The Pan Pacific Masters Games acknowledges and pays respect to the Kombumerri people of the Yugumbeh language region, the Saltwater People of the Gold Coast, as the traditional owners of the lands and waters upon which we invite and welcome participants from across the globe to experience our events.
I am thrilled to welcome you to the 2024 Pan Pacific Masters Games on the Gold Coast.
The Gold Coast is known for its beautiful beaches, exciting attractions and incredible culinary scene, making it the perfect destination to hold this event.
The Pan Pacific Masters Games will significantly benefit the local community, the businesses within it and the future success of our state.
The Queensland Government is proud to support the Pan Pacific Masters Games through Tourism and Events Queensland’s Major Event funding.
Queensland’s growing events calendar highlights our state’s reputation as a destination for great entertainment and unique visitor experiences.
If you are visiting for the event, I hope you’ll make the most of your time here and get out to experience all the wonderful things that the Gold Coast has to offer.
Patricia O’Callaghan Chief Executive Officer Tourism and Events Queensland
It’s funny how life can often go full circle. In my case, it feels like three full circles and a few u-turns in between.
More than 30 years ago, I competed in over-35s rugby at the Pan Pacific Masters Games.
Fast forward to 2024 and I have again entered the games – this time in powerlifting. Just goes to show what incredible appeal these games have on not only today’s competitors but in my instance, a long-retired ex-rugby player.
With that in mind, I welcome the thousands of Games’ athletes, officials, sponsors and supporters to the magical Gold Coast. We live and breathe sport – from the GC2018 Commonwealth Games to world swimming, world kite surfing, amazing air shows and world triathlon.
As a city, we have invested billions of dollars in new sports facilities, community venues and sports science and technology. This investment has been made with one goal in mind: to position the coast as the destination-of-choice when it comes to large-scale sports, festivals and events.
If my memory services me well, the Pan Pacs is as much about the fun off the field as it is about the on-field rivalry. I certainly hope that’s the case as I’ll admit that what my 65-year-old mind wants to do, the body doesn’t always follow. Re-living those memories at the after-party may be the best place to be!
As Mayor, I hope you all forge new friendships, set records and take away life-long memories from your time here on the coast. I know that hosting the 2024 games is a huge coup for our city given the Pan Pacs are widely recognised as one of the most enjoyable – and valuable – festivals in Australia.
I encourage you all to stay a little longer, party a little harder and take in everything on offer in this beautiful city.
Let the Games begin!
Cr Tom Tate Mayor City of Gold Coast
Welcome to the 13th edition of the Pan Pacific Masters Games. We are delighted that you chose to enter or come on board as a supporter of this iconic masters sporting extravaganza.
We have more than 15,000 participants who hail from as far away as Mongolia, Uzbekistan, the UK, USA and Colombia with big teams from New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and India and every state and territory in Australia.
We were delighted to see entries in the younger masters categories 0-19 years, 20-24 years and 24-29 years growing significantly helping to dispel the age-old myth that masters sports is for over 30s only.
This year we will host 45 sports at world-class venues and facilities where many of Australia’s Olympic and Paralympic athletes trained to reach the pinnacle of their sports. As Queensland gears up to host the 2032 Olympic Games we are excited to demonstrate our expertise in major event delivery with the 2024 Pan Pacific Masters Games.
This event is renowned for its fierce but friendly competition and particularly famous for its exclusive Games Village where you can celebrate with teammates and friends new and old. This year the line up over six nights of live entertainment includes some of Australia’s most well know musicians. And on those nights when the Village has a night off, there’s a plethora of restaurants, cafes and entertainment options for you to experience across the city.
On behalf of the team at Events Management Queensland please enjoy being a part of this increasingly popular Australian event and the Asia Pacific regions biggest and best masters games held in the country’s number one holiday and sporting event destination. We hope your games experience is filled with great fun and unforgettable memories.
All the very best in your chosen sport. Thanks for being a legend and coming to the Gold Coast to play!

1300MEDICS is a leading national provider of specialist medical services and are the official medical service provider of the Pan Pacific Masters Games. 1300MEDICS will have staff at each location ready to provide professional and timely medical services. 1300MEDICS services include:
• 1300MEDICS will deploy a team of over 100 staff during the event.
• 1300MEDICS team consists of medics, paramedics, nurses, doctors, a commander and logistics personnel.
Sun and heat safety
Queensland is a wonderful place to play sport but can be very hot. Vigorous exercise can place some people at risk of heat illness especially in hot weather. If untreated, heat illness can lead to more serious and life-threatening problems such as heat stroke. Listen to your body, do you feel unwell? Maybe rest and slow down. Please take care during the hotter parts of the day.
Warm up before and stretch afterwards
A well planned and structured warm up helps to minimise the risk of muscle tears and strains by improving blood circulation and prepares both your body and brain for exercise and hopefully winning. Don’t forget to stretch afterwards to help with fresh legs the next day.
Drink plenty of water
It’s important you are drinking plenty of water. A lack of adequate fluids can negatively impact sports performance and therefore increase the risk of injury. Heat related illness like heat stroke is also more likely.
• 1300MEDICS will have a defibrillator and oxygen/ resuscitation pack at every venue for your peace of mind.
• At high risk sports such as Moto Racing - Offroad, 1300MEDICS will deploy a paramedic team in a 4WD ambulance for rapid access and extrication of patients.
• Sunscreen and ice will be available at every venue.
• 1300MEDICS medics can assist with taping. The cost is $10 per joint or free if you bring your own tape.
Wear protective equipment
Is your protective equipment such as eye protection, mouth guards, helmets and gloves in good condition and properly fitting? These items when worn correctly can reduce the risk of injury. Have you got the correct shoes for the sport you are playing? Correct shoes should also be considered as protective equipment. Lastly, don’t forget your sunscreen and a hat.
Seek advice if
Injured? Seek out one of our friendly staff in their familiar blue 1300MEDICS uniforms. If an injury does occur the RICER treatment regime should be followed – Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation and Referral to a qualified health care professional for an expert and definitive diagnosis and treatment plan.

We offer health tests on site, at no cost, helping you monitor your health without the hassle of referrals. Our tests are quick, painless, and vital for early detection of potential health issues, currently focused on heart and lung issues. Beyond testing, we are committed to educating the community about a variety of health concerns. Don’t wait for a scare to learn about your heart health. Our non-profit initiative offers ECG and Spirometry tests without cost and without the need for a referral from a GP. Early detection and awareness can make a world of difference, and we’re here to help you take that crucial step towards better health. We plan to soon be able to also provide a blood test that can provide an individual with results at the site of the test. Donations welcome – we estimate on average tests performed cost $45, every donation is tax deductible. www.healthcheckup.org.au/donate
