Located in one of the most active sectors of Quito. La Carolina neighborhood is a place full of movement, where different kind of activities are hold and auditive polution is one of the main issues of this urban environment. In this way, the project integrates to the context without denying the urban nature of the place. Therefore, the project minimizes the impact of this stressful environment over the city inhabitants, adopting a nature profile, and turning this project into a refugee for those who like enjoying from a peaceful lecture time or different community activities. The strategies used in this project includes the creation of patios and plazas that are vinculed to the context, and origin spaces with more accustic control. . and book.

This green roof was developed to provide citizens of a public space that embraces nature while adapts to La Carolina

Having a good apetizer or a good warm coffee while reading a great book can be a rewarding experience. This is why the cafeteria space is the perfect mix for those who love eating but also books. But don’t worry you can also have a great conversation while you wait for your favorite event.

The whole project was planned to develop different kind of relations between its spaces, this reading room has a visual relation with a public space ( café-restaurant).

More events for the city, this auditorium was created to hold different kind of activities, as forums, movies projections, conferences, etc. The idea is to promote different kind of cultural activities.
