BAD HABITS Pawing for attention, getting too close to the cat, growling at the mailman, chewing things, squirrel chasing

FOOD / DRINK SCHEDULE BREAKFAST 800am - 930am, 1 scoop of Fresh Food (in the fridge) AND 1 scoop of dry food (scoops in bags).

LUNCH NO LUNCH! She can eat her treats/lick the air <3 DINNER 600pm - 730pm, 1 scoop of Fresh Food AND 1 scoop of dry food. Delish!

TREATS Roughly 5-10 treats from the red jar in the kitchen (by the iPad). Sternly tell her a command (sit, lay down) and give.

ENTERTAINMENT The snuffle rug = 10 minutes of peace!

Place a good handful of jar treats throughout the rug, place on the ground, and let her at it! She's able to hunt for them, gets food, and sleeps really well - a win-win for everyone, especially if it’s raining outside and you don’t want to run her in the rain.

DID YOU KNOW 15 minutes of mental stimulation for a dog is equivalent to roughly two hours of physical exercise for humans?

WATER Drinks from the automatic water fountain (along with the cat); please fill up when it starts making a strange gurgle noise, roughly once a day or two. No need to clean it as it was washed before we left!

B A C K Y A R D TIPS N’ TRICKS No need for a leash, but please go outside with her! She may look for squirrels or birds to chase, so if she sees something, say "LEAVE IT" and "COME INSIDE". She will follow you when you come upstairs to open the door.

Please do not let her out in front of the house, as we’ve had issues with other dogs walking by and both getting into a barking tizzy; we don’t want you to deal with that!

Ensure the cat doesn’t gun it for the door when you’re heading to the yard; she’s a nosy lady who started as an outdoor cat, but we’ve sequestered her to our domain.

IF DOG IS pawing you, sitting on the corner of the rug by the door and staring, not leaving you alone, it’s potty time baby!

TOYS (!) Orange Chuck-It balls are her thaaang. Bring two of them outside and use the green plastic thing on the table in the yard to throw the balls; it’s seriously her favorite thing. I try to do this as much as possible, at least once daily.

PLEASE Bring to the yard right before you go to bed. If staying the night, she'll jump on the bed/wake you up to say when she's got to go. She’ll ONLY whine if it's emergency potty time.

WALKIES I aim to give Pretzel ONE walk a day, even if it’s just around the block. It makes her happy, allows her to smell the smells, and get out of the house that she’s in all the time. If walking homegirl: I go around the block or more. The longer the walk, the more she'll nap! Bring at least 2 bags just in case. Watch for squirrels and kids; a short leash is recommended. She can be a tugger! Per the weather, dog coat options are up on the hanger by the door.

Truthfully, we don’t always walk her every day. Sometimes the work day gets to us, the weather sucks, or we’re out all day, but she’s a frickin German Shepherd/Pitbull/Staffordshire ass bitch. Girl needs to WALK and the absolutely has to SNIFF

THE SANCTUARY ADDRESS 9771 N Central St, Portland OR, 97203 NEIGHBORHOOD St. John's THINGS TO DO Walks to Pier Park (4 blocks away), playing her fave game of fetch from the living room to the kitchen ACCIDENTS Here's the process if a happy accident occurs: POOP: Pick up using a doggy bag and dispose of it in the grey garbage can outside. Clean the area with Sparticus the Green Vacuum which lives to the right of the couch.

THROWUP: I am so sorry, this is tragic. And rare! Lucky you! Bring Pretzel outside then remove all solids with a bag, soak access with paper towels, spray with a cleaner under the sink, let sit and scrub. Godspeed.

NOTE We do have a Ring camera on the front door, a camera on the living room cabinet, and by the hot tub. Not stalking you at all, it’s just the responsible thing to do!

BEANS (THE CAT) FOOD/WATER Her food automatically drops 4x a day. Will beg all bloody day for food. Don't give in to the dark void.

RELATIONSHIP WITH PRETZEL Not the biggest fan of sharing the house (and quite frankly sharing Colin), but she understands that the dog is here to stay! Will smack Pretzel in the face when the dog is playing fetch with you inside - feel free to put the cat in the bathroom & close the door if she's being nasty.

POTTY TIME She does her business in the left cabinet of the bathroom - No need to change the litter/dispose of litter; we leave it be and take care of it once a week so leave as is!

HER DAY-TO-DAY She sleeps most of the time but might want to sit on your lap (will only do this if you've given her space and allow her to walk to you.) Recommend leaving her alone. Gets the zoomies late at night; brace yourself. Please don't let her scratch on any of the carpets - does this when bored! Hangs out: chair under the dining table, the bistro table stools in the kitchen, her Pawd (under the guest bed), the top right of the couch, left cushion of couch, beds, the shower (?)
