WELCOME! Located on the beautiful Saanich Peninsula, Panorama Recreation offers innovative facilities and quality programs and services. From an updated aquatic complex which boasts the tallest and longest indoor waterslide on southern Vancouver Island, to an award-winning racquet sports centre, a fully equipped weight room and two skating arenas, there is something for everyone. Off-site facilities provide a variety of programs to accommodate the growing community.

Under the direction of the BC Provincial Health Office and other governing bodies, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, we have implemented an extensive list of safety and cleaning protocols in all areas of our facilities as well as programs are following the guidelnes set out by these bodies.

OUR FACILITIES

We operate two main facilities, Panorama Recreation Centre and Greenglade Community Centre, and utilize additional spaces throughout the community to accommodate a variety of seasonal programming.

Panorama Recreation Centre

SWIMMING Reserve a spot to lap, leisure, water walk, or family bubble swim! Reservations required and can be done online. AQUATIC FITNESS Reserve your spot in the following aquatic classes: Combo Aquafit, Aqua HIIT, and Aqua Spin. Reservations required and can be done online. FITNESS Offering a variety of indoor and outdoor fitness classes including Bootcamp, Yoga, TRX, Spin, Movin’ On Up, and more. Reservations required and can be done online. 12yrs+ WEIGHT ROOM The Weight Room has an extensive selection of strength training, cardiovascular equipment and a variety of stability balls, BOSUs, medicine balls, balance boards, tubing, TRXs and more. Reservations required and can be done online. 13 yrs+ with the completion of the regional youth weight room orientation program.

ARENA Reserve your spot to one of our Everyone Welcome or Parent & Child Hockey sessions. Reservations required and can be done online. Skate rentals are available COURT BOOKINGS Indoor tennis, outdoor tennis and squash courts are availabe. Court bookings required in advance and can be done online.

Greenglade Community Centre POTTERY Reserve your spot online up to 1 week in advance. Must have 16hrs+ pottery experience and an orientation or completed a pottery class through Panorama. Reservations required and can be done online. PICKLEBALL Book your cohort of 4 for Pickleball at Greenglade! Cohort bookings are available each week on Tu/Th mornings and Sunday evenings. Reserve your group online, bring your own ball and paddle – nets are included.

REGISTERED BLOCK PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS All ages Private swim lessons are for up to three participants within your ‘bubble”. Offered Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursday, Saturdays and Sunday. For Preschool Level 1 to 4, parent participation per child required in the water.

Please remember to physical distancing from others, sanitize your hands and stay home when sick. All lessons take place in zones in order to ensure physical distancing.

Parent participation is required for Preschool Levels 1 - 4 and is there to supervise and provides hands-on assistance for your child to practice their skills.

SKATE LESSONS •

Parent participation is required if your child is unable to get up on their own.

Skate rentals are available.

Make your own fold-up tote bag in one class! Learn some sewing basics, including threading a machine, winding a bobbin and more. Using a straight stitch, sew a tote bag and learn how to make a flat felled seam to enclose the raw edges. SEWING - QUILTED CASSEROLE CARRIER

ARTS & CULTURE SEWING - CHRISTMAS HEXAGONAL TABLE TOPPER 15 yrs+ This is an easy table topper that you can make for yourself or give as a gift. In this class we will be using basic sewing and cutting skills, piecing material, quilting it and putting the binding on. There may be a little sewing to finish up at home or feel free to stay after class and finish. Sewing machine, iron and white thread will be provided as well as quilt batting for the project. Please bring a sharp pair of scissors and a long ruler. You will need 3 pieces of coordinating holiday fabric (.25 m each) for the front and .3m for back. SOAP MAKING 101 - MAKING NATURAL HANDCRAFTED SOAP

ALCOHOL INK FLOWER AND ABSTRACT PAINTING

Learn to make beautiful, natural soaps that are free of preservatives, sulphates and petrochemicals. In this hands-on workshop you will be walked through the entire process of making cold process vegan soap using vegetable oils, lye, natural fragrance oils and clays. In a fun and relaxed setting, we will learn about lye safety and briefly cover the chemistry of soap making, calculating recipes, properties of oils, measuring ingredients, preparing soap molds, and cutting and curing soap. Each participant will go home with 10 soaps!

Join us one day per month for making beautiful flowers and abstract paintings with Alcohol Ink. Each session you will create two paintings with completely different techniques. This workshop is offered one day per month but each time we will review the basics as well as learn completely new techniques. Use your own hair dryer as an airbrush to create ethereal silky blooming alcohol ink flowers as well as dreamy abstract paintings. $20 supply fee included. Masks are required for all participants.

You’ll love the supportive group atmosphere of this program. Must be able to get in and out of a chair without assistance. 30 percent of exercises in class will be standing.

50 yrs+ This class combines low impact cardio, strength training, standing core and balance work. Participants will use a combination of small free weights, bands, body bars and gliders in various ways to challenge their balance and coordination.
