frst loved me, And purchased my pardon on Calvary’s tree; I love Thee for wearing the thorns on Thy brow; If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.
I’ll love Thee in life, I will love Thee in death, And praise Thee as long as Thou lendest me breath; And say when the death dew lies cold on my brow, If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.
In mansions of glory and endless delight, I’ll ever adore Thee in heaven so bright; I’ll sing with the glittering crown on my brow, If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.

Hymn ........................................................... “The King of Love My Shepherd Is” (CPWI 476)
The king of love my shepherd is, Whose goodness faileth never; I nothing lack if I am his And he is mine for ever.
Where streams of living water fow My ransomed soul he leadeth, And where the verdant pastures grow With food celestial feedeth.
Perverse and foolish oft I strayed, But yet in love he sought me, And on his shoulder gently laid, And home rejoicing brought me.
In death’s dark vale I fear no I’ll With thee, dear Lord, beside me; Thy rod and staff my comfort still, Thy cross before to guide me.
Thou spread’st a table in my sight; Thy unction grace bestoweth; And O what transport of delight From thy pure chalice foweth!
And so through all the length of days Thy goodness faileth never: Good shepherd, may I sing thy praise Within thy house for ever.

Closing Hymn ........................................... “The Day Thou Gavest Now Is Ended” (CPWI 26)
The day you gave us, Lord, is ended, the darkness falls at your behest; to you our morning hymns ascended, your praise shall hallow now our rest.
We thank thee that your church, unsleeping while earth rolls onward into light, through all the world her watch is keeping, and rests not now by day or night.
As o’er each continent and island the dawn leads on another day, the voice of pray’r is never silent, nor dies the strain of praise away.
The sun, that bids us rest, is waking our brethren ‘neath the western sky, and hour by hour fresh lips are making your wondrous doings heard on high.
So be it, Lord; your throne shall never, like earth’s proud empires, pass away; but stand and rule and grow forever, ‘til all your creatures own your sway.
