As you know, at Panache Cruises we work with the very best in ultra-luxury and all-inclusive cruising to ensure our guests experience the finest voyages available anywhere in the world.
One cruise line that continues to stand out, time and time again, is Silversea. I’ve sailed with Silversea many times over the years and I can honestly say that each voyage leaves me more impressed than the last. From the moment you step on board, it feels like a breath of fresh air.
Silversea has long been a leader in the ultra-luxury space, but what excites me most is how boldly they continue to innovate. Their newest ships are redefining what’s possible at sea, blending cutting-edge design with exceptional dining, brand-new wellness offerings and spectacular experiences on and off the ship. Put simply, Silversea just keeps raising the bar.
Then there’s Silversea Expeditions. If you don’t want to compromise on

You have a selection of half a dozen or so excursions—included of course—so you choose a half-day experience, eager to explore a new destination. Your local guide is brilliant, giving you a real taste for this beautiful place and taking you for food and wine tastings along your route.
You head back to the ship, don your robe and head to the spa for a much-needed massage after being on your feet all morning. The Otium spa products delight your senses—a crew member appears at your side with your favourite drink, out of nowhere.
Later, you dress up in your fanciest clothes for a fantastic meal in Atlantide. You choose the surf and turf and it’s the best meal you’ve ever eaten!
After a cocktail or two in the lounge, you watch the evening’s entertainment before retreating to your suite for a night cap, cosy in your safe haven for the duration of your cruise. And you do it all again tomorrow…
That is the Silversea Experience.

Tina and Catherine discover La Dolce Vita at sea
But what’s an ocean voyage with Silversea really like?
Cruise Connoisseur Catherine Divan and Packaging Executive Tina Davis have been on board—and now, they’re lifting the curtain.
“I was excited to see what all the fuss was about,” said Tina. “And now I know!”
For self-proclaimed foodies like Catherine and Tina, a Silversea cruise is the place to be. With eight restaurants on offer, as well as an array of unique gourmet experiences, the ship was their oyster.
“The choices were endless,” Catherine said, recounting her Greek Island getaway aboard Silver Moon. “From champagne and canapés in the Dolce Vita lounge to surf and turf sushi in Kaiseki and jazz and tapas in Silver Note… there was an impressive selection of delicious cuisine and well thought out menus.”
But as Catherine discovered, Silversea’s gastronomic delights weren’t limited to mealtimes. As part of the line’s innovative S.A.L.T. (Sea And Land Taste) concept, there is an unwavering focus on exploring each destination’s cultural identity via the medium of food, with an impressive selection of epicurean experiences and excursions.
First stop: the S.A.L.T. Restaurant and Bar, complete with custom cocktails and an ever-changing regionally inspired menu. In fact, the traditional Greek and Cypriot cuisine served here ultimately won it the title of Catherine’s Favourite Onboard Eatery.
“There was an amazing selection of food to choose from, all accompanied by specially selected wines,” she enthused. “You had the option to order as many dishes as you wanted, so we certainly made the most of the choices on offer!” And that’s just for starters. As part of Silversea’s S.A.L.T. programme, Catherine was also able to partake in some hands-on experiences, such as a cooking class in the state-ofthe-art S.A.L.T. Lab and a private wine sampling in the hills of Mykonos.
CatherineandLiv
Tina and Nicole
Reflecting later, she remarked, “We left feeling a lot richer and fully immersed from the experience.”
Tina too was able to take advantage of Silversea’s S.A.L.T. offerings throughout her Mediterranean voyage aboard Silver Ray, saying, “What was made clear from the very start is everyone is welcome… the restaurant itself is light, airy and laid out so that everyone can see and interact with the rest of the class.”
Indeed, as the newest addition to the Silversea fleet, it makes sense that Silver Ray would showcase the best of what Silversea has to offer. Aside from the culinary experience, Tina was especially
impressed by the new-to-brand design features she discovered on board.
