City wants all your trash talk A survey, available March 1, asks questions relating to the frequency of trash pickup and recycling costs.

KIMBERLY NORMAN CITY COMMUNICATIONS

Palm Coast residents can tell city leaders what their preferences are for the next garbage and recycling service by taking a community-wide survey that is available through March 31. The survey is available to take online on Palm Coast Connect at palmcoastconnect.com and the city website at palmcoastgov. com. Paper versions will also be delivered in utility bills and be available for in-person participation at the Palm Coast City Hall,

located at 160 Lake Ave., and the Palm Coast Community Center, located at 305 Palm Coast Pkwy NE. Residents with paperless billing will receive a link in email. In April, all survey results will be analyzed and presented to the City Council. The city’s current solid waste and recycling services contract with Waste Pro ends on May 31, 2022. Under that contract, residents’ garbage is picked up twice a week, yard waste is picked up once a week and recycling is picked up once week. The rate is currently $20.36 per month

Flagler Auditorium pays tribute to National Women’s Day and Women’s History Month with a special live performance accompanied by a showcase of some of the county’s prominent women’s organizations. The lively networking event at 5:30 p.m. on March 13 precedes a 7:30 p.m. performance in the Auditorium by Fire and Ice, the Tampa-based tribute band saluting two of the country’s most influential women artists, Pat Benatar and Pink. Following CDC guidelines, the Auditorium audience will be at 25% capacity. Health screening, temperature checks, and face coverings are required. The Auditorium uses a new cleanair system with Global Plasma Technology. The special pre-concert event, “Stronger Together,” spotlights the Professional Women of Flagler County, as well as the work of the Flagler County Historical Society and the Flagler Branch of the American Association of University Women. The groups are working together to relocate the historic Seventh-day Adventist Church building from Espanola to Bunnell and restore it as the Florida Women’s Voting Rights Museum. Fire and Ice enjoys an evergrowing fan base in the state and beyond. The five-member band’s Pat Benatar and Pink interpretations inspired one critic to say: “They do not disappoint. Prepare to be entertained!” Says Amelia Fulmer, Auditorium director: “This exciting concert provides a frame for our focus, which now goes far beyond bringing great entertainment to our community. We are turning the spotlight over to shine on the hard work of local groups and their efforts to elevate our lives today by looking back at yesterday and seeing how far we have come.” There is no charge to attend “Stronger Together,” the women’s networking event. For tickets to the concert, visit www.flaglerauditorium.org or call 386-437-7547.
