Our Team – The young gardeners Let us present ourselves before we get down to work.

Deciding where to start our garden First, we had to pick the ideal place for our vegetable garden. We all decided that place was just outside our school yard.

This seems the right place On a sunny day we started work. Smaragda gave the orders. ‘ This is how we do it, see?’

We started work We took our tools and started work. We first had to weed out the area and get rid off all the litter. We sometimes used our hands to remove all that wild vegetation.

It is hard work and great fun at the same time Weather was on our side, so some of us took off our coats enjoyed the sunny day and carried on our work.

That’s cool! Look, our garden is getting real!

Our vegetable garden begins to take shape. We are doing a great job. Come on guys, don’t stop! Lets dig harder to prepare the soil for our baby plants and seeds.

We are ready to plant our vegetables Just look at us! We are ready for the next step. We have our tools and our baby vegetables and seeds in our hands. We are about to plant them in our freshly dug garden. We will plant lettuce, red lettuce, iceberg lettuce, spinach, garlic and raddish.

Our vegetables in a row These are Smaragda, Theopisti and Lamprini planting some more lettuce, iceberg lettuce. Between them they are planting some garlic because it acts as a natural insect repellent. They are so anxious to see all the plants in their place.
