Find the perfect summer camp for your child Summertime will be here before we know it and many families are beginning the search to find a safe place for their kids to spend summer break. It’s also the perfect time to start thinking of your child’s interests when searching for the perfect summer camp. Not only is summer camp a place to develop new skills, it’s also a time when new friendships are often forged. Fortunately, with the wide array of camp choices out there, there’s a camp available for every interest. Our 2018 Summer Camp Guide highlights camps for all interests. From arts and acting camps to STEM, sports and equestrian camps, our guide offers a great selection of camps with many affordable options.
Lake Worth Playhouse Theatre Summer Camp
Campers 8 to 14 years old will learn acting, voice, dance and stage movement through fun daily activities and rehearsals which culminate in full-scale productions of “Into The Woods Jr.” and “Mary Poppins Jr.” “Into The Woods Jr.” is a musical which centers on a baker and his wife who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King’s festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse and wind up changed forever. Disney’s “Mary Poppins Jr.” is based on one of the most popular Disney movies of all time and the Broadway musical that played for more than 2,500
performances and received multiple Olivier and Tony Award nominations. Campers will be engaged in studio-style rehearsals for music, dance and production rehearsals. Campers 12 years and older will also have the opportunity to participate in behind-the-scene roles and other theatre-related educational opportunities. Cost: $600 per camp production; Dates & Hours: “Into The Woods Jr.” runs June 4-23. “Mary Poppins Jr.” runs from July 9 through July 28. Casperey Stables Horse Camp
Casperey Stables Horse Camp is a small, fun-filled day camp for children ages 7 to 14. With three riding opportunities each day, arts & crafts and outdoor games, campers find little time to be bored. The low counselor-child ratio ensures that each child receives individual attention. Each two-week session has a theme, such as Indian Days, Circus Days and Medieval Days. Horse Camp at Casperey Stables features a weekly water play day and ends each session with a horse show and family barbecue. Cost: $475 per two-week session. $455 per session for two or more. Extended care is available for $60 per week.

John Webster Golf Academy The John Webster Golf Academy is one of the most well-rounded, performancebased golf camps in the country. Under the tutelage of highly skilled and certified golf professionals, campers
ages 6 to 15 will enjoy comprehensive instruction, skills and game competitions, a variety of indoor/outdoor activities and much more in a fun and positive environment. Half, full and extended full-day sessions are available. Lunch is included in all sessions and upon registration all campers receive a camp essentials backpack. Cost: $395 per week for full day sessions, which includes lunch. There is a one-time registration fee of $75 per camper that includes a camp essentials bag. Discounts are available to families registering multiple children. Fees vary for half-day and extended full-day sessions; Dates & Hours: Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., June 18 to Aug. 17.
