BRIEFS County wants local vacation rentals to be able to reopen Flagler County Administrator Jerry Cameron will sign a letter to the state’s Department of Business and Professional Regulation asking for permission to let local vacation rentals reopen, and outlining steps the county will take to ensure they’re doing so safely. The submission of a such a letter is required by the state of any county that opts to allow its local rentals to reopen. Flagler County commissioners considered it during a board meeting May 18. Steps required of rental owners would include social distancing, sanitation measures, an occupancy cap of 10 people per unit, the use of pre-arrival health screening questionaries for guests, and the provision of copies of the current executive orders governing vacation rentals to all guests.
Gyms and retail reopen; restaurants may expand seating Gyms and retail establishments may reopen at 50% capacity and restaurants may expand their inside seating from 25% seating capacity to 50%, according to an executive order issued by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. Outside seating is already allowed. Restaurants may also allow parties to be seated at intervals closer than 6 feet if appropriate partitoning is in place to separate them. Bar counters must stay closed.
