PALMER TRINITY SCHOOL ATHLETIC PROGRAMS Mission and Philosophy The Palmer Trinity School Athletic Department is dedicated to providing opportunities for student-athletes to learn, develop and compete through education-based athletics. By providing a supportive, inclusive environment, we emphasize student-athletes of high character and virtue. Our focus is on developing the whole student in pursuit of excellence in academics and athletics by teaching skill development, incorporating life lessons and providing healthy competition. A WORD FROM OUR

A WORD FROM OUR

On behalf of the entire PTS family, I am excited that you have expressed interest in the interscholastic athletic program at Palmer Trinity School. It is my privilege to work with studentathletes, coaches and the entire PTS community in making the athletic experience fun, positive and rewarding.

Welcome to Palmer Trinity School, home of the Falcons! At the Middle School level, students are encouraged to become involved in a variety of extracurricular activities and immerse themselves in all PTS has to offer. It is our goal to develop the skills needed to advance to Upper School Athletics, while instilling a love for the game and cultivating new relationships.

Athletic Conferences All Upper School Varsity teams, with the exception of football, compete as a member of the Palm League Conference. Each member school shares common values and inherent beliefs about the nature of competition in athletics. The Palm League is comprised of the following 10 independent schools from Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach Counties: Benjamin, Gulliver, Miami

Country Day, North Broward Prep, Oxbridge, Palmer Trinity, Pine Crest, Ransom Everglades, University School, and St. Andrew’s. All Middle School Varsity teams, with the exception of football and boys lacrosse, compete as a member of the South Florida Middle School Conference (SFMSC). The SFMSC provides our teams the ability to

compete in a regular season against common opponents and concludes with a playoff tournament at the end of the season. The following schools from Miami-Dade County compete in the SFMSC: Carrollton, Divine Savior, Florida Christian, Gulliver, Miami Country Day, Palmer Trinity, Ransom Everglades, Riviera Prep, and Westminster Christian.

Athletic Training Palmer Trinity Athletic Trainers are committed to providing high quality medical coverage and care for all injuries and illnesses to all PTS student-athletes regardless of sport, gender, or ability level. We have a full-time AT on staff and a partnership with Nicklaus Children’s Hospital to provide additional AT services as needed. Services provided by our ATs include injury and illness prevention, wellness promotion and education, emergent care, examination and clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention, and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. Based on the type and severity of an injury, corrective exercises and/or therapeutic modalities may be provided to assist in the care and treatment of that particular injury. The plan of care and treatment protocols provided are individually designed for our studentathlete’s safe return to sport participation. The therapeutic modalities in the Athletic Training Facility are calibrated on an annual basis. 8