“My first thought was how spacious the public areas are, all decorated to the highest of standards with a mix of modern art and traditional décor,” she said. “There were so many intimate areas tucked away that you would have no trouble finding a quiet spot!”
This is in line with Silver Ray’s enhanced horizontal design, which boasts increased square footage in order to accommodate expansive all-balcony suites and elevated amenities. The vessel also features an all-new suite category - the Otium Suite - complete with extended living area and ‘Wall of
Windows’ offering unparalleled 270° views.
Looking back at her time aboard Silver Ray, Tina said, “Overall, Silversea more than delivered. The staff were incredibly attentive and always happy, the ship itself is stunning, and you leave feeling you have experienced a real sense of luxury!”
Limitless
LUXURY WITHOUT LIMITS: WHAT WE LOVE ABOUT SILVERSEA CRUISES
Written
by Helen Chalu The Marquee. Silver Nova
After sailing on five very different voyages with Silversea Cruises - from the Caribbean to the Galápagos, from a christening voyage in the Mediterranean to a world cruise segment in South Africa - we’ve seen first-hand how the brand has quietly redefined what modern luxury at sea looks like.
Space and privacy: the new luxury essentials
One of the most striking constants across the Silversea fleet is space. Not just in suite size, but in how the ships feel. With all-suite accommodation, generous verandas and high crew-toguest ratios, Silversea ships never feel busy. Public areas are calm rather than crowded, dining is relaxed rather than rushed, with privacy at hand whenever you need it, but never at the expense of comfort. Days at sea feel restorative, not repetitive, and there’s always somewhere to retreat to - whether that’s a quiet lounge, your suite, or a sunlit corner deck.
Design evolution: from Silver Moon to Silver Nova
When Silver Moon launched in 2021 as part of Silversea’s new generation, it brought with it a fresh, contemporary design - light, airy interiors and a stronger connection to destinations. It also debuted one of Silversea’s most important innovations: S.A.L.T.
But Silversea didn’t rest on their laurels, introducing the innovative Silver Nova just two years later, a ship that feels like a genuine leap forward. Its asymmetrical design allows for expansive outdoor spaces and uninterrupted sea views, while interiors feel more like a modern
boutique hotel than a traditional cruise ship.
Silver Nova and now her sister Silver Ray don’t just look different, they behave differently and nowhere is this more evident than on the top deck. The offset pool with expansive sea views; the indoor/outdoor dining venue, The Marquee; and the sunset bar complete with live saxophone music and sundowner cocktails meant that we spent most of our time up here on our Caribbean voyage on Silver Nova.
S.A.L.T. and Otium: depth over excess S.A.L.T. (Sea And Land Taste) goes far beyond themed menus, offering regionally inspired dining, immersive talks and shore experiences designed to connect guests more deeply with local culture. At its heart is S.A.L.T. Kitchen, a destination-inspired restaurant where the menu changes with every port and showcases local ingredients, cooking styles and regional specialties drawn from the very places you’re visiting. Nova and Ray also offer an extra dimension to destination dining: the exclusive S.A.L.T. Chef’s Table.
S.A.L.T. Lab invites curious travellers into hands-on cooking classes and demonstrations, while the S.A.L.T. Bar serves regionally inspired cocktails and drinks. The enrichment extends ashore with S.A.L.T. Experiences: curated shore excursions that take guests deep into a destination’s food heritage, including experiences such as market tours, visits to family farms or vineyards, and chef-led culinary activities
like the one we did in Naxos, Greece where we learnt to make spanakopita at a local restaurant then enjoyed a meal prepared by the owner and served on a table literally on the beach.
Otium, meanwhile, is Silversea’s answer to wellbeing; quiet, considered and unapologetically indulgent. Inspired by ancient Roman philosophy, it’s about rest without agenda. From spa rituals to suite treats, it encourages guests to slow down, disconnect and genuinely relax - something that feels increasingly precious in modern travel.
