CELEBRATION OF LIFE FOR THE LATE Elizabeth
![]()
Monday, 28 October 1968 on the beautiful island of Nassau, a baby girl was born to Eledeiue Joseph (deceased) and Nancy Telusma (deceased). They gave her the name, Elizabeth Ann Telusma.
Elizabeth was a gem in the eyes of both of her parents who saw her as the brain of the family. She had such a bond with her parents that on the passing of her mother, she knew she needed a higher power to comfort her in her pain and grief. Elizabeth, affectionately known as Liz, knelt next to her bed and accepted Jesus Christ into her heart.
Liz was educated at Our Lady’s Primary School and went onto Aquinas College where she graduated with her high school diploma. Liz’s parents encouraged her to be a nurse, but it was not God’s calling for her. Her education would not stop with a high school diploma but take her to Success Training College where she obtained an Associate Degree in Secretarial Science and later a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Omega College. Liz had a hunger for more of God and had recently started Trinity College of the Bible and Theological Seminary where she was pursuing a Master Degree in Counseling.
Up to the time of Liz’s passing she was gainfully employed at Bahamas Agricultural & Industrial Corporation. She was previously employed at Bahamas Development Bank and Super Value Food Stores in her early professional life.
Liz’s first marriage to A. Emmanuel Moss Jr bore two beautiful girls: the first Aniquia - affectionately known as Peaches - and Tanishka. Unfortunately that marriage did not last, and Liz eventually remarried in 1996. Her marriage to Keith Armbrister bore her heart’s desire, a son. The couple named him Kevaughn Armbrister. Although that marriage ended some time later, Liz continued to provide care for her family whom she loved.
Liz’s family extended to the Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church where she was born, served and will receive her final Christian rites. There she has served on various ministries including: Parish Pastoral Council, Eucharistic Ministers, Women Auxiliary, Legion of Mary, Ushers, CCD, and others. Liz also participated in programs across the diocese including TEC, Kiononia, Theology on Tap, RCA Youth Leaders and Get on The Bus. Her passion for Youth led her to complete the Ministry of Education’s Youth Leaders Certification Programme. Up to the time of her passing, Liz was the Assistant Secretary General of the Bahamas General Workers Union (BGWU).
On 13 July 2021 while on Zoom, Liz felt God was calling her to end the Family Matters Bible Study which the family hosted weekly during the lockdowns. She gave her last teaching on the mentioned date with the hope to start again in the future. This, God would not have it to be as she was called home on 13 July 2022 after a short, aggressive illness.
Liz had a vibrant personality, elegant style and was full of passion. She was a counselor to many, loved by many and will be greatly missed by many.

Celebrant: My soul is waiting for the Lord, I count on His Word.
People: My soul is longing for the Lord more than watchman for daybreak.
Celebrant: Because with the Lord there is mercy and fullness of redemption.
People: Israel indeed He will redeem from all its iniquity.
Celebrant: To the Father Almighty give glory, give glory to His Son.
People: To the Spirit, most holy, give praise, whose reign is forever.
Celebrant: I place all my trust in You my God: All my hope is in Your saving word. The grace and peace of God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
People: And with your spirit
Celebrant: Praised be God the Father of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all consolation. He comforts us in all our afflictions and thus enables us to comfort those who are in trouble, with the same consolation we have received from him.
People: Blessed be God the Father of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Celebrant: I bless the body of our sister Elizabeth with the holy water that recalls baptism into Christ of which St. Paul writes: “All of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death.” By baptism into His death we were buried together with Him, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might live a new life. For if we have been united with Him by likeness to His death, so shall we be united with Him by likeness to His resurrection.
Entrance Hymn......................................................................................"Be Still And Know" (First 2 verses)
Be still and know that I am God
Be still and know that I am God
Be still and know that I am God
I am the Lord that healeth thee
I am the Lord that healeth thee
I am the Lord that healeth thee
(In remembrance of her baptism, we place a white pall over the remains of our sister Elizabeth, (family members) assists with the placing of the white pall on the casket):
Celebrant: On the day of her Baptism Elizabeth put on Christ. In the day of Christ’s coming may she be clothed with glory.
People: Amen
Entrance Hymn ........................................................................................ "Be Still And Know" (continued)
In thee, O Lord, I put my trust
In thee, O Lord, I put my trust
In thee, O Lord, I put my trust
Celebrant: Behold the light of Christ.
People: Thanks be to God.
Celebrant: Jesus says: “I am the resurrection and the life, the person who believes in Me, though he/ she dies, yet shall that person live, and whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?
People: Yes, we believe that Jesus is the Anointed One, the Son of God, who is come into the world.
Celebrant: We must work the works of Him who sent us while it is day, for night comes when no one can work. “As long as I am in the world”, Jesus says, “I am the light of the world”.
Celebrant: The Lord is with you.
People: And with your spirit.
Celebrant: Let us pray:
Almighty Father, You raised Your Son, Jesus Christ, from the dead, so that we who believe Him to be the Light of the world may, with Him, be brought to the fullness of Light in His resurrection. Grant, we ask you, that our sister Elizabeth who has left this world will inherit eternal life, through the same Jesus Christ, Your Son, Our Lord, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, One God forever and ever.
People: Amen.

Responsorial Psalm ............................................................................................ "The Lord is My Shepherd"
The Lord’s my Shepherd, I’ll not want; He makes me down to lie In pastures green; He leadeth me The quiet waters by.
My soul He doth restore again, And me to walk doth make Within the paths of righteousness, E’en for His own name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk in death’s dark vale, Yet will I fear no ill; For Thou art with me, and Thy rod And staff me comfort still.
My table Thou hast furnished In presence of my foes; My head Thou dost with oil anoint, And my cup overflows.
Goodness and mercy all my life Shall surely follow me, And in God’s house forevermore My dwelling-place shall be.

Great is thy faithfulness, O God my Father, there is no shadow of turning with thee. Thou changest not, thy compassions, they fail not; as thou hast been, thou forever wilt be.
Great is thy faithfulness! Great is thy faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see; all I have needed thy hand hath provided. Great is thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!
Summer and winter and springtime and harvest, sun, moon, and stars in their courses above join with all nature in manifold witness to thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love.
Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth, thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide, strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow, blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!
