YOU’VE only got to see the Lady Cutler and Hans Claven soccer fields in Dubbo on the weekends to see just how popular soccer is in our city – those playing fields are packed with soccer players with soccer-loving supporters on the sidelines. Even though Australia has bowed out of soccer’s World Cup, that support for the game is as strong as ever. For the lead-up to the World Cup final, to be played in just

a few days time, Dubbo Photo News lined up players from South Dubbo Wanderers club for today’s cover, which features members from the under-5 to under-15 teams, which are sponsored by the Greater Bank. These boys and girls told us they’ve been closely watching the Socceroos and many stayed up very late (or early in the morning) to watch Tim Cahill play against Peru in what was

likely to be his last professional match for his country. The Dubbo team also told us they play every Saturday between the hours of 9am and 3pm and the youngest player is four years old.
