Open Day This year, the students of Melilas would like to invite parents into school to be able to showcase the wonderful learning that has recently occurred in M1 and M2. The event will take place in the Melilas area on 7th December, from 10 am to 11 am. Parents will be participating in 3 lessons: Drama/English, Science and Art (where we will be continuing our unit of portraiture work). The reason we have combined Drama and English together is because what we have studied in English is linked to the performances we will be showcasing in Drama. M1 will be performing a play loosely based on the class novel, Holes, while M2 will be performing their drama about power and leadership. As mentioned, in English, the M1s have been reading a class novel called Holes, which represents identity and who you truly are. The M2 students are currently reading Lord of the Flies: a book demonstrating leadership and power. ?It?s very interesting to see a civilian turn into a savage hunter,? quotes Mae. We truly appreciate the support that has been provided for us by our parents and family members. Keep up the good work!

To know what happens to you if you forget to bring something to school, read the poster (on the right) about poor Edward and organised Olive. Some simple tips to be organised for school or work have been listed below: -

Pack your bags the night before.

Write a post-it note and stick it to a common place you go after waking up.

Try to wake up early to have time to organise everything.

Try to maintain a daily routine.

Finish your homework early so you have less things to do when its due.