Expedition cruising, perfected
Luxury cruising truly comes into its own when paired with expedition travel, and nowhere is that clearer than the Galápagos on board Silver Origin where zodiac landings, expert naturalists and extraordinary wildlife encounters are matched with refined dining, comfortable suites, a beautiful ship and seamless service. It’s a once in a lifetime cruise to a unique destination, offering exploration without compromise, and almost eight years after we had the chance to visit, it is still one of our most memorable cruises.
That same philosophy also extends far beyond the equator aboard Silver Endeavour, Silversea’s purpose-built expedition flagship. With itineraries spanning Antarctica, the Arctic, South Georgia, the Kimberley and remote corners of Northern Europe and the Americas, Silver Endeavour takes guests to some of the planet’s most inaccessible regions, without losing the hallmarks of Silversea luxury.
Longer journeys and the world cruise appeal
That same mindset carries naturally into Silversea’s longer itineraries. Joining a segment of the Silversea World Cruise aboard Silver Dawn we saw first-hand how well the line caters to guests who see travel as a long-term passion rather than a one-off holiday. These voyages reward curiosity, patience and depth, offering meaningful time in destinations and a rhythm onboard that quickly feels like home. We came away from our ten night voyage with serious World Cruise envy.

Natalie and Georgia experience the incredible Silver Endeavour
Seeking an expedition adventure of their own, Cruise Connoisseur Georgia Redmond and Head of Global Partnerships Natalie Eadon embarked on the journey of a lifetime aboard Silver Endeavour…next stop, Antarctica!
Following in the footsteps of history’s famed polar explorers is not necessarily at the top of everyone’s bucket lists— especially those who are prone to a little seasickness! Luckily, Natalie and Georgia were booked onto an itinerary that skipped the Drake Passage entirely, instead catching a charter flight from Patagonia to King George Island. From here, they boarded Silver Endeavour and settled into their Signature Suite.
“I couldn’t believe my eyes when I first walked in, you feel like you have your own apartment at sea,” said Georgia. “The bedroom has large floor-to-ceiling windows, perfect to watch the magical scenes around you”.
And that was only the beginning. The onboard experience also comprised of a dedicated butler - who anticipated Natalie and Georgia’s every need before they did – an array of fascinating, expert-led lectures in the Explorer Lounge and in true Silversea fashion, some of the most mouthwatering cuisine at sea.
“People don’t go on an expedition cruise with the expectation that the food will be good,” Georgia said. “But my goodness, it was incredible. We ate at Italian restaurant Il Terrazzino on a few occasions, as the food was so good. The Arts Café was my favourite place to
grab a bite to eat after our morning excursion or a hot chocolate to warm me up for the next…and La Dame is one of the best gastronomic experiences you will have on a cruise full stop. You’ll be gazing upon glaciers and icebergs from the stupendous floor-to-ceiling windows while sipping ice-cold champagne and dining on fresh caviar.”
However, whilst the experience aboard Silver Endeavour boasted luxury, comfort and style in spades, it was the excursions and destination itself that stole the show.
“Every day we had two activities planned and we were split into four groups; we typically did a landing tour in the morning, followed by a Zodiac cruise in the afternoon,” explained Natalie. “It was a new experience for me, being on such a small ship with small group tours. But because of that, I felt like it was more immersive than any other cruise or excursion I’ve been on.”
Highlights included sailing through Pleneau Bay’s cerulean icebergs, kayaking around Spert Island and the famous Polar Plunge, which Georgia described as “One of the best experiences of the whole trip!”
Of course, up-close wildlife encounters are the real jewel in Antarctica’s crown, and Natalie and Georgia discovered no shortage of those. From Adélie and Gentoo penguins at Petermann Island to Chinstraps on an Orne Harbour hike to an unforgettable Zodiac cruise at Wilhelmina Bay where the group was joined by two humpback whales,
“there are no words to describe being as close as we were,” concluded Natalie.
Reflecting on the trip, she said, ‘This has been the best experience of my life, and I don’t think anything else can top this. It truly is another world in Antarctica.’
