Father Lopez senior arrested for school shooting threats Ormond Beach Police arrested an 18-year-old Father Lopez Catholic High School student on Monday, Feb. 7, after he made threats of a school shooting on campus. Father Lopez administrative staff received an email at 2:25 a.m., signed “A Concerned Student,” over threats of a mass shooting at school made by Colin Boyer, of Ormond Beach. The email contained two short video clips that had circulated among students on social media platform Snapchat. “I am very proud of the individual(s) that came forward and reported this incident,” said Ormond Beach Police Chief Jesse Godfrey in a press release. “... This is great example of the ‘See something, Say something’ doctrine and teamwork between the school and local law enforcement agencies.” Boyer was detained at his home at approximately 7:10 a.m. He admitted to filming a video of himself making the threats and stated “he was just having a ‘bad day’ and had no intentions of carrying out the threats,” his arrest report states. Boyer was charged with a felony for the threats and was taken to jail.
