Restaurants –The Lake Oswego restaurant scene is thriving. Despite the odds, most of our beloved restaurants have prevailed through the pandemic thanks to the support of the community. New restaurants continue to open, including several in the recently improved Lake Grove district. Visit the Business Classifieds section to explore and discover what we already know; Lake Oswego is a great place to dine!

Coffee Shops and Bakeries – Lake Oswego offers several places to enjoy the smell (and taste!) of fresh-baked bread, cookies, cakes, pastries and pies. Visit the “Coffee Specialty Shops” and “Bakeries” sections in the Business Classifieds to fi nd a cozy local spot to meet a friend or enjoy some alonetime while sipping on your favorite brewed beverage.

Wineries, Breweries and Distilleries

– Take a short walk around downtown and you’ll see Lake Oswego is emerging as a destination for tasting rooms. We are proud to have some of Oregon’s finest wine, beer and spirit producers in the neighborhood.

Farmers’ Markets (www.ci.oswego. or.us/lofm) – Since 2001, the Saturday morning downtown Lake Oswego Farmers’ Market has featured a seasonal, open-air marketplace for residents and visitors to gather and discover the region’s finest agricultural & food products. 2021 brought us the pilot of a second farmers’ market – Sunday afternoons in Lake Grove. Farmers and foodies love Lake Oswego!

Grocery Stores and Produce Stands – Lake Oswego has neighborhood markets that emphasize locally-sourced products from regional farmers, ranchers and producers.

Luscher Farm (www.ci.oswego.

or.us/luscher) – Through a city- and partner-funded sustainable community farming model, area residents are provided the opportunity to grow their own fresh, organic produce at the Lake Oswego Community Garden nestled in the beautiful and historic Luscher Farm. You can also purchase a share through the CSA program.

Meals-on-Wheels

(lakeoswegomealsonwheels.org) –Since 1972, this essential community service has provided hot, delicious, well-balanced meals delivered by volunteers to housebound adults (age 60 and older) and to those who are disabled (of any age).

Hunger Fighters

(hungerfightersoregon.org) – Hunger Fighters’ mission is to provide reliable access to nutritious food and essential hygiene items in an inclusive, accepting environment in Lake Oswego.

ARTS & CULTURE

Lake Oswego’s passionate support of the arts is evident throughout the community, whether visiting City Hall, strolling along our sidewalks or visiting one of our local galleries.

The Arts Council of Lake (artscouncillo.org) – Home of the nationally-recognized Gallery Without Walls program, the Arts Council of Lake Oswego works to ensure that arts are an integral part of life in our community, now and into the future.

Preservation Society (lakeoswegopreservationsociety.org) –The Lake Oswego Preservation Society preserves, protects and advocates for Lake Oswego’s built heritage. Their vision is, “A Lake Oswego that embraces the social, economic and environmental benefits of historic preservation.”

Oswego Heritage House (oswegoheritage.org) – A historic resource and focal point for our local history, with a permanent Oswego history exhibit that begins with an introduction to local Native American history and continues to our more current history.

Concerts

Visitors and residents enjoy free, familyfriendly summer concerts at local parks (www.ci.oswego.or.us/concerts), and venues like At The Garages ensure we can enjoy live music year-round. Tavern on Kruse, Nicoletta’s Table, Willamette Valley Vineyards and The Dullahan Irish Restaurant and Pub are just some of the local restaurants where, on select days, you can enjoy live music with your meal.

Lakewood Theatre Company / Lakewood Center for the Arts (lakewood-center.org) – Lakewood is an arts institution dedicated to providing arts education, performance and exhibition opportunities to the region.

The BOOKtique is the used bookstore operated by The Friends of The Lake Oswego Public Library

Bookstore sales fund library cultural programming including Lake Oswego Reads, an annual program designed to bring the community together by inviting participants to read the same book and enjoy a series of events which expand on the book’s cultural, social and political themes.

Lake Oswego Hunt and Equestrian Center (lakeoswegohunt.com) - Since its formation in 1936, Lake Oswego Hunts’ mission has been to host Equestrian Events for many disciplines of riding, to promote Equine Education, and above all preserve their amazing landmark, on the National Register of Historic Places.

Lake Oswego is home to several galleries where you can enjoy and purchase works of art, including Arts Council of Lake Oswego, Lawrence Gallery and The Perfect Piece. The Lake Oswego School District (LOSD) (losdschools.org) is a highperforming K-12 comprehensive public school district with a learning community dedicated to creating a culture of belonging and educational excellence. LOSD has been rated the best school district in Oregon, and among the top in America, for decades.

THE OUTDOORS & ACTIVE LIVING

TLake Oswego’s eastern edge is nestled along the scenic Willamette River, providing recreational opportunities like boating, water skiing and fishing. Enjoy nature viewing and swimming from the banks of Foothills Park and George Rogers Park.

The City’s Parks and Recreation department (www.ci.oswego.or.us/ parksrec) manages over 600 acres of park and open space property and over 45 acres of recreation facilities. The Department hosts an average of 1800 recreation programs and 85 community events each year.

The Lake Oswego Adult Community Center (ACC) is a nonprofit service

and advocacy organization located in the First Addition Neighborhood in Lake Oswego. It is a multipurpose facility offering recreation, education and social services programs for adults. Established in 1970, it was the fi rst senior center in Clackamas County and is now the third senior center to be awarded National Accreditation.

Oswego Lake (lakecorp.com) – The 415-acre Oswego Lake began as a summer vacation and recreational destination in the late 1800s, and now provides year-round enjoyment to the residents who surround it.

Four-Legged Fun – The City of Lake Oswego has two Dog Parks; Hazelia (17800 Stafford Road), which is separated into two areas depending on your pup’s personality, and West Waluga (15775 Waluga Drive).
