WELCOME! Located on the beautiful Saanich Peninsula, Panorama Recreation offers innovative facilities and quality programs and services. From an updated aquatic complex which boasts the tallest and longest indoor waterslide on southern Vancouver Island, to an award-winning racquet sports centre, a fully equipped weight room and two skating arenas, there is something for everyone. Off-site facilities provide a variety of programs to accommodate the growing community.

COVID-19 INFO Following the Provincial Health Order, masks are required in common public spaces such as hallways, walkways, lobbies, washrooms and change rooms at Panorama Recreation Centre and Greenglade Community Centre. We are so happy to have our community back in the facility and your safety is important to us. OUR FACILITIES

We operate two main facilities, Panorama Recreation Centre and Greenglade Community Centre, and utilize additional spaces throughout the community to accommodate a variety of seasonal programming.

Panorama Recreation Centre SWIMMING Reserve a spot to lap, leisure, water walk, or family bubble swim! Reservations required and can be done online. AQUATIC FITNESS Reserve your spot in aquatic classes. Reservations required and can be done online. FITNESS Offering a variety of indoor and outdoor fitness classes including outdoor Bootcamp, Yoga, TRX, Spin, Movin’ On Up, and more. Reservations required and can be done online. 12yrs+ WEIGHT ROOM The Weight Room has an extensive selection of strength training, cardiovascular equipment and a variety of stability balls, BOSUs, medicine balls, balance boards, tu bing, TRXs and more. Reservations required and can be done online. 13 yrs+ With the completion of the regional youth w eight room orientation program.

ARENA Reserve your spot to one of our Everyone Welcome or Parent & Child Hockey sessions. Reservations required and can be done online. Skate rentals are available. Greenglade Community Centre POTTERY Block book the same day and time each week or reserve your spot online up to 1 week in advance. PICKLEBALL Book your cohort of 4 for Pickleball at Greenglade! Cohort bookings are available each week on Tu/Th mornings and Sunday evenings. PARTIES ARCHERY PARTIES WITH PACIFIC ARCHERY ACADEMY 8 yrs+ Celebrate your birthday with a different type of bow…one with an arrow! Learn the basics of archery while having fun shooting at balloons and targets. Each party is two hours long and includes one hour of activity followed by one hour of party room and/or gymnasium free play time. REGISTERED BLOCK PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS All ages Private swim lessons are for up to three participants within your “bubble”. Offered Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursday, Saturdays and Sunday. For Preschool Level 1 to 4, parent participation per child required in the water.

Please remember to physical distance from others, sanitize your hands and stay home when sick. All lessons take place in zones in order to ensure physical distancing. Please ensure you are entering and exiting the facilities as directed. SWIM LESSONS

CUSTOM PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS All ages Private swim lessons work around your schedule and are for up to three participants within your “bubble”. For all preschool levels and swim kids levels 1-4, parent participation per child required in the water. Please contact mhenderson@panoramarec.bc.ca to book your custom private swim lesson.

GROUP SWIM LESSONS

Your instructor will teach skills from the pool deck.

Parent participation is required to supervise and provides hands-on assistance for your child to practice their skills for all preschool levels and swim kids levels 1-4.

Group swim lessons are set days and times and are for up to 4 participants in a class with physical distancing. For Preschool Level 1 to 4, parent participation per child required in the water.

Please come “swim ready” in your swim suit. Change rooms will be available for a short time following your lesson.

MUDDY FUN IN CLAY CAMP

PRO-D DAY CAMP

Fire up your creativity and mould your ideas with the magical material of clay! Sculpt and handbuild projects. Each day brings new exciting shapes and projects that incorporate different clay skills and knowledge. Projects will be decorated in class, then available for pick-up 2-3 weeks after creation. Families will be notified when pieces are ready.

PANORAMA RECREATION OUT OF SCHOOL CARE (Kindergarten - Grade 5)

Join us for Out of School Care next school year! Operating M-F from 3-5:30pm, our program includes an engaging lineup of new activities & local outings each month, along with daily healthy snacks! ЌELSET, Sidney and Deep Cove students will be based out of Greenglade Community Centre. Brentwood and Keating Elementary students will be based out of the Central Saanich Cultural Centre.

ALLEGRO DANCE, CRAFT & ADVENTURE CAMP 6 - 12 yrs This Camp is designed to give a taste of any different dance styles in a fun and encouraging atmosphere! We will also do some crafts, play games and go for a walk and explore some of our nearby parks, play some games and have some outdoor fun each afternoon! Join us for three days of pottery and two of painting with our qualified fine arts instructor. Our coaches work through basic skating, puck handling, passing, shooting and a variety of drills designed for fun and basic skill development. HEALING MEDITATION 18 yrs+ Meditation and mindfulness practice calms the body and mind so you can de-stress, find a sense of peace and improve your level of happiness. This Hatha-based Yoga For Life practice is an achievable and sustainable yoga for all, focusing on building bone density and improving strength and balance through guided, progressive and enjoyable poses. Key to living actively and healthy throughout our years, the combination of strong, stable bones and muscles ensures quality of life, peace of mind and enjoyment of daily activities. Through this yoga practice we will build our universal natural-healing system and make long term, positive changes for our health, relationships and our world.

This is a good class to cover basic principles of proper alignment and body mechanics, isolate the muscles and restore a balance to the body; engaging and strengthening all the core muscles to improve fitness and prevent injuries. Pilates was designed to increase strength, flexibility and vitality and we do this as we are gentle on the joints.

Developed by BC Women’s Hospital, this is a fallprevention program consisting of strength, balance and stretching exercises that are safe for those with osteoporosis. You will also improve your posture by strengthening and stretching specific muscle groups, which can reduce pain and other consequences of poor body alignment.

15 yrs+

50 yrs+ This class combines low impact cardio, strength training, standing core and balance work. Participants will use a combination of small free weights, bands, body bars and gliders in various ways to challenge their balance and coordination. Please note when registering, 90% of the class consists of standing exercises.
